  1. A crappy riding and handling "marvel". It's bad and there is no denying it. BTW, goofy looking too. It seems that it is also starting to garner an image. An image of a "S**t don't stink" people behind the wheel.
  2. Hasn't anybody noticed this: "The firm's next Prius will be so efficient it will be the first production car capable of returning more than 110mpg. The newcomer is being developed to try to improve European sales. While the car has been a success in the US, it has met a mixed reaction on this side of the Atlantic, due to the popularity of diesel models." The Prius is strugling elsewhere. The noise about huge gains in economy is just that, noise wirh no substance. Reminds me of the typical Toyota bootlicker. Do it then talk about it. Otherwise its pure BS.
  3. Nobody here has touched the car. That may be the only statement based in fact around here, the rest is BS. Could be worse, go look at the Camry. Now there's a hideous car with a better reputation than reality. BTW, I couldn't disagree about base power more. Considering how wrong this and other forums were about Aura last week, not much more needs to be said. The net seems to be the place for bias to poison the wells.
  4. Let it be said, who really knows or believes when Toyota rates horsepower? They lie. Is there any doubt? None.
  5. From Saturn Fans: AURA Expected to be More Powerful than Comparable Accord, Camry SaturnFans.com • April 7, 2006 A draft version of this story was posted for a few hours in the middle of the night earlier today; it was immediately pulled when I woke up this morning. It contained some bits of erroneous powertrain information that should have not been included in the article; Saturn had previously announced the AURA's powertrain options last summer. The original story should have never been moved to public view on this site, and I apologize for any confusion that it might have caused. SaturnFans.com has learned that the 2007 Saturn AURA midsize sedan, which is planned to be unveiled next week at the New York International Auto Show, will initially be offered in two trim levels: XE and XR. This nomenclature is consistent with a teaser photo that was released last summer for the upcoming Outlook sport-utility. In the picture, beneath the left rear taillight was an emblem that read "Outlook XE." While all this is speculative at this time, multiple sources say that both AURA models will feature V6 powerplants. The AURA XE will reportedly get a 230hp 3.5 High Value V6 with variable valve timing, while the XR variant will be motivated by 250+hp 3.6 L VVT High Feature V6 mated to a 6-speed transmission. Incidentally, the latter engine may end up offering more horsepower than either of the V6s available in the Honda Accord or the all-new Toyota Camry. A 4-cylinder hybrid-electric AURA Green Line version is rumored for 2008. The AURA will feature "Euro-inspired precision-tuned hydraulic steering," according to Saturn General Manager, Jill Ladjziak. Pricing for the 6-cylinder XE model is said to be competitive with 4-cylinder Accords and Camrys. Those who have seen the production version of the car say it looks stunning. The interior is very similar to the concept; both leather and cloth seating arrangements will be offered. The exterior of the production AURA supposedly receives a few minor – very minor – changes, most notably in the front-end. It is believed that Saturn is saving some of the styling flair featured on AURA concept for the rumored upcoming Red Line model. If the Aura base sedan is priced competively with the 4s of the Accord and Camry, it will do well. That there is no Ecotec powered base level at the start of production is of absolutely no concern to me. The only real difference in real world mileage is for people who drive in urban settings, for me a 6 just won't make that much difference. I might give up a point or two of mpg but I also would have to tolerate being stuck behind tractors on secondary roads unable to pass. What people seem to have totally forgotten is that this is start of production. GM isn't going to build every single variation at that time. It is far smarter to go for the primary market and then branch out. The worries people are posting are without merit. GM will easily sell over a hundred thousand Auras in the first year. Bank on it. That's not bad from a zero start.
  6. You do know what "FJ" is an acronym for don't you? FFnnnnn Joke. H3 at least has the intelligence to put four real doors in the right direction. A true "mommy mobile". No matter what load of baloney gets laid out by the sympathyzers, the looks and colors of the FJ scream "gaymobile". In My Opinion (which will certainly get bashed from now on) the FJ is the "gayest" off-roader for sale now. But you tell why anybody looking for a working or bashing around ORV would want something like this POS? Especially in such effeminate shades. I've got to ask, everythime theres's a Toyota / GM comparison, SCIguy is here kising and licking the Toyota boots. Not saying you can't post but exactly who is paying you off? Wouldn't suprise me in the least that Toyota (AKA masters of deceit) employ people to run the net screwing on boards. I have no doubts they played that game during their cover-up of the sludge defect. Yep COVER-UP!
  7. Is this "review" a surprise? It's Edmunds, they've made being wrong about cars into an art form. Ever see any of their "inside info" on track? Only when they aren't first. I can confidently say they miss more than they get right. Everybody has to be good at something, it their case it's sucking up to imports.
  8. This isn't going to be a GM or Dephi going under matter. The entity that is going to get bashed is the UAW. UAW Delphi workers go on strike, Delphi gets a court order that recognizes the strike as violation of current contract and conditions, new workers get hired. UAW looks like idiots, loses all leverage with any and all corporations they have contracts with. If I were UAW member I would like the leadership to be in same boat as me. For all the noise they make about equality of sacrifice at plants, these bloated boobs don't lose much for leading the membership into oblivion.
  9. All those that decry the virtues of free trade, shouldn't free trade be a two way street? I'm all for competition but let's cut the crap, Japan is not a free trader not by any means, not even close and they admit it. The auto industry is where it is hitting now. it has hit elsewhewere. It is amazing that GM and Ford are able to compete at any level. What's worse is thge pure lunacy and arrogance displayed by politicians giving tax breaks to these same companies that are here to cut the current tax payers incomes. For oldtimers that remember the show Twilight Zone, remember the episode "To Serve Man", here's a synopsis and it parralels what Japan Inc is doing to this nation: http://members.cox.net/kaiotea/serveman.htm
  10. I've been all over the site and can't find anything remotely close to GM paying for Solstice placement. Is this a false alarm?
  11. Considering that each job "created" at the Georgia Kia factory will cost you the taxpayer $160,000, (yep even though Georgia makes the offer it's comes out of every taxpayer's pocket one way or another), this is not a bad deal by GM. On the other hand the public will get fed and eat a line of bull given to them by the press.
  12. And Toyota's sludge their oil for what reason? Anything but the defect Toyota won't fess up too?
  13. Along the same vein, I do not believe that I am the only one that was led (or shall I more accurately say, deliberately MISled) to believe that Toyota employed roughly 130,000 people here in the United States. It was a number that was tossed around at the same time they rolled out their NASCAR race car. But as the article imply's, it is perfectly fine for Toyota to twist a few words here and there to put a message in a potential customer's "mind". But on the odd chance a greedy American manufacturer forgets to dot an "i", it is symbolic of their inherent dishonesty. BTW, exactly who is deliberately manipulating currency values to put Americans out of work? Not "give value" but destroy the competition's profit. When the present is the past, what Americans are buying will be revealed as not the "best product" but the worst choice.
  14. When a car company tries to make everybody happy, they seem to make nobody happy. Considering that the 60s were a zenith of GM styling, why not use that time for inspiration. Give me a chance to buy a car with styling that I like, if it looks good with tailfins and chrome, so be it. One thing for sure, it seems that everything doesn't have anything going for it these days. It's like looking at a sea of flat-chested women. Not all of them have to be that way.
  15. Let's face it, the political structure doesn't care. If Senator Bevis "creates" jobs by using tax breaks that screw the taxpayers in Senator Butthead's state, he doesn't care. And if Senator Bluto gets funds to re-elect himself from people that are going to put jobs in his state in jeopardy it doesn't matter as long as he keeps his job.
  16. I hope your prediction is right. The 2.4 is a fine engine. Pontiac should not have any models with the 2.2. As far as Pontiac not having any small cars, the Vibe is still around. If there is one division that has lost it's way due to "brand management" it is Pontiac. Sure is odd that Pontiac is aligned to Daytona Prototype racing and the one car that has a production version of the racing motor, the GTO, is going away, at least for a while.
  17. And up to $3500 on a Titan.
  18. It is now official, the Titan can justly be labeled a "flop". I do get a chuckle from the quotes in the article trying to play down incentives, not fooling anybody, Nissan has put as much cash as posible on the seat of these trucks and still can't sell. It the next obviuos statement, with Titan floundering and Ridgeline getting no buzz, just why should the Tundra get a free pass? After all it is the third try after two mediocre offerings.

    .....

Anybody here care to remember how accurate Edmunds was about the Lambdas? Remember it took the great gods at Toyota three years to put the FJ into production and all it really is is a rebody of a Fourrunner.
  20. The real point of this thread should be how wrong Edmunds is.... again!
  21. After reading that and imagining the visual, I won't be able to sleep tonight for fear of waking up. Even worse is the thought of her gyrating on L Brooks lap.
  22. The posibilities are endless. Who wants to start the most ridiculous rumor? I say that GM is going to sell all the plants to Toyota and go non union. Or. GM has discovered the long hidden design papers for the Fish carburetor. Every car GM sells will have one and get 75 mpg and two thousand horsepower.
  23. It is no secret that Bill Davis racing IS the original NASCAR base for Toyota. I dare say it is not me that cannot see the obvious. The case Bill Davis lost is so similar to the case in F1 and what happened in IRL..... It's not just the Chinese that ignore patent infringement.
  24. You've got to understand that any engineer will drive a vehicle they don't put gas or money into anyplace, anytime everytime. translated, engineers are some of the cheapest people you will ever meet.
