  1. You're a CBC guy, eh? I saw it on September 1st, on my way home from work. -RBB
  2. Ahead of its time? I guess everything old is new again. -RBB

  4. OK, the tint is off, and they're cutting me a check to cover the cost of the ticket. Here's an updated pic, with the sig pic: Satty - I was confused about that for a while. it's 35% of light allowed. My tint only allowed 24%. There's a light tint from the factory as well on the front windows (maybe 5%), which is nice. Thanks again, -RBB
  5. Hmm.. Thanks - I did not know that. I saw the cut lines, and assumed they were plastic: I do still think they look tacked on, thought. Don't get me wrong - it's not unattractive. But, given a ground up exterior redesign, I'd hope that they make the side look substantial without moldings - like the SRX, for example. -RBB
  6. I've already seen on ona Hwy 40, heading west just west of Mason Rd. I mentioned it in the "Car Spotting" thread. -RBB
  7. FWIW, I think those are black panels covering the sides and doors, so we really don't know whether there's any cladding or molding under there or not. Myself, I agree that plastic moldings do not befit a premium offering. The current-gen Escallade's I don't have much problem with, but I'd prefer that the "molding" be stamped into the steel itself rather than tacked on later. -RBB
  8. That looks very much production-ready. That also looks like someone did a bad job of photochopping a "rugged" background into a studio shot of the truck. -RBB
  9. Just the grill? The headlights are right off the A4. -RBB
  10. Is it just me, or does that look like a hearse. -RBB

    Car Spotting

I saw a '97 Ford Taurus with straight pipes coming out the back and a glued-on fake hood scoop on the hood. It was hawt. -RBB
  12. Thanks staceface. Re: driving through MO with tinted windows - I don't think you'd have a problem. Technically, I was tinted because my car would not pass a MO state inspection. Since your car is not registered in Missouri, I doubt the law would apply to you. I got word from the dealer, and the service manager couldn't have been nicer. Without my even asking, he offered to pay the ticket, to strip the tint from the front windows, and to give me a loaner car while they're doing the work. I'm very pleased. BTW, the dealer says state law was put in place to protect officers - so they can see what's going on in the car as they approach. Tint is allowed only for those who have a sensitivity to sunlight and have a doctor's prescription stating it is required. Thanks all. -RBB
  13. Spyshot! -RBB
  14. It was labor day weekend and cops were all over. I was doing 5 over on the highway, but the officer didn't cite me for that. I've left voicemails with managers, but haven't spoken with anyone of authority yet. I've been told that I'll get to speak to a manager who can do something tomorrow. I plan to be insistant, but reasonable - at least at first. I'll get nasty if I need to, but in my experience in retail usu. a pleasant customer gets more than does someone who's nasty out of the gate. I have to prove to the state that the tint has been reduced/removed within 30 days or I'll face another fine. I don't have to be pulled over again. -RBB
  15. Hey, I was wondering if I could get some advice from any lawyer/car-dealer-type people on here. I bought my car in March of this year - see the pic below, as it accurately depicts the car right after I got it. I got a ticket over the weekend because the tint on the front windows is too dark. It's a 35% tint, and according to the officer who pulled me over (really nice guy, BTW. Nothing against him), state law limits tint on the front passenger-side windows to no more than 25%. I bought this car used, but the tint was on the windows when I got it from the dealer. Aren't they under obligation not to sell a car that's illegal to drive on MO streets? I had no idea, or I'd have insisted they fix it first. I'd like for them to reduce or remove the tint on the front windows, and ideally to cover the cost of my ticket (about $85 bucks) as well. Thoughts? Ideas? Dirty pranks I can pull on the guys that sold me the car like this? :P EDIT: Via CARFAX, I know the first owner of the car bought it and drove it in MO, and it looks like an aftermarket (or at least dealer-installed) tint, not a factory job. Thanks in advance, -RBB

    Car Spotting

I saw a Ford GT on the highway yesterday. That thing looks amazing! I saw a Subaru B9 Tribeca on the road a couple of days ago. That thing does not look amazing. -RBB
  17. I'm pretty sure this thread is useless without latina pics. ;) -RBB

    Car Spotting

I saw my first Solstice on the highway on the way home from work yesterday, and a BMW Z8 was about 15 cars behind it. I'm starting to see more and more '06 Impalas on the road. Two more yesterday alone. -RBB
  19. ? I see the guage cluster and the shift knob. The steering wheel is the same, but had a different horn/airbag cover, which is OK by me. Overall, they look very different. The typical shopper won't see the similarities, IMO. -RBB
  20. "Is that a Spongebob car?" -RBB
  21. I'm not sure I understand this article. Selling a lot of cars is a bad thing? Lowering inventory of an outgoing model is detrimental to business? I know month-to-month numbers may slip a bit as the excess inventory dwindles, but I look at the last few months as very positive from a sales perspective, and with the '06 models MSRPs priced closer to actual transaction amount, there's no reason to expect a sales slump. -RBB

I saw it on Hwy 40 (also known as I-64) in St. Louis, MO. It had Arkansas plates, though. -RBB
  23. This is what I'd heard, too. But I'll defer to Evok, who I'm sure knows more than us...
