  1. Outlook?
  2. Looks like "Bullsh*t Buickman" is at it again!
  3. Ok, who's Gregg Shotwell? What's his resume like? Does he have experience running any global, multi-billion dollar corporations? Is he some tech guru that the internet boom spit out?
  4. It's been well established that Buickman consistently fails to respond to legitimate questions. Don't even bother trying.
  5. I want GM to do a hybrid diesel asap.
  6. The only thing really right with this Caddy is the interior. Everything else needs work. It needs to be RWD. And the exterior needs a redesign. GM was just plain lazy on this one. With great designs like the Aura, Camaro concept and Sky, I refuse to believe this is the best BLS GM could come up with. Cadillac needs first rate designs to establish itself in Europe and this isn't one of them. Even the Astra looks 10x better than the BLS. If GM couldn't get it right, they shouldn't have bothered at all.
  7. I was going to make the same point, Dsuupr. With the same engines, platforms and transmissions being shared across GM's many divisions, of course it's going to look like GM is spending less per vehicle than a company like Honda which only has two divisions.
  8. The Canyon and Colorado should look different. The Hummer H3T concept from a few years ago should be the GMC Canyon. The current Colorado needed a redesign the moment it went on sale. The design doesn't flow well.
  9. The Ion's been around for what, 3 years? Why do so many people with Ions feel the need to replace them so soon? I'd understand if there was a reskin but something about this factoid seems off.
  10. Hooray, just what GM needs, another premium 2 seater. I know it's only a concept, but I'd like to start seeing some great looking 4-doors from GM.
  11. Maybe it was an Enclave model not built to scale?
  12. If the original "article" never stated the Outlook was outright cancelled, then, at the very least, it was very poorly written since that is how such a large number of people interpreted it. Anyway, can't wait to see the damn thing. It's supposed to be great.
  13. I'm not close to anyone inside the car biz, but is "shelved" the same as "delayed"? Just wondering. I want to get the lingo down.
  14. The 2007 Malibu is supposed to get the hybrid Vue's powertrain. I can see that going over a lot better than the hybrid Accord if GM keeps the cost down.
  15. Yeah, those execs put in charge of turning around Delphi shouldn't be getting, or potential receive, as much as they've been promised. It's completely obscene. But union workers have had it pretty good; health care almost completely paid for, a pension & and pretty generous hourly rate. Pay and benefits for both sides needs to be taken down.
  16. GM should be doing something like this for EVERY car it sells.
  17. The styling on this thing is off. Like Petra said, this thing won't be a domestic killer. I have my fingers crossed for the redo on GM's full size trucks. I actually don't think it'll be hard for GM to maintain their market share in this segment. As long as they don't completely mess up the styling I think they'll be ok. I just hope the new trucks have a design that looks more evolved than the new Avalance or GMT900s.
  18. Well, this is a GM forum afterall. I think things are a lot worse in Ford's case because Lincoln is supposed to be an upscale division, yet they're getting nothing but rebadged Fords. Pathetic! Who in their right mind would pay Lincoln's premium prices for what are essentially Fords? What's next? Saab getting a rebadged TrailBlazer? Unthinkable! I'm suprised Ford hasnt' already given Lincoln a version of the Mustang with the way things are going over there.
  19. I have a feeling it's going to be a badge engineered Cobalt. Torrent anyone?
  20. This would do plenty well in the States. The current Malibu is not nearly as attractive as this car and it does decently.
  21. Is it true that Delphi supplies some parts to Toyota? If it is a company wide strike would end up hurting them as well.
  22. If Delphi does strike, can non-union workers be hired right away? I don't know how this works.
  23. I think that's a great idea, much better than having a typical 3-5 year warranty. Those don't draw customers in the way they once did. In fact, I'd say most people don't care about them anymore. They expect their new cars to be reliable. Why should they even need a warranty? I'm sure most car owners worry about having to get engine work done somewhere down the line because they know it might potentially cost them a lot of money. Having a program that would cover the cost of repairing those 5-6 engine parts with under 100,000 miles on them would go long way towards relieving some, though not all, of the worries a lot of customers have about GM's quality. Not only that, but it's a very clear and direct marketing message, kind of like no-haggle pricing or 0% financing, that no other automaker has. Assuming GM's engines really are this reliable, having this kind of engine warranty is something GM should really consider. I wouldn't market a program like this as a warranty, though. I'd spell things out for the customer. "If these engine parts don't last 100,000, we'll pay for their complete repair", something along those lines.
  24. I think it looks pretty damn good. If this was the Malibu, the Camry and Accord woudl really have something to worry about. Oh well.
  25. Has the production BLS been changed slightly from the concept? I didn't like the concept but like this pic of the BLS. It could be the angle of the picture that makes it look good. I need to see more production pictures.
