  1. You nailed it! Size matters here in Europe, and I dont think Europeans will put the CTS and 3-series in the same class. Ever.
  2. Interesting, but too descriptive. I wished for real-world driving impressions. If things go well career-wise, this car will make it to my shortlist. The 1.9L diesel would be a nice company car. EDIT: I hope Kroymans does a good job in translating the BLS brochure to Portuguese. The job they did with the other Cadillacs and the Corvette is nothing short of
  3. OK Still on the Kappa Chevy issue, I'd like to add that I'd love to see the Nomad built and exported to Europe, so I could replace my MINI. A Solstice/Sky/GT coupe would do just as well
  4. I love the concept, and I'm in love with those wheels: they look just like jet engine blades! Still have some doubts about the concept: Is it a rolling concept? Did they borrow a Corvette/XLR architecture for this?
  5. I believe other spy pics of the rear had thinner, more elegant tail lights... Can't wait for the official release!
  6. I thought that Stingray thing was fake! On the other hand, it could be a show car.
  7. I'd like to see a turbocharged 2.4L DI engine in there. That would easily pass the 300hp mark.
  8. Browsing through the article I didn't see the "is expected" expression regarding the GTO, so there may be some solid news coming out. This doesn't change my mind about the relevance of the GTO in recovering Pontiac (I think it's the core products that will be the deal breakers or makers in recovering Pontiac's image), but the Satesman news brings something that may keep the momentum I'm sure Buick will enjoy with the Enclave.
  9. Never happened to mine. What I can tell you is that my car has terrible materials and interior build quality... If that's BMW typical build quality, I'm not buying anything from BMW ever again... It is incredibly fun to drive, though...
  10. This move, as a business move, is understandable. However, Pontiac isn't showing any clear direction other than rebadging Chevys and labeling them as "excitement" vehicles. I hope they can push for something special for Pontiac, and I'm not talking about the GTO: 15K to 20K a year isn't something special, it's jut a halo that has to be followed up on.
  11. Quote from camaroz28.com post: "but an all-new model is expected to return at the end of 2008 as a 2009 model". The key here is the "is expected" expression. There's a lot of work to be done until it gets green lighted: development costs, sales/margin targets, facility where the cars will be built, investments in that plant, payback and rate of return for those investments, moving the business case through internal politics and so on. Although Lutz is optimistic, it's not yet a done deal.
  12. I thought that thing on the mirror was a light reflex. me = I think the tailights will be much like the Astra GTC: on the red bottom half you'll have the parking, brake and fog lights, and the dark smoked upper half will have the turn signals.
  13. No rear foglights, no amber turn signals in the back, no turn signals on the sides. That's what appears to be missing to make it comply with EU regs.
  14. My wish-list: Solstice - 2 seater roadster and coupe G4 - sedan and wagon (and 2+2 coupe, maybe? Perhaps the Solstice's price-range would make it unfeasible) G6 - coupe/convertible and sedan They should all be lightweight, RWD (G4 and G6 with optional AWD), all versions with manuals as standards. And without fake wood inside, please. This beig just a wish-list, I have to say I doubt we'd see such a refocus until the end of the decade, if ever!
  15. That's the rear end they should put in an Astra sedan. Actually, the 4-door's volume in the US might mean you guys could get the 3-door and 5-door buit in Europe, and we Europeans would get the 4-door that is missing. But this is just my wishful thinking...
  16. The only thing the Astra's lineup is missing is a sedan.
  17. It will keep the plant running near peak capacity (hopefully) and it will buy (little) time before GM figures where Pontiac is going. It's just a quick fix not to loose volume...
  18. Nobody likes badge-engineering, but at least it will keep the plant running between the current and the Ion replacement. It will also buy some time so GM can figure out wht to do with Pontiac, and that's what's important for GM right now.
  19. It will be sold alongside the CTS. The BLS will be in dealers this spring, I believe.
  20. I'd say ZL1 is the best name (see screen name) EDIT: it should be called SS, to fit the Chevy performance line.
  21. If the new mainstream products are as good as has been reported, then halo cars such as the Blue Devil may make it easier for people to take a look at GM cars. And (hopefully) with the Camaro moved forward any other RWD programs can be moved forward also.
  22. Some necessary steps and signals to the market that they do want to turn the company around. But the core of this will be the efforts to bring capacity in line with demand, and using global product development to use those dollars more efficiently. And let's hope the Delphi fallout isn't much larger than what they accounted for in Q4 2005.
  23. Because Merrill Lynch may be an advisor to GM, and Tracinda is an investment company, not an advisory services company.
  24. You drove the concept? I envy you!!! :P
  25. 2 questions: What's the retail/fleet mix? How did each of those segments contribute to the sales growth?
