  1. I learned cursive in 3rd grade and haven't used it since. To be honest it's a very rare day when I write anything by hand--I bet in the relatively near future they won't teach handwriting at all in school.
  2. Thanks for posting. I'm not sure that interior is really right for Buick though--maybe a Vue style center stack redesign is in order?
  3. Cool! Way better than police Chargers IMO. What happened to the currency problems though?
  4. I start work in a week and a half, so I'm looking forward to these deliciously awkward encounters. Some of your guys' stories are pretty funny.
  5. Yeah that makes sense. Only 100% of the firms responsible for the fantastic innovations highlighted in the video are based in the US where innovation and profits are encouraged and not totally vilified (yet).
  6. This video shows how great capitalism is. And we can only look to an even brighter future!

REPORT: Koenigsegg developing pneumatic engine technology and hydraulic hybrid powertrainsFriday, September 11, 2009 8:34 PM Filed under: Emerging Technologies, Hybrid, Saab Saab 9-X Air concept - Click above for high-res image gallery Ever since Koenigsegg emerged as the chosen buyer for fellow Swedish automaker Saab, rumors of a number of eco-friendly automobiles from the two automakers have been making the rounds. In addition to a production version of Koenigsegg's electric Quant concept from this year's Geneva Motor Show, we've also heard that Saab is hard at work developing a hybrid version of its latest 9-5 sedan. In an interview with Auto Motor & Sport, Christian Von Koenigsegg has revealed that both the automaker that bears his name and the recently-purchased Saab are both working on pneumatic valve technology from Cargines that could potentially offer a fuel savings of 20 to 30 percent. Further, Koenigsegg believes combining that system with a hydraulic hybrid powertrain could potentially result in a 90-percent reduction in total energy consumption and allow the automaker to build a performance-minded hybrid automobile. 8. Saw a bright yellow Gallardo in the pouring rain.
  9. I actually like the G6 (sedan) styling. I think it looks much closer to the concept than people here give it credit for, with its haunches and loooong wheelbase. I had an Ecotec rental last week and while it wasn't amazing, it drove competently and its interior was decent. However, "competent" and "decent" are not good enough, which is something I think GM understands better now than when the G6 was released.
  10. Wow nice pics Dodgefan. I've been meaning to post that I got a new car... I guess I've been having too much fun with it. :-p
  11. Buick Delta Compact Spied in China The 70s are back as Buick's Astra-based compact sedan was caught testing in China. Full story Buick Delta Spied in China
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if they're pretty stubborn about forcing you to postpone it, but you might as well give them a call to see.
  13. 3 or 4 weeks isn't trivial. I hope production goes back to normal soon.
  14. This is great news. Let's hope they can turn critical acclaim into sales, something they failed to do with some other cars like the old SRX.
  15. So the compact isn't coming until late 2011. Oh well.

    Vue vs G6

Ecotec. It's a bit sluggish but the transmission seems good.
  17. I wanna stay under $10k. I'm gonna go test drive this 2002 9-5 Aero in a few minutes: Link Nice set of features, and the 2002 has some nice upgrades over my 01. Dodgefan, I was thinking of swapping my steelies and also finding a dead battery at a shop and keeping mine, since it's only a year old. Is there anything else I should save?
  18. The adjuster just left my house. Within about 3 seconds of seeing the car, he declared "this is definitely a total." He said it looked like she never even touched the brakes as the damage to my rear was similar to stuff he sees from highway accidents. The trunk floor is all screwed up and pushed in pretty far. So I guess I have to go car shopping now. BTW I heard that I can take off the nice alloys on the car and bolt on my winter steelies before they tow it away; is this true?

    G20

If the protests turn violent like in Seattle, there should be very forceful punishment. That behavior is completely unacceptable.

    Vue vs G6

I have a G6 rental at the moment. It's actually better than I was expecting, but it's still a bit coarse and unrefined. I would expect the Opel VUE to be much more solid.
  21. I hope you feel better, redtruck. I guess I was lucky that I was hit by a little Acura; if your Explorer had hit me I might still be in the hospital.
