  4. I was also shocked at the fact that a 'true black' was not offered when I originally ordered Acadia's for stock. However, the new carbon metallic color is pretty much metallic black paint, rather than flat black. I talked to my GM rep to figure this out. It is similar to what Toyota does to some of their 'black' paint colors, they make them metallic.
  5. Yes, the Epica is coming too, but he didn't have a time frame for it. To touch on concerns over Equinox sales....When I won a GM trip in September to France and Italy, I was lucky enough to get the chance to view the Captiva up close. It is much bigger than it appears in pictures, im pretty sure it is bigger than the Equinox. The interior can not be justified in these pictures, as I thought it looked way better in real life. To further prove that the Captiva is coming to Canada, It is already on our vehicle locator under Chevrolet.
  6. So my GM rep was in town yesterday, and I noticed on my allotment list that it contained "Captiva" on the Chevrolet list. I questioned him about whether or not it was a mistake, and he told me it wasn't and that it would be in Canada as a 2007 model shortly after the new year. I had been told this a few months ago, but I wasn't too sure about it. He confirmed that it is true and that it would be brought over from Europe.
  7. Not sure if they told us the release date from the GXP G6, if they did I wasnt paying attention. No, the refreshed Cobalt was not there, and I was quite disappointed. I was also hoping the refreshed 2008 Colorado and Canyon would be there.
  8. I was positive they said a Cobalt Hybrid for 2008...Maybe I was sleeping ? I caught the Malibu hybrid and the GMT-900 hybrids, and I was told that they are planning 8 hybrids by 2009. Did you hear something else? And would you care to answer some questions about the STS, as I didn't get a great glimpse of the car.
  9. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I had to travel home from Toronto today. So I talked to my GM rep to clear a few things up: • The clay model STS we were shown is not a brand new vehicle....but an EXTENSIVELY reworked STS for 2008. • The G6 GXP Coupe is identical to the one shown at Left Lane News. (Except they didn't show us the inside, so im not sure if that is the same, but the exterior is. And yes the spoiler was on it too.) G6 GXP Coupe at Left Lane News • The Acadia is more stunning inside than out. The interior is beautifully crafted, with rich looking materials. • To address the questions about Acadia and Enclave size, they are quite big. Much bigger than portrayed by pictures. • The Solstice GXP was just what you've seen, no hardtop. • Another point from the meeting....8 Hybrid models by 2009....including the Cobalt in 2008! • We were also shown the H3 SUT, very cool.
  10. I thought the same thing....there can't be a new STS already, but there is. It was a clay model (they told us that, and it looked very real), and they told each and every dealer there that it was for 2008. Just going on what they told us. Unless someone slipped up and was supposed to say.."begins production in 2008."
  11. Close to it, but not so overdone. Front ends are very similar though.
  12. Unfortunately no, they didnt get into very many details. Just the release dates.
  13. Yup, 275hp with the 6 speed auto.
  14. Well I just returned from the GM Canada dealer only autoshow in Toronto, Ontario. We were shown the production Enclave, Acadia, GMT-900 trucks, Equinox SS, Torrent GXP, G6 Coupe GXP, Solstice GXP, NEW 08 CTS, NEW 08 STS and finally the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu The Malibu literally stole the show. Everyones jaws dropped when they unveiled the car. It is simply stunning. Toyota and Honda have some serious competition coming, and thats coming from dealers who also own foreign dealerships. It will be available fall 2007, and we were told to watch for it on this years autoshow circuit. Before anyone asks....We were not allowed to sit in it. The Torrent GXP and the Equinox SS get the new V6, also in the Acadia and Enclave, which produces 275hp, as well as a sweet dual exhaust system. The vehicles have been lowered to the ground to produce a "low rider" appearance. The G6 GXP Coupe reminded me of a GTO, with a dramatic Pontiac grill up front. The Acadia is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L inside. Tight gaps and very nice materials grace the entire cabin. For all you Enclave lovers, you will be happy to know that from concept to production version, no one could tell the differences, minus the "show car" pieces, such as all the screens...Even the leather wrapped dash stays for production! I dont even know what to say about the 08 STS, it was another that was unveiled, as a clay model, and everyones jaws hit the floor once again. The 08 CTS looks just as it was shown when Lutz did the report on GM. The grill and headlights are identical. Again we did not get to see these vehicles inside. I was worried about the new trucks, however after being able to sit in them, I worry no more. The GMC, however is much more classy than the Silverado. I think I will be ordering more GMC's this time than Chevy's for the first time in history! Both interiors are wonderful, huge step up from the current generation. I liked the LTZ and SLT interiors the most though. Just thought I would drop a few quick lines to let you know that GM made it clear to us that they are serious about staying on top. If they keep bringing out vehicles like the 08 Malibu, than the rest of the auto companies should just toss the towel in now. No kidding. You won't believe the 08 Malibu, and I am critical on GM product.
  15. No, the suspension feels the same as before. Although the other thing I noticed in the 2007 was that it is quieter. The 2006 I drove had really bad road noise on the highway. On this one it is hardly noticable. So I think GM also added some new sound deadening materials.
  16. Well I just picked up my 2007 Torrent from the dealer yesterday and I am very impressed with the updates. I had previously driven a 2006 Torrent, but was turned off by the cheap interior. The new centre console, gauge cluster, and driver information centre are huge improvements over the old design. I also noticed that the steering feels better...I am not sure if GM retuned it or not ? Overall I am very happy with the vehicle, and for those of you who continually say the engine is weak; test drive one, it will change your mind. It has more than sufficient power and the 5 speed automatic is very smooth. Also, I am very happy that the Torrent has been given StabiliTrak, because in the winter it truly helps. Pictures below:

  19. Came across the new GM commercial on GM.com today. It's about time GM injected some 'attitude' into their advertising. Overall I think this is a great commerical. Good job GM ! Click the link to watch the commercial. http://www.gm.com/then_and_now/then_and_now.html
  20. Here is the engine chart from the order guide: MODEL CODES 2ZF69 – G6 SEDAN BASE 2ZG69 – G6 SE SEDAN 2ZH69 – G6 GT SEDAN 2ZH67 – G6 GT CONVERTIBLE 2ZH37 – G6 GT COUPE 2ZM69 – G6 GTP SEDAN 2ZM37 – G6 GTP COUPE
  21. Yes remote start is standard in Canada on GT and GTP. The order guide I got all of this information from is from GM Canada.
  22. TAPshift is included with the six speed auto, I forgot to put that on the changes. I find new things as I go through the order guides, because GM hasnt actually made a "whats new" section for the 07 G6 yet. So there could very well be changes to the interior. Here are a couple more changes I found: • The wood in the G6 is still optional. • Power adjustable pedals are now standard on GT and GTP. • Remote vehicle start is now standard on GT and GTP. • Leather steering wheel and radio controls are now standard on GT and GTP. • OnStar is still optional. Not sure what happened to the whole standard OnStar thing.
  23. Changes are posted in the Pontiac thread for the 2007 G6.
  24. Holy, both Aura models get the G6 GTP's steering system, Hydraulic Power Steering. I like the idea of the wireless headphones for the back seats too. EDIT: I just noticed that all 2007 G6 models come with Hydraulic Power Steering too, except the base and SE model.
  25. Yes, that is how the models go now. SE is a new model. Side head curtain airbags are standard on all models. Just the seat side airbags are optional on all trims.
