  1. Yeah, but the DTS finally did so I took the liberty of quickly, and poorly, chopping them back in. Here is a before and after.
  2. The 02 LS1 could beat an 06GT. Only the Cobra, with its' price premium and not very livable everyday road manners could beat it, and if the same money was spent on both cars it also would lose. Why is it all Mustang owners tend to have such grand illusions about their cars? I, too, have never lost a race to a Mustang. I would love to come up there and give ya a run and I'll even let you pick the car out of my sig. I'd recommend the firebird as it is the slowest, but I'll tweak it a bit just for you. The LeMans would just embarass you and losing to a big fat Catalina with that cute little chick car would force you to hide your face forever.
  3. WOW! I am NEVER this lucky! What a find, especially the Yenkos. If only they were filled with Pontiacs I would give the guy a call. Somebody's Merry Christmas
  4. Fastest I have a slip for if I could ever find it after moving 4 months ago was 11.2something. It was in a 69 Camaro SS Conv with a 69 Pontiac 428 that I had built and TH400 that I had also built behind it. Traction was a problem that even MT cheaters couldn't fix. We aslo had to put stupid looking airshocks on it to jack up the rear suspension enough to clear the cheaters and the left side still rubbed the wheelwell when we hit it. Ran a really tall rear end gear and the 1-2 shift happened around 60 and sent the car a little squirrelly. The 2-3 shift was also up there in speed, don't remember where though. Ran a factory stall converter from a 425HP vette as it was the only full size stall converter available at the time and wouldn't burn the fluid like the little ones did. It also acted like a flywheel and stored energy for the shifts so you got a real mean torque kick when it upshited. Plus Pontiac motors are torque monsters already and since they have unforgivingly low redlines, might as well use the torque instead of the HP. All that was under the hood and without nitrous cuz only babies suck on bottles. I have built several 428s as they are my favorite Pontiac.
  5. Yeah, right, except for the fact that they completely failed to mention that they, like the rest of the trucks, got totally stuck on that first buig hill. They vaguely alluded to the fact by their statement about the second attempt and then losing the co-driver. In fact, Honda is actually bragging about entering an outclassed truck, ill-prepared for the race at hand, and then retiring only halfway through the race. Have I ever told you guys about the time I drag raced a Banshee 4-wheeler against a 69 SS 396 Camaro. I had him by 4 car lengths at the 1/8 mile point. Since only the first half matters I won't finish the story. Honda is a joke as is the ridgeline. The rest of the story....... Yeah, he spanked me blowing by at about 120 a second later and winning by at least 8 car lengths. The Banshee, which was built for sand-drags except for a tire change to slicks, ran high 12 second quarter miles and I was racing a low 11 second Camaro. It was fun though and we were just racing for the heck of it.
