Consider the pricing of the Acura RDX. R & T has a test this month of such an animal. Price as tested: $37,110. With a 4, albiet a turbo. I believe the Enclave will be in the same territory.

The only good CVTs are in snowmobiles, the rest are junk.

Bottom line, Aura is like seeing a magazine pin-up in the flesh, of course the reality sets in. Yeah she has a freckle or two. Camry is like seeing Philis Diller in person, no make up or airbrushing is going to hide the ugly. It's a trademark. Maybe the Camry will look better when they sell the "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity, Edition"
-
The Aura is at most stores now. The complaints on this board are not being echoed there. So what if the Aura doesn't look like a boyracer would drive it. The style flows front to back without needless and silly lines. Best part about the Aura is there will never be a Darrell Waltrip Edition.

It's so easy to prove Jerry wrong. Press loves Scion XB, case closed. The vast majority of the "Autobeat" "writers" just reguritate the bile the manufacturers feed them these days. How many shrimp has Toyota thrown at these idiots to buy good ink for the POS?
-
Hope this is the prologue for Lutz and Wagoner to cruise Woodward. And for Maximum Bob to do a burnout just before pulling in for a coney dog.

The real question of any adverstising isn't content. Remember the Corvette ad that safety groups raised a stink about and GM defered to those groups and pulled it? How brilliant is that? You get people to talk about an ad you don't have to spend a penny to show? So here GM puts up a few boards in "retaliation" for a boatload of spending on Toyota's part playing up the phony image of Toyota being American. How long until these boards get national press? On the subject of advertising, here's a link to a company that I'm impressed with. Heck of a slogan, http://www.bajajauto.com/avenger/index.asp
-
Maybe Toyota should put up boards that say "we're doing our best to skim tax breaks and send profits overseas" Or Honda can proudly proclaim "we run the top rated auto assembly plant in the states, top rated for injuries".Exactly how much is Toyota paying you to post here? Really now, I just don't see GM or Ford fans going out of their way to suck up on their fan sites. And considering the Toyota treatment delivered during their sham of cover up of the sludge defect, I don't think it's below them. You may procede to make all sorts of allegations now, I'm sure you'll find some sort of justification.

GM is trying to get away from the reputation the Avalon is earning, that being an ugly, shoddily built POS. By the way, Avalon sales are trending down.
-
I like that lame excuse, ALL Buicks are rentals. Why not try "the often recalled and with a shoddy reputation Avalon" is getting ignored in the market that Toyota blathered it would take over from Buick. Yeah, stir the pot. numbers aren't lying.
-
Can I post it to stir the pot? Avalon is a flop. Ugly Camry soon to follow.

It's sad in a way that only one GM car line could be considered overrated, that being the Corvette. Sad because nothing else with a GM badge is held in high enough esteem. Sometimes when expectations and perceptions don't equal reality......
-
Nope, nobody will pay any attention. Watch what Toyota does next, or should I say the next media spin that will go in their favor. They are starting to play a race card. Any lousy good for nothing that doesn't support Toyota is just a racist that hates Asians. They have already planted the seed for this ploy in several media oulets.

Wow somebody else that has figured out anything in Motor Trend is based on highest bidder. Let's face it, the car companies could teach the record companies a little bit about payola. As if nothing ever shows up for any test without being "juiced", either the writer or the car. BTW, who invented the word "comparo"? This person would be a good example for public execution. Crime being the spreading of stupidity by example.

No comments on the second row seating? If form follows, the White Diamond and Red Jewel paint will be a cost option.

If there were to be a merger, it would make the most sense to work with Honda. Forget about the model overlap here, it is of little consequence. Honda is still number 3 in Japan. It has almost no auto presence in China. Honda has little in the way of trucks. And since they are #3 in Japan, they may be the most vulnerable if the home market tumbles. Of all the companies that would result from a merger, GM / Honda would have the effect of curing all the product ills of the resulting corporation. Toyota would be threatened almost immediately. Ford would be all but history.

Don't know if this link will work but the Saturn site is allowing access to an Outlook spec sheet and a color wheel. : http://www.saturn.com/saturn/vehicles/futu...delLink=outlook
-
Let's see... GM "merges" with Renault / Nissan... Wouldn't that give the UAW representation over workers at Nissan plants in the US without the typical union busting done by the transplant management? As if the management of any of these transplants doesn't spread a few lies and threats to keep unions out.....
-
Has everyone forgotten that Kirk is still losing money on this stock buy? If any company will get beat up if they merge it will clearly be Nissan. It serves no purpose excpet in the very low end of Asian markets.

Sounds like the New York Times has some fans here. The people here speculating about the inner workings of any engineering department or design team know less about what is going on than anybody else. If some people want to be shills, be obvious about it. In my opinion tryting to hide your shilling behind double inflections and twists of words is baloney. In other words, you come here to trash GM, go for it, you here to trash Toyota, why bother to hide it. That's no BS.
-
Sales speak, these things are duds. Just like the XB, (and Aztek) nobody wants to be seen in them. Just because they are Japanese can't save them or justify them. You can stop trying to excuse them now.
-
Wouldn't it be more prudent to say the consumer pays when an auto company tries to build a car it is not capable of producing? My goodness, that would explain hundreds if not thousands of defective transmissions or nearly a million cars with substandard steering shafts or even millions of customers getting stuck with sludge prone engines. These days it's not building and selling just a car, it's selling an image. Or in some cases, plain flat out lying about your product. Let's cut the crap, Toyota built a rep selling basic cars, now that they are trying to go up, they are running into problems. What goes around, comes around.

The U vans have been scheduled to end at about the same time the Lambdas get up to speed. It's no reall secret that the Lambda has the capabilty to be shot off into different markets. MT ranks up there with Edmunds in accuracy. Slight to none.
-
Like a transmission that deletes shifts or self steering? Even with the camo, already this car has toasted the well recognized as hideous beyond measure Camry.
-
Brilliant? Why not just get a pick up truck? And if you really need to carry a load, pull a trailer. BTW, Element needs more of a motor to considered of any value.
