  1. PSA may try to use this purchase as a means to come back into the North American market. Also, Europe does not have Chapter 11 BK in the same way that the U.S. does.
  2. While sites like this would be a great supporter of such events, the Internet does not help with keeping secrets for very long about the next new, new thing. Also, it is hard to get excited over a vehicle that most people can't afford to buy brand new anymore. At least, I'll still do back flips when the new ZR1 is revealed.
  3. This makes sense with their current vehicle line-up; 1/2 series 3/4 series 5/6 series 7/8 series I hope the 6 series "grand sport coupe" 4-door is cancelled. It just never made any sense to have it.
  4. The grille reminds me of a 1969 Coupe De Ville. That gives props to the old school design. I want more details about these new V8s though. How many will there be and what kind of output will they have?
  5. The only criticism I have is consistent with everyone else so far - the headlights need to be vertical. Otherwise, the front end looks a bit too much like a new Mustang. Everything else seems like Cadillac is tipping the scale in the right direction.
  6. And they couldn't green light this to save the brand?
  7. The Emperor ought not dethrone Cadillac as the king of luxury and performance.
  8. I believe "Corvette Summer" was made before "Star Wars" and the studio held on to it to try and cash in on Mark Hamil's new found fame. That movie has gone the way of high school auto shop.
  9. Put the Impala on the Alpha platform with an LT1, and then we'll talk sales increase.
  10. I say that because of cars like the 1996 Impala SS, the 1988 Pontiac Fiero, and the 1987 Buick GNX all hit their stride on the last model year of production. GM could have kept making those cars, made a lot of money, and made a lot of customers happy.
  11. Because it is the progression of marketing and odds are the next performance model not mentioned yet at Holden will be even better. It is not to secret that the C7 will get a mega car before they move to the C8. Word is it will have well over 700 HP.
  12. After watching videos like this, how can anything live up to the Commodore platform from Holden? http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-chevrolet-ss-takes-e39-bmw-m5-ignition-wvideo/
  13. That would be cool, too. The C7.R racing engine is a 5.5L v8. Maybe the Z/28 gets that block? Such a move would be more of the original engine choice for the Z/28 with the smaller displacement because of the rule limitations and high revving performance.
  14. Sure hope you are right. A new V8 engine in the stable would be awesome.
  15. I hate to be the nay-sayer on this one. But I don't think there will be a Z/28. Unless GM has something up their sleeve with an LT1 engine update where the Z/28 is the first model to get that power plant, I don't see how it would fit in the current line-up. There are no other engines that the Z/28 can use that are unique for the Camaro and all of the extra "Z06" type suspension parts are pretty much in/on the ZL1. But will GM FINALLY make that mid-engine ZR1 Corvette and the Z/28 will get the engine?
  16. They need to plan ahead with engine performance upgrades without a completely new drivetrain. I'm sure there will be almost 500 hp in the next few years.
  17. Definitely one of the best designers that GM ever had. Ed will be missed.
  18. My dad had a 1983 505 turbo diesel. What a POS. I saw the significant improvements that Peugeot made in the late '90s. This move might also be part of the ongoing agreement between the US and EU to standardize emissions and crash ratings for both continents. If PSA thinks they have what it takes, then let's see what they got.
  19. If only GM found a way to bring back Pontiac with cars like this. It could easily be a Le Mans that goes against the Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper. Sporty, personal performance.
  20. The wheelbase for the current SS is 114.8 inches. The wheelbase for the current CTS is 114.6 inches. The CTS-V already runs the LT4. The new "SS" can easily run the LT1.
  21. Cadillac gets the ATS Coupe/Sedan Buick gets the Avista Coupe/Sedan Chevrolet gets the Camaro/Impala Long live the Alpha platform.
  22. So Toyota is going to 86 the Scion brand and bring back the Celica? Ok. Will Subaru still be a partner in this platform? After all, it was Subaru and not Toyota that did most of the heavy lifting to make these cars a reality. At least Toyota can say they have a half-way decent sports car in their line up. However, I still wait with baited breath for the return of the Supra that, at some point, will be officially official by the end of the decade.
