  1. Can't say I'm much of fan of this thing...
  2. fiction
  3. amoeba
  4. Quite conservative application of Art&Science IMHO... But that's not a bad idea on what could (likely) become Cadillac's biggest seller... EDIT - Weight issue seems to have been a concern of GM engineers. Good job! It will for sure benefit the dynamics
  5. copper

  8. This. From today's reveal, I think it looks good! And in a vehicle half a meter smaller than the Enclave the proportions could never be translated, so a scaled carbon-copy of the Enclave shouldn't be expected.
  9. mousse
  10. SAAB AB (the defense/aerospace company that used to be the owner of SAAB pre-GM) is still the owner of the SAAB name/brand. So it will be up to Mr. Wallenberg and family to make that decision if and when suitors move ahead in the process of buying SAAB Automobile AB.
  11. Nice! Love the interior. What's the difference between the funky gearshift and the gated one, btw?
  12. I believe that it is 99% likely the Encore will follow the Astra-to-Verano formula: exact same car (though in the case of the Astra the Astra sedan is yet to be shown) with unique Buick fascias.
  13. Nourishment (spelling?)
  14. Samoa
  15. Let's see if it works this time around
  16. IIRC Youngman is co-invested in the JV that is developing the platform. Also Phoenix is heavily based on Epsilon I althought the GM parts content is supposedly quite low (10% if what I read at Saabsunited is correct).
  17. This is the same engine as on the Astra OPC, right? If so I'd expect GM to not change the HP/Torque rating, even though I personally would like to see the Cadillac application set apart from the Opel one in more than engine/drivetrain layout.
  18. I agree on the differentiation side, but that's too old of an engine... The new GM family of smaller turbocharged 4-cyl engines is due IIRC around 2013. Wonder why a twin turbo diesel hasn't been announced... GM has a twin-turbo 2.0L diesel already and could perhaps apply the same twin turbo concept to the 2.2L diesel used in the Captiva to create a quite competitive diesel offering here in Europe... I sometimes wonder how serious GM is about bringing Cadillac to Western Europe...
  19. Well... In a way it will, because unless things changed a lot over the last 3 months or so, Opel is getting a Gamma-based CUV. I'd expect differences between the two to be like the front end of the Verano versus the front end of the Astra transformation, but that's about it. Fortunately this time around they won't slap a Buick badge on a dead brand car...
  20. Gamma based CUV, of course it isn't related to the VUE or the Equinox ;-)
  21. Although I agree with your post in general terms, perhaps a detuned 2.0L turbo could do the base engine job? Lose a little margin on that base model's sales for some gain in brand image? Just a thought...
  22. Looks very promising! Very good proportions for a FWD car Now the next step in the plan should be to occupy more of the market by moving the NG LaCrosse to this extended super-Epsilon thingy and letting Cadillac have a RWD-based XTS.
  23. European POV: no diesel, no sales...
  24. What a f###ing circus this story has become...
