  1. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, but I still like the S60/V60 family very much... Had the pleasure of driving a few powertrain combinations in Sweden during my business travels there over the last 2 years, and I have to say it is still a very good automobile.
  2. Corvette Grand Sport, NG Cruze (not the one pitured in China), and the Chevrolet Adra?...
  3. Because this is GM we're talking about...
  4. The ATS doesn't seem to be doing that well...
  5. AH-HA posted on that other forum that this is a China-only SWB D2XX... thank God for that! I like the interior, though...
  6. Fuel economy tends to take a huge nosedive in such cold weather as well...
  7. So... V40; S60/V60; S80; V90? Odd naming scheme there...
  8. Combined, i.e. IC + electric engines
  9. This. Would like to add that maybe the Omega sedan should not be named LTS but instead get a 'real' name. Escalade and the Omega woulg get 'real' names, the others would stick to 3-letter names (though I personally might favour a 4 letter naming for the crossovers - ATS-X and CTS-X)
  10. Congrats to both!
  11. I thought free enterprise was about the ability to challenge the established business model, in this case by having a sales channel not going through a franchised dealer. I guess it isn't after all...
  12. ???
  13. That one doesn't existe anymore If not a Buick (and really... why not?) I'd do it as a Chevrolet. The problem is that the Astra's interior design is the same as the Verano's, so... They could try... but I think they need to work on the sport side of their image a bit more. Start with the Adam first. Still think Buick would be a better plce for the car... Re the Adam, IDK... Adam is more youthful than sporty (except for the new Adam S)... Something a little more outrageous like this Astra to get attention and a couple months later introduce the Astra GTC range as the Buick Astra, maybe?... I'm thinking about the target American market here.... I think about all the Mini-Coopers in Suburban McMansion America... and that could be an excellent Buick Adam market. I admit you could be right. I mean, someone I know in FL exchanged her F-150 for a MINI Cooper, so........... "Suburban McMansion America" can do some weird twists and turns from one car purchase to the next...
  14. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Working on mass and packaging is the way to go IMHO instead of big styling changes. Have to say I'm really partial to the 1970-1973 F-Body designs, though...

  17. In any case, don't think GM would have the balls to give this car to Buick. GM's not even willing to ship the regular Astra GTCs over to the US!...
  18. I read that the plan is the XK being replaced by something more GT in nature with the F-Type covering the sports car part of the sales spectrum...
  19. Offering spartan commercial vehicles has not tarnished the Mercedes-Benz nameplate here in Europe, so I really wouldn't expect it to do so in the US. The images of the brand differ a great deal from there to here from what I've seen. MB's image in the US is one of snobbery, to put it in a very politically incorrect way. Over here the image is of a top-of-the-line car maker that also makes other products such as commercial vehicles (which it has for decades, BTW). The fact that the company produces delivery trucks under the Mercedes-Benz name has never stood in the way of the company's other cars being regarded as top-of-the-line.
