  1. I thought you were implying something drilling
  2. I hope a mid-range V8 is offered, but only after the STS MCE or the NG STS. If this car gets the Northstar with the STS as it is now, it will murder the STS.
  3. Enron
  4. The ETC is Cadillac's most distinctive design during the '90s IMO, so that influence is more than welcome.
  5. This design will make a very nice looking coupe, IMO. And speaking of coupes, now I know what this rear end reminds me of: '90s ETC!
  6. So this is a Comanche comeback of sorts, but this time as a BOF model.
  7. I really like the interior design, but I can't get past the ugly exterior...
  8. That's the fun part!!! What will Cadillac make of the NG STS?
  9. No, it was just a small 'provocation' :AH-HA_wink: But this has nothing to do with Congress, unless Congress legislates on a national health care scheme that takes the cost away from carmakers to tax payers. That's the only way of 'leveling the playing field'.Regarding the UAW, I have a feeling they're dead already, but don't know it yet. Any confrontation with GM, Ford or DCX will be disastrous, and either they cooperate with or they're toast. What happens with the Toyota and Honda US labour force is irrelevant IMO because the UAW won't get them massively unionized: both Toyota and Honda are smart enough not to make the kind of concessions the Big 3 have made.
  10. poor excuse?
  11. Well, I'd be more concerned about the slight misalignment of the carbon-fiber trim behind the steering wheel (left side in the high-res interior picture), but since these are still pre-series cars, I'm sure everything will be fixed by the time the car arrives in showrooms.Another thing I'd like to know is where the side turn signals and the rear fog lights will be placed in export models: Those little details can ruin a car's looks and I hope Cadillac adapts the car to export regulations like they did with the XLR (extremely subtle differences between US and export models) and not like the Escalade. From these pictures, and even with my little nitpicking above, the CTS deserves an A+. EDIT re those of us in Europe: will the 2.8L get DI too?
  12. Audi could be a more natural extension of Porsche than VW: upscale but not as much as Porsche. I have my doubts Porsche wants to break the VW group, though. I think they see their stake in VW as a value-creating investment. The only major thing I see happening with the VW Group brands is Seat: totally unfocused brand.
  13. Bugs Bunny just called and he wants his front teeth back.

  16. Good news. Advertise it, GM!

  18. Cadillac wouldn't be able to meet sales targets at the prices MB and BMW charge for their cars. Cadillacs still lack in reputation and it will take quite a few years of consistently delivering world-class products before they can risk setting prices similar to MB and BMW.
  19. VAT and other auto-related taxes differ greatly from country to country. As an example, in Portugal the BLS starts at EUR 39,650 while in Germany it starts at EUR 28,290. Well.... in Portugal the BLS has been non-marketed: I saw one ad in a magazine, I saw and sat in one at the Lisbon Auto Show... and that's it! I don't know if it's like that in the rest of Europe, but if it is then selling 100/month is quite an achievement!
  20. Well, what's happening is that Porsche apparently wants to take control the company away from one of the German states (Lower Saxony?). One rumour is that Porsche wants Audi.
  21. Aveo got an awful rating from EuroNCAP http://www.euroncap.com/images/results/sma...sheet%20(2).pdf
  22. I like this way of thinking!
  23. Black Bentley Continental Flying Spur
