  1. Not all but most have trained people to watch for sales and rebate packages. Also dumping cars on fleets sales kills resale so many feel they need to get their pound of flesh upfront. Still even before the rebate train left the station there was never a need to pay sticker unless demad for a vehicle was so high and their numbers were so low. Pricing is all supply and demand but GM had to build the cars as closing the plants cost even more than over producing. Kind of a bad case and even worse case deal. The only way to get the cash back was with rebates to get at least some of the money back. Kind of a death spiral. I also spent time today in the Nox and Terrain. Much the same but the back interior of the terrain just was a black hole. It just looked Cheap. I need to see it in a dual tone and brighter interior. We were in all three Nox leather interiors and we like the two dual tone. Also drove the Hyrogen Fuel Cell Nox today. If the electric motors are similar to the Volt it was a good drive. Lots of instant torque like a RC car.
  2. 2.0 Turbo engine with the up grade kit is my daily diver. I know as well or better than anyone here. I only hope GM has plans to keep and upgrade it for more models in the future.
  3. Check this web site now and then as it has all the details long before it appears else where. If is great to find the model year changes. More 2011 models should show up in the next 2 months.
  4. The car looks better than the Cruze.
  5. Here is the Regal info on the GM web site. http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2011&butID=1&regionID=1&divisionID=4&vehicleID=10162&type=0
  6. Other than a ZR1 who pays sticker? Once demand catches up and the few idiots stop paying too much that one will be a good buy. I have averaged $7K off sticker off my last three GM cars.
  7. I have seen some that have been well done and will fool you till you are up close. None were on Chevys.
  8. There are many wheels from GM anymore I am not a fan of. A good set of wheels can make a car and a bad set can kill a cars looks. I mean if they can spring for a good set of Forged split 5 spoke polished wheels on my HHR SS why can't they do something as an option on the Bu and Cruze. Even the SPO wheels suck. I also think they can so something better than the cheap base wheels too. The little more it would cost would translate into enoguh sales to pay for it. Here is the what I mean on the Bu. The LTZ wheels just enhances the image of the car more. It makes it look more expensice VS the wheels on the LS.
  9. So they have someone to show the new guys were the bathroom is?
  10. I would also check with other dealers. When I bought my SS I had one dealer who would not search very far for what I wanted and then I had another that was willing to go anywhere to get what I needed at no charge. It was the end of the model year and I had to change the color and get a roof rack but for the price I got It was well worth it. It was my own fault I waited too long but I did find a dealer and salesman that worked with me 3 days to find what I needed. He was willing to send someone to GA from OH to get what I wanted in the right color till the dealer there backed out of the inter dealer trade. By changing colors It saved me 3 months to order one and about $2,000. If you want the vehicle bad enough there are ways to work this out. I would press this dealer to find one that is close and has a few more options then sell it for the same price. Make a free upgrade so to speak to save the sale.
  11. Just another example of why I keep saying in 5 years Buick is not going to the same company it has been. I will have fun seeing some of the new models come and many here who hated Buick start to consider them as a future purchase. If you can sell this to the fan boy critics here GM hs a chance on the open market.
  12. The best thing here is this is a car I don't think we will see Chevy offer. More true divison identity to set Buick apart.
  13. It will be intersting how well this car will do. It does make for a nice looking wagon.
  14. It is not GM's fault her current car is failing. So she needs to share some of the blame here if she waited too long. To order a car that span is not a bad time frame for a car that is a hot seller. If she wants it that bad she can change colors or some options to speed it up if she wants one that bad. IF she gives up on on the nox this easy it sound as if she really does not care that much what she buys. Just try to order a Honda or Toyota not in stock! I have had friends who had to wait months for the right ship to come in with the car they want. Good things only come to those who wait.

    Regal GS

The OPC has 325 HP V6 If I recall. Buick originally stated the GS might have 250 HP if it came to market. 10 HP less than the Cobalt SS and HHR SS. GM also has a history of bring cars to market with more HP than stated over the last few years. GM also has the much delayed upgrade for the Cobalt SS coming and guess what it has 280 HP with 320 FT-LB. All it takes to change HP is change the T maps and reflast the computer. Nothing else is needed. If they wanted to go over 300 HP they can do that too if they really want to. The only limit on the HHR and Cobalt has been the transaxle. But with the AWD option I could see them adding more later if needed. THe 2.0 can do much more than we have already seen. It just never had a good tranny. I spoke to the engineer this week that is heading the upgrade for the Cobalt and they may offer a stage 2 later for the Cobalt SS. He would not say why the upgrade kit is 10 HP done and 5 HP up FT-LB up from the HHR. The kit is getting cleared for California and all 50 states and should be released soon.
  16. Just to let anyone who might care know Pontiac's are still taking to the track in 2010. Ken Black Racing will field two G6 GXP Summit Racing Pro Stock cars this season. These also are not last years cars But entire newly built Pro Stock cars. Greg Anderson said they will keep with the Pontiac's still fully marked as Pontiac's and GXP's this year even without GM's Support since GM left the NHRA. Greg said they hope that GM will return soon back to NHRA and they hope to represent GM with a new car. It is common for teams to remove the badging as soon as the money stops. I noted Warren Johnson and his son both will also keep the GM cars on track this year too. I could not find out but I wonder if Chevy may return to NHRA with the Camaro? Either way with the way they run Pontiac is still not done winning races and still might win another championship for the now gone brand. I will poke around and see what else I can find out with some of my friends connected to the NHRA and GM teams.
  17. Similar idea but the SC looks like a Eaton Magnuson Supercharger. It is about a $8,000 system if I recall correctly for the Vette. Looks like great performance but man is that SC noisy. Sounds like a old Pete Jackson timing gear set. I am suprised it does not mess with the knock sensor.
  18. Check out the rest of this. James May flew in this trainer U2 for Top Gear. Some cool shots at 70,000 feet. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=1PmYItnlY5M
  19. I think that this really is a good design but I think we all had expected a smaller SIXTEEN and feel a little let down. From what they say it looks better in person and for sure it is as good as the present CTS or the 90's STS. As for the other issues. Cadillac needs to build on the CTS. Jumping up to a $120,000+ sedan is not going to get them anywhere right now. The market for the top dollar cars per the Wall st Journel is down and many people are replacing the car with lower priced models. This means the market is coming to Cadillac. Even people of means are now value shopping even in the Luxury class. As for the engine Cylinder count any more will become more a psycological deal. BMW and most of the other either have or will start cutting cylinders in many cars. As long as the HP is up and performance is there they should do well. We have yet to see what all they can do with the 3.6 yet. AWD will be fine here as long as handling is up to par with the RWD cars. Before anyone condems or approves this car we all should look it over and see just what all GM has planned for it first. Nothing like letting the real facts get in the way before we pass judgment. The mear mention of AMC in a Cadillac thread I suspect this car is only a building block to Cadillac's future. You need to get on base before you can score. Too often the guys going for the fence walk back to the dug out on strike three. Cadillac can not afford any stikes and I assume they will play this game a little conservitive to win in the long run not in the first 2 years. The bottom line is this I suspect car will move up in time and with the next model. You have to walk before you can run. It is hard to pry butts out of Benz and BMW with out proving youself in a good economy let alone a bad one.

    $1 billion?

I also expect a lot of weight reduction in the half ton trucks. Now that it looks like Ford will offer the Ecoboost V6 in the F 150 it will be interesting to see how gm responds.
  21. I saw it from the start. I always felt the present cars and show cars all came from the Cien. The Converj for sure shared a lot with the Cien. I had hoped the new XTC had been a large 4 door version of the Converj look.
  22. Well based on what I have been told by people who have really seen it in person I will not condem it till I see in in metal. I have seen it said more than once the photos's just do not show how nice it looks. The photo's to me remind me of a upgraded Ford 500. It looks tall and boxy. This should do well or as well as the present car. I have no issue with the AWD vs RWD. The people who will really buy this car will not care. Also the HP if at 350 HP or more will be enough. Again most buyers of this car don't count cylinders. GM built a good car here but I think they over promised and we all over expected on this one. I suspect this is a bridge to what we will get in the future. Lets face it the CTS was not right the first time for many reasons that were corrected later.
  23. I for one hated the Terrain when I first saw it. Today Hate would not be what I would call it but I still would not buy it based on looks. With that being said I am glad GM did it and did not just clone the Nox. It is like most cars here if GM built car that all of us here on the site liked many would do poorly in the open market because they would only connect with a part of the market. GM has enoguh models here to connect with most markets and they all have to be different to make them worth while. The movement to make the Terrain a little more upscale would I think also help this vehicle. If it is in a Buick Dealer it should be a of a Buick like premium standard. the bottom line it is time for GMC to be more independent in more ways from Chevy. The Granite also would be a way to single out GMC from Chevys shadow. Give people a reason to choose GMC over a Chevy other than the Grill.
  24. That is my point if this is a GMC and is sold in a premium dealer give this thing a few premium options over the Nox to make me willing to pay more. A 3.6 or LNF not offered in the Nox would make this stand out to most as really being more than just a restyle. Also some extra options to the interior that would set it apart. Make the Terrain a real bridge between Chevy and Cadillac. They could do it without a re engineering of the vehicle. They got the styling set apart now just complete the deal a little more. It may be smoke and mirrors like a Magic trick but some magicians are better than others too in how well they perform their tricks. If they can give make the Lacrosse with some premuium features as AWD and Quiet technology to bridge the gap between the Malibu and Cadillac then they should do the same for GMC. GMC is nothing more than the Buick truck division now.
  25. That is my point the roof on the concept was too low to ever have made production.
