  1. Can you get the neutral color pictured above with the techno steel trim instead of the wood? I have never seen those two together but when I build my own Impala on the Impala web page it allows me to choose that combo.
  2. I agree 100%. What' wrong with some support for the HOME team.
  3. Not as bad as I thought they would be. Trucks took the bad hit compared to last year but cars held steady only down 2% compared to last year.
  4. Or maybe a move to drive up the stock and keep it and put some more heat on management for more progress with the turnaround. Been watching the news and stock market shows for the last hour and this is the big topic. A lot of the auto experts don't see this as a good fit for GM, too much product overlap between the companies.
  5. I kinda feel bad for Rick Wagoner I don't know how that guy sleeps at night. Just when he thought it was safe to hop into his 07 Escalade and head for his country place to celebrate the 4th of July weekend captain Kirk drops this bombshell on him.
  6. Yes I guess we'll be hearing from him shortly. Voulez vous une compagnie Francais achete un interet dans GM? I can see the headlines now. FRENCH COMPANY BUYS INTEREST IN GM. I don't see this helping either of them in North America cause they are both full line manufacturers, maybe in other markets or with things like hybrids where they could share technology.
  7. Well if the murder does occur lets all get together and have one hell of a wake.
  8. Drive it with the new tires first and see. It may be a wheel bearing. Try driving on curves to see and if the noise gets louder then its a bearing for sure.
  9. Nice pics. How many cars are at this show? I usually go to spring Carlisle but I have never been to the all GM show. The grounds look kind of empty, is it worth driving 500 miles for it?
  10. Cause they might end up on Dateline NBC.
  11. Its nice that GM made their press release headlines with the most wins but 2 were for the Corvette and one was for the Heavy duty pick up a market that only has 2 other competitors. If you go to Startegic Visions web site you can get the score for every model.
  12. He's bang on in this article and I don't think you need to have his experience to know it. Just makes you wonder WTF this guys are thinking. You would think somewhere along the line in the last 10 years some bigshot would raise his hand at a meeting and ask, any plans for a half decent Minivan in the works? The same goes for small fuel efficeint cars. GM was never interested in building one of those either.
  13. Yeh it sure is. I bookmarked that for a rainy day read.
  14. I know where I was when I saw my first dustbuster, I was working at a Chevy dealer the summer of 89 and remember pulling into the parking lot one morning and seeing that thing. It was a base model that had those awful wheel covers that also came on the Lumina. I don't think many people could get used to the view from the inside. Was a bit too goofy just like the Previa. The Polymer panels were a great idea though. I knew I guy who had a 91 up until 2 yrs ago. It had 180K on it, had motor work done on it but it had original tranny and not a spot of rust obvioulsy.
  15. I love them too. I also love to drive in them, you know when the rain is really coming down and you need the wipers on the higher speed and there are big puddles on the road.
  16. Cavalier Z24 5 speed 2.4 twin Cam - only average 28MPG a week city and Hwy combined. Most I've ever gotten is 33 all Hwy. The 97 GA 3100 I picked up a few weeks ago seems to be a pig, only gets about 22-23 city hwy combined. The 05 Malibu I rented to drive to Florida last winter was a champion on the Hwy, it got 34 MPG with 4 people and a full trunk and we were cruising at 80MPH the whole time.
  17. More good news for the Impala. My brother had one as a rental for 2 weeks and I was able to drive it for half an hour Sunday night. Funny part was he had a G6 the previous week and he thought the Impala was a lot better, nicer interior, better ergonomics, etc. Averaged 32 MPG on a road trip. Actually he said it was the best GM car he's ever driven but keep in mind our family used to be all GM guys but just the average stuff like Chevys and Pontiacs and some Cutlasses so a don't mean better than Caddys and expensive stuff. Not surprised the Impala does so well in crash tests, the thing just looks so big and solid and planted on the road.
  18. There is a review in the Pontiac section by Canadaindriver. Wish I lived in a warmer climate, I haven't seen one yet. I like the vert but the coupe just doesn't do anything for me.
  19. Sorry to hear about this A hole. I would report him to GM. Then I would call him up personally and tell him you have a family member in the news business and that they are going to do a news piece on a racist who runs a car dealership. Then you will see him $h! his pants and apoligize and offer you some freebies. Try to make him sweat a bit.
  20. Pictures show G5 gets the new corporate radio with MP3 but not Cobalt. G5 gets the G6 steering wheel and not a Cobalt clone. No mention of the new 900 pick ups but there will be 1500 and 2500 Sierra and Silverado classics. It lists Silao Mexico as an assembly plant for full size pick ups. This is probably to pick up some of the slack while the other plants gear up for 900 production.
  21. Thanks! I always look forward to seeing that.
  22. Sad. I'd love to see pics if it is one of those classic old style dealerships.
  23. What happened? GM guys fighting each other? I thought we were all all the same team? I remember you posting prematurely that the Saturn Outlook was shelved and then resigned or something like that???
