  1. Both great picks.
  2. Nice! To bad they are so expensive.
  3. We don't buy no foreign junk. I have a hard time with our national debt being something we can't pay back as it is. I'm not going to screw my kids by adding to it. And for those of you that are willing; I expect you to be the ones writing the $25,000 check per person for my family.
  4. The Suburban is having a hesitation issue that the mechanic can't seem to solve. They've had it for over 2 weeks (and $2300) now with no luck. They have fixed things that are broken due to lack of care of the vehicle, and they are now not charging us for anything being done.
  5. That looks like the Homermobile.
  6. We thought of those, but the crash test results are just too scarey.
  7. So our 1999 Suburban isn't going to work for us, for different reasons. With that, I've told my wife it's going up for sale, and her next vehicle HAS to be under warranty. Here is our dilemma. The vehicle must carry 4 kids and 2 adults comfortably for long road trips, be able to accommodate a stroller behind the 3rd seat with a few bags of groceries, be under warranty for at least 12,000 to 15,000 miles, have the typical equipment (A/C, PW, PL, Cruise, etc) and cost under $18,000. GM's options; CSVs - Ugly, nice interior, decent ride, but just ugly Rendezvous – Just not enough space behind the 3rd row Trailblazer EXT / Envoy EXT – Just a little bit too expensive UGH!! GM why couldn't you make a nice looking minivan!!
  8. Interesting, as I don't think the tundra would qualify next year because it would no longer be considered a "new" model (being a 2007 model year to start with).
  9. They both sound like a crappy toyota or honda.
  10. You mean, like the media like to do to GM & Ford. I understand the point their making, even if they have to use specific items to make their point. GM & Ford do make some of the best quality, best gas mileage vehicles in this country. And like he is trying to point out, it's time we recognize that.
  11. I'll take it.
  12. Me too. Great book though.
  13. Actual definition of religion; Oxford dictionary definition (theistic): "1 the belief in a superhuman controlling power, esp. in a personal God or gods entitled to obedience and worship. 2 the expression of this in worship. 3 a particular system of faith and worship." Non-Theistic definition: "The word religion has many definitions, all of which can embrace sacred lore and wisdom and knowledge of God or gods, souls and spirits. Religion deals with the spirit in relation to itself, the universe and other life. ... In everything we do we run across the human factor. Humans tend to screw up even the most beautiful things God has given us. As a Christian, I find it sad that many Christian groups have used Christ's name for human gain. If you check out the Quaker Churches, you will generally find groups with little concern for the appearance of the church and themselves but rather you will see major concern for others (no matter who they are, where they came from and what they believe), the environment, and Christ.
  14. 2006 HHR - July 2006 - 16,000 miles 1999 Suburban - November 2006 - 93,000 miles 1991 Suburban - September 2006 - 115,000 miles (for sale) I've never owned a car longer than 2 years. Heck we didn't even keep our Cobalt an entire year before I traded it in on the HHR. We never have issues with our GM vehicles, I just like getting new ones on a regular basis.
  15. Small rear wheel drive vehicle would fit perfectly into that plant.
  16. Let me try this again. We use our Suburban like it's supposed to be used. I doubt it will have many shiny days in it's life time. Yes it will be cleaned atleast every other week, but the clean shiny look won't last long.
  17. Anybody keeping count of the toyota recall #? Especially as compared to GM, Ford, Chrysler.
  18. My take on the show; Worst display; toyota, all plywood and no paint or covers of any sort. It looked like they got cheap on the display Best display; Ferrari, how could one not fall in love with the car and the display Worst looking vehicle (new); toyota tundra, it just looked as wrong in person as it does in pictures. Best looking vehicle; Bugatti Veyron, how could one not fall in love with it Most disappointing vehicle; nissan sentra SE-R, more oomph and style needed. It just looked cheap and has a engine that just doesn't satisfy. Biggest surprise; Buick Enclave; It was even nicer in person than I expected. Biggest issue; 6 hours at the show, and I still didn't get enough time to see everything like I would prefer.
  19. I'm glad to hear they are bringing the hatchback here.
  20. After some pushing and shoving I finally got my wife to upgrade her Suburban to a newer one. We recently picked up a 1999 K2500. In regards to the fun parts, it has a 454 with a 3.73 rear end, skid plates, and the 2000 and up rims. The girls call it the fire truck because it's red, though it does have silver on the lower clading area. The badges say LT, but it has the LS equipment and you can tell someone switched them along the way. The equipment is a little odd, even for an LS. The mirror is electrocomatic with a compass, but it doesn't have the temp gauge as was standard. There is also no remote entry, though they could have been lost on the way. Do any of you know about commercial fleet ordering options at that time? Carfax shows it came for a corporation then went to a family which we bought it from. After some pushing and shoving I finally got my wife to upgrade her Suburban to a newer one. Did I forget to mention, we actually use our Suburban for what it's made for; 4-wheeling until you can't see the red.
  21. I just toured the Nummi plant this last Tuesday and saw the frame of a car I did not recognize. It was at a part of the plant they were working on. I thought it might be the new one.
  22. I thought GM had more than that at Detroit?
  23. Once you see it in person, you realize just how beautiful it really is. The attention to detail is amazing. Check out the mufflers for example. Both larger and fitting just like they did on the concept vehicle.
  24. I couldn't get enough of these vehicles at the LA Auto show. They are beautiful all around.
  25. They're just suggesting that they start forcing the market to follow what toyota is now building. 5 year cars.
