  1. I LOVE the interior! There's a of simplicity to those interior shapes and the layout (no bulging center stack) that I appreciate. Regarding the exterior, I don't know... Overall the styling looks like something very technical or machined, yet there is something curvy in that front-end at the same time (look at the fron 3/4 picture)... It certainly is VERY different from its Ford platform mate, and that's a good thing. Wonder how this new brand styling will evolve...
  2. VERY different from what I was expecting, but I like the car (minus the vomit-like interior colour)! Offering 4-cylinder non-turbo engines in a car this big and aimed mainly at the US market is quite a gamble; hopefully GM will be quick to react to the public reaction in case the demand for V6 models is big. What this car makes me think about is two things: 1. When can we move the XTS to a RWD/AWD layout (should be yesterday IMHO), and 2. (most important in the grand scheme of things), what is the place of the LaCrosse in the GM lineup and therefore how will GM position the NG LaCrosse?
  3. Now this thing is selling like hot cakes, but I still wonder if a couple of Alpha-based CUVs (let's call them BRX and SRX) wouldn't be the best answer, product-wise, given where GM wants Cadillac to sit... Something larger than 4900mm long should retain the Escalade name, and even continue BOF as long as the Cadillac is significantly reengineered compared to the Chevrolet and GMC platform mates... If they'd want the Escalade to become unibody, then Omega should be the place to look...

  9. Looks Q7-esque in the rear, IMHO... Overall it looks good!
  10. Hmmm; wondering what exactyly does "lack of powertrains that match the DNA of the brand" means... Is Alfa being repositioned?

  12. My thoughts exactly.
  13. Perhaps it is convenient that high corporate tax jusrisdictions (like most of Western Europe is) do not show profits at all or show very moderate ones? My point being that without knowing exactly how GM allocates expenses/revenues between segments (i.e. without a look at GM's Transfer Pricing file) saying this or that about GME is basically useless... The partnership is clever in the sense of creating Purchasing synergies; eventually some product development ones down the road.
  14. I'd rather see it based on a large car RWD architecture, but... Could be Lambda instead...
  15. Yes, PLEASE! This thing is hideous! And btw, Cadillac should be paying serious attention to this segment (besides the Escalade) This is going to cost probably 3-4 times what the Escalade does, though..don't think Cadillac is going after the ultra-luxury niche. Yeah, my idea was more Cayenne-pricing than this thing's pricing which will surely be crazy expensive... But it'd be interesting to think about this type of vehicle (Omega?) besides the truck-based Escalade. To the Escalade's merit, though, it has to be an extremely high-unit-margin vehicle; the true definition of a cash-cow.
  16. It actually looks good... 3-door version could be interesting!

  20. It does and to me personally it would be a match made in Heaven

  22. I'd assume that out of the need to reduce complexity it'd make sense to move to Alpha real quick, no? So why stick with Sigma? :-/
