  1. Dude, what if you get lag in the RL?
  2. What do you mean "better"? Richer? China is certainly not going to be better in terms of human rights and happiness of its citizens. Child labor laws were made in the early 1900s, much before the second wave of immigration in the 1920s. Most immigrants from back then came specifically to send money back to their families, and had little allegiance to this country. German-Americans supported the Kaiser in WW1, along with the Irish because they despised the British. Immigrants from Europe were also bitterly racist against African Americans, because the Great Migration to the North threatened the low-paying factory jobs of immigrants. And back to the subject of the usefulness of illegal immigrants, the Transcontinental Railroad was made by Chinese workers working in unbelievably dangers conditions because they had to blast through the Sierra Nevada. The railroad going the other way to meet with them at Promontory Point was mostly Irish immigrants. On the subject of emissions, what are you referring to? (If it's cars, factories like Carnegie's steel mills polluted a hell of a lot more. You should look at photos of Pittsburgh from around 1910.)
  3. Amherst, MA. Home of UMass Amherst, Westfield State College, and Amherst College. The first is OK, the middle one is awful, and the last is the second-best liberal arts school in the country. However, it's in the middle of freaking nowhere and UMass is officially the most violent college campus in the country.
  4. $1.1M is menial for a CEO of a large corporation. And back to this business of "no one being left to buy GM cars produced in China", that's just bogus. Sure, some people in Detroit will lose their jobs and grumble a lot, but on average the cheaper vehicles make Americans richer.
  5. The rhetoric in this thread is bordering on flat-out racism. Anyone with Chinese, Eastern and Southern European, and Irish ancestry (along with others) should ask their great-grandparents how legal their immigration was. My great-great-grandfather, for example, had his boat from Russia turned around before docking in NY, so he jumped out and swam for land.
  6. Those pictures in the sun look fantastic.
  7. So everybody that's not from England and northern Europe should be kicked out?
  8. Saw a new Camry today. Looked much better than it does in the press pics.
  9. Even if they've made 200,000 Camries, 0.5% is still only 1,000. So this is nothing serious, only slightly embarrassing.
  10. Why would the Captiva be in the US?
  11. Not a bad list of changes for the Malibu's last year of production.
  12. I say you should look at the new S-class, which is always a few years ahead of the curve in hot technology.
  13. The key-fob looks really cool.
  14. Dharma and Greg is the worst show ever.
  15. It looks bizarre and boring at the same time. I hate all the lines that don't line up and the very Korean rear-end.
  16. Wouldn't importing the car from Germany be even more expensive than making it here? German labor costs are rediculous and the Euro-USD exchange rate would slice profits even more. Sending the Brazilian-built Astra seems like a good idea though.
  17. Here's all I have to say about that: http://www.break.com/movies/wowjerkoff.html
  18. Keep in mind that we already have spy shots of the VUE: http://www.thecarconnection.com/images/gal...EMBRVRVJEZM.jpg http://www.thecarconnection.com/images/gal...ZSIXAPUHYUL.jpg
  19. Good to hear. Hopefully the 3.6/6-speed combo finds its way into every 3900 or 3500 engine bay.
  20. The wood strips on the door panels line up with the dash now in the Aura.
  21. This article says the Outlook will be available in Spring 2007; what is the actual date from someone who knows?
  22. The interior looks fantastic. Too bad Eclasses cost so much more than the competition.
  23. Hey look they put a piece of wood trim on that weird shiny part of the shift handle.
