  1. Female: Christina Scabbia(Lacuna Coil), Shania Twain, Amy Lee, Terri Nunn(Berlin), Ann Wilson(Heart) in her early days and beieve it or not Milla Jovovich. Men: Geof Tate(Queensryche), Robin Zander(Cheap Trick), Peter Steel(TypeO Negative), Rab Halford(Judas Priest), Danni Filth(Cradle of Filth). As you can tell I listen to a variety of Rock (these days at the age of 43, to the shock of younger music fans I listen to mostly black metal from Europe) and some country.
  2. Christina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil is way better and has been around a lot longer though everyone thinks they copied Evanescence. Don't get me wrong I love Amy Lee as well. I wish they would both come out with new CDs.
  3. Queen of the rycheee....Tate is amazing! Lately their music sound like Niel Diamond, way to mello.
  4. Put my little sister in the later camp because that's why she bought her 630 convertible. She tested a new Viper and a new Corvette but passed because they were white trash cars and had no status. God forbid that a Viper or Vette would ruin her doctor status in Manhattan beach. Give me a break...
  5. I am starting to hate the fuction over form factor that is going on in current car design. I love fuction when it comes to motors and brakes/suspensions (nothing better then looking at huge vented cross drilled disc brakes and pistons) but when it comes to design it seems some of the grace is disappearing. The Enzo is ugly to my eyes, the F430 is not as good looking as the outgoing 360 Modena. This also applies to many other car companies.
  6. They are also for the most part a homogenus society whereas here in the US we are country of mixed ethnicity, religions, class, creed all with differing and competing claims to a slice of the american dream. I do not see how we can ever become a united front against all this unfair competition when we can not even get along with each other. For the most part Japan does not have to worry about most of this stuff.
  7. Thanks for the your effort anyhow!
  8. Is it me or does the profile look like a cross of the current Mustang along with the last gen Mustang with a more raked rear roofline? The car does look good and will have a great road presence. What will power this thing, a turbo 6 or will they get a ral motor like an 8 cylinder. I am still saving my greens for the Vette. Never mind I just found the other link twin turbo V-6 at $80,000. For sure I am saving for the Vette.
  9. I live in Antioch which is about 60 miles east of San Francisco. Our Cad/Pon/GMC/Buick is one of the larger ones in our area. The closest competitor is about 80 miles up north in Sacramento. The inventory on Pontiacs lately has not been large, I do not see a lot of GP because they are not selling. He does sell the most GTOs in the area and last month he got another 15 to add to inventory which at the time brought the inventory up to about 30 GTO according to the salesperson. I checked them out a few days later and all were auto except for 3 or 4 manuals. G6s have been in small supply, a few Vibes, no SV6, a couple of left over Grand Ams are about what make up the remaining Pontiacs but as I said earlier, other then the GTOs do not seem to be moving. (Well I have seen 2 new Torrents and 2 new G6 coupes on the road). There are too many Caddies to track but he started the year with 8 or 9 XLRs and he has only 1. He has a couple of CTS-Vs. Anything else I did not pay attention too because I am not a fan of the other stuff (that would be Buick). The reason I have an idea of stock is because I brought my TA in for an oil change and tranny fluid change so I had an hour or two to check out the inventory.
  10. Have you seen the lame Honda minivan where they equate the current Honda minivan with those cool customized vans of the seventies with the trick paint job and full custom interiors. Shaggadelllic man. I don't think too many families have been started in a Honda mini-van! :P
  11. Our Chevy dealer has virtually nothing left on the lot (it looks like a gone out of business lot) and our Cadillac/Pontaic/GMC/Buick dealer has little GMC inventory. Pontiac, Buick and Cadillac inventory on the other hand seems to be preety high. Hopefully they will rebuild the Chevy and GMC inventory.
  12. I am not sure that lowering the MSRP will help either. People have been continioned to think of GM as what is the "great deal this week" that they will not shop GM unless there is a deal/incentive/rebate/employee pricing somewhere in the price. If the MSRP goes down even a significant amount, they will still expect a deal. GM needs to stop this madness, take the loss and recondition the masses to accept the new lower MSRP and not expect some sort of deal. It will be a tough couple of years from a sales numbers and market share perspective but GM needs to dig in it's heels and hammer home the message that their cars are worthy enough of buying without the deal. On a different note my wife has been hammering away lately that we need to sell our GM stock because of it's poor performance and I am starting to think along those lines as well. Damn sad if you ask me!
  13. Amen!
  14. So Moltar, you are my car's nemesis, eh. B)
  15. Arn't muscle cars aimed at are insecurities as well? That's why my brother in law says I drive Trans Ams to make up for some insecuiry. Nevermind the fact I have been driving F-bodies since 1979.
  16. Interesting you bring that up. Prior to purchasing her Prius, my mother in law wanted one because of the fuel economy but when I told her in real world settings she will not get that kind of MPG, she changed her tune and said she wanted one because she liked them despite the fact she had yet to test drive one. Talk about creating your own rationale to justify flawed logic. Sheesh..
  17. Tell me about it. The other day some guy in a "Pricus" tried to pull ahead of me instead of letting me merge unto the freeway. I let him get in front of me and then I passed him and moved over to the number 1 lane. Next thing I know he is tailgaitting me. Well, I am sure he got a good look at my lisence which reads V8XLR8S and my frame that says "I send Mustangs to the glue factory". It was that way most of the way until we got closer to San Jose where a commute lane opened up. Guess what? he moved into the commute lane and drove by me and I was stuck in commute traffic for the next ten miles or so. He..he..I guess he got the last laugh...and it almost, I say almost wish I had a hybrid.
  18. Everytime I see that one I want to :puke:
  19. It's great to hear that there are still people who take pride in their work as I do!
  20. "It is a new technology and they will be forgiven," Hossack said. They will be forgiven because of the supposed bullet proof reliability, while the domestics would be hung out because that is to "be expected from the big 2.5". It seems people can not accept the possibility that the carefully nurtured reputation of Toyota is at stake and the possibility that Toyaota may experience more recalls as they try to become the number 1 in world sales. Will the media continue to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt at that point? And don't get me started on Toyota quality concerning our experience with our Lexus RX 300. Toyotas are not all the media claim them to be.
  21. My mother in law just purchased a Prius becuase of the Toyota quality all the green "PR" stuf despite me trying to disuade her from purchasing it in place of a better alternative. This will be fun to tell her, sort of a "I told you so". On a positve note she gave me her commuter 1992 Coralla AWD wagon, so now I can return my 1993 Trans Am to garage queen status and stop piling on all those miles. Now it's time for the serious power mods and suspension changes on my baby, as well as a repaint because of some a**hole who keyed the entire drivers side of the car. Anybody know of 1996 -1997 ram air car thats being parted out, I need the ram air hood?
  22. That car looks like it will eat me alive...
  23. But why would they have orange stripes on it. If the camo is to disguise the shape of the mule, then why bring unwarranted attention to one's self by having the orange stripes on it. Leave it white like most of the test mule spy shots we see.
  24. I will drive down from the Bay Area if it happens.
  25. Congratulations O.C. You deserve it buddy.
