  1. No the Fit is not good cause it's a Honda, it is good because it is what people want and need. The Aveo/Wave/Swift+ triplettes are selling just as well. People want fuel efficiency, cheap insurance, and of course, since the Fit is an ULEV vehicle, the Federal Government gives buyers tax rebates.
  2. Well said man, our family have owned minivans for about ten years now. When my dad was switiching vans two years ago, I was trying to get him into a couple seven seater SUV's. He didn't wants anything else, but a minivan with sliding doors, and removable seats. The versatility is unbelievable in these things. They are also easy to drive, and they are quick. Getting rid of the Astro/Safari vans was another dumb move. There were plenty of customers out there who wanted the strength of a truck, however the versatility of a minivan. Something noone else offered, therefore GM had the advantage. So now, what is GM thinking, that they're going to shove it down minivan buyer's throats that cross-overs are the vehicle to have? No, those minivan buyers who want a cars with the sliding doors and removable seats, will buy from the makers who are still in the minivan market, the Japanese and the Koreans. Now, who's fault is it why people are running to the Japanese? The media's? The buyers? No GM's own fault for being so mis-managed and ignorant. I'm not bashing GM, I'm just bashing their management, and the way they think. They all need to be replaced by a new generation of people.
  3. What is Lutz thinking? He spends so much money and time and efforts concentrating on low volume products like the Solstice, and Sky. Meanwhile when it comes to products like these, that are obvioulsly in demand up here in Canada, he does this. Thinking that people will run after crossovers. No, theyre going to be running to the makers that produce minivans (hence, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler). Despite the fact that these vans are ugly, there are many selling, be it for family or business use. If he decides to pull the plug on minivans, then it would be a huge drop for GM. Message to Lutz, retire, the good old 90's at Chrysler are over. Concentrate on what people really want. Hence, fix the Cobalt, instead of giving us a half-decent compact product. Plus, fix these vans to be just as good as the competition's, and sales will pick up.
  4. Exactly, and it was distinct. The new one is too Lutzified. It looks like a late 90's Chrysler product.
  5. This is the exact issue I had when I drove the Pursuit when it first came out. 140 hp, where is the power??? I remember working at Honda and driving Civics with 115 hp, and they felt neck snapping compared to this. And the thrashy sound when accelerating, felt like the engine was going to blow up or something. I dunno, I guess American companies will never be good at 4 cylinders.
  6. As much as many of you love the new Impala, I still perfer the previous generation, my fav is the SS trim that had the supercharged 3.8 litre in black. http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/details.asp...12&adid=5654746 Example.
  7. Best of all, when you're driving something like this http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/details.asp...52&adid=4780033 Everyone moves out of your way on the highway
  8. Actually the used car dealership I used to work at, the Impalas were rated as the best American cars by the mechanics in terms of reliability and simplicity. I gotta admit, on the used car market, the Impalas are probably the best value in the sedan sector.
  9. Wow Reg, Im impressed, you're starting to see what I had been seeing is wrong with GM for years now
  10. Come to Canada, they're all over the place here
  11. corporate radio (whe...whe)
  12. Nope, they did not have time
  13. The KIA Rondo LX, it will sell great here in Canada. I like how KIA's just show up out of nowhere.
  14. You gotta be f**king kidding me? LoL
  15. Actually this truck I found to be ugly as hell when I saw it in pictures It looks totally different and better in person, much better, I'm impressed that Acura is beginning to style cars nicely again
  16. About time, a REAL police car
  17. Actually, it doesn't look bad in that trim Actually, if you drape a dark blue or black over a pile of crap, you can boost its appearance ten fold. 214632[/snapback] That's why fat-chicks wear black, because black makes you look thinner
  18. Actually, it doesn't look bad in that trim I'm just waiting for the dually HD version to come out
  19. Correct, the Tundra had potential, of being a good looking truck. The Chevys, however look like Tonka Toys, which are ugly, and dull. I'm sure the GM trucks will be a better choice for work, due to their reputation of being tough.
  20. Would you be saying that of it had a Chevy badge on it? They both are ugly trucks, but when you need a work truck, you don't really look at the looks.
  21. Good point Or get a base City Golf, with standard ABS and CD/MP3 player
  22. Been there, done that, test drove the new Wave sedan as soon as it came out. Was surprised at the level of improvement. However, the MAIN reason people buy cars in this class is for the gas milage, and unfortunltely, it loses here.
  23. I dunno why everyone is going crazy that this truck will hurt the GM trucks, just like the Titan was suppose to make a splash, and remember where that went. The new Tundra will do better than the current generation, but it will not convince loyal GM and Ford buyers to switch over. The only way it might make an impact is if Toyota offers the rumoured, Hino-powered HD model with a dually. This may attract the Tow-Truck and coffee-truck driver market, however Toyota has not impressed me with this. They need to offer more choice, a manual transmission is a start. As a UPS driver, and drive a 20-year old GM-based truck with the 4300 and an old four speed manual. I'm telling you, that shifting will always beat automatic, and especially when hauling heavy cargo. If Toyota can fufill the demands of ALL the buyers of trucks, then GM, and Ford will need to be scared, however, this will be a truck for people who don't really need a truck.
