  1. Maybe GM should "re-badge" all of their performance oriented cars into one brand to see if people really care about buying unique pocket rockets and one-offs from the rest of the production. I know! They can call it "Pontiac" and sell this version of the Astra as the "Le Mans".
  2. Cadillac is going back to having exclusive Cadillac engines that will be separate from the rest of GM. If the LT4 lives on in other cars, then it would only make sense to be in a Camaro (and SS sedan perhaps?). Regardless of whether or not engines like the LS7 continue in production, the real question is when the government standards get rid of all these engines altogether. For all we know, the base model 2.0T will be the only power plant available by the end of the decade.
  3. I am curious. Now that the Camaro6 and Corvette7 are finally here, does that mean that the LS7 will be retired? That engine has had a 10 year run. Will it continue in the Z28 form so that the LT4 goes into the ZL1 and become a Hellcat fighter?
  4. I guess a limited production Z28 or ZL1 will get the LT4 eventually. The exterior is very sleek which I like but the interior does not make much of an improvement over the 5th gen car. It is still a bit to bland and cheap looking.
  5. You can get a 2016 Camaro with a 2.0L 4 cyl. putting out 275 hp and 295 ft lbs. of torque. There was the 1993 Camaro Z28 with an LT1 V8 that put out 275 hp and 325 ft. lbs. of torque. I'd say there has been some progress made in engine technology and efficiency in the past 20+ years.
  6. "The MSRP was, indeed, a mouthful." Um, I think potential buyers were more concerned with another bodily orifice when they saw the $75,000.00 price tag.
  7. The "Lexus" RC should have been a new Supra. I would have been in a better position against the 350z and all of the U.S. muscle cars. They would be selling a lot more than 15k units per year if that were the case.
  8. That is the way this business is going. The Viper needs to concede to government regulations and its new ownership structure to stay in existence. It is only a matter of time for the V10 to become extinct. Enjoy it while you can.
  9. Does the door open just a little bit for the chance that the trident could be replaced with a prancing horse to maximize the economy of scale in producing an Italian CUV? Or will this be a cousin to the future of Jeep?
  10. I'm thinking that there may be more responsible purchasers out there for this one.
  11. Price? Are these going to be the "it" car on the auction circuit in a year?
  12. Merge two of those 3.0L V6 blocks to create a V12 for this beast!
  13. I think so too: maybe two 2.0L blocks paired? Wouldn't that make it an inline 8? I'd rather see two 3.0 v6 blocks paired for a V12. A V12 should be considered if that configuration will still be used by European brands. But the 4.0L V8 twin turbo speculation is the most reasonable.
  14. Are they going to make a single cab/short bed model anytime soon? I'll take one of those with the 5.3L V8 from the Silverado.
  15. My comment it not limited to just being snarky. The Government has the entire auto industry chasing its tail and being penny-ante with the MPG requirements that are MANDATORTY in 10 years. Add two more gears in a transmission, put some aluminum in the vehicle to reduce weight, and maybe there will be enough MPG to make the Government happy. If only you could legislate technological breakthroughs. Maybe Congress should pass a law making cold fusion viable. I see no change in the mass use of the internal combustion engine for the next 50 years. Trucks are built to haul things and go off-road. You can't properly quantify MPG on trucks when they are used for their proper ends. Under those conditions, that MPG average is a moving target and you cannot hold the industry responsible for the consumer consumption of fuel. Of course, the industry is just as guilty classifying certain cars as "trucks" to avoid the MPG stigma.
  16. I always like the proportions to the Rapide over the Porsche Panamera. The Rapide's look worked as a sedan as opposed to the Panamera looking like a stretched-out 911.
  17. I am a big fan of the Italian exotic.....
  18. So long as there are girls at the Auto Show exhibit like these every time Alfa Romeo comes to town, then you can count me as a buyer; http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2015/1/14/Check-Out-The-Gorgeous-Girls-of-The-2015-Detroit-Auto-Show-7724842/
