  1. If this is some sort of valve spring problem Toyota calling it "faulty engines" is vary STUPID!! Are they trying to get pity from us in an attempt to restore that unreal previous image that they once had?? Something does not ring true here!---BEWARE this WEIRD PITY PLAY by Japan Inc.
  2. The economy of Turbo engines has been questionable to me since the Nissan 3.0L V6 with 300HP from the old 300ZX when compared to the larger 5.7L V8 245-300HP Vette from the time proved that the Vette was more efficient. So on that point your impression about todays 6.2L V8 would also ring true. But would a high revving 3.6L truly be more efficient then the planned Turbo 3.0L DI V6 GM has planned? I dont know. Its the lack of Torque that bothers me when compared the Ford/Lincoln EcoBoost. Again if there is a place for your higher revving 3.6L it would be as a base Cadillac engine. I would like to see GM do a more unique version of the high feature V6 for Cadillac. Perhaps a unique for Caddy 3.8L version with a non turbo like yours 350HP and a turbocharged 420HP NS V8 replacement. Being the High feature line can and does come in differing sizes why not do unique for each brand version with the best and largest going to Cadillac. In this your plan for a more premium HF V6 could become a reality if GM is listening.
  3. If they where to do what you envision it should be the standard engine in the Cadillac line and perhaps the mid range engine in a future Alpha based Camaro. Anything other then those would come up against the far more Torque laden Turbo Ford/Lincoln products. With around 350HP it could be positioned above a Turbo DI 2.0L I4 Alpha based Camaro with 300HP or so horsepower. It would seem to me its usefulness would come into question being its not Torquey enough to compete with the Turbo EcoBoost Ford/Lincoln products in other applications.
  4. Yes I know I watch it every week its GREAT!! I did not agree with them that there is no place for premium or mid range brands like Buick. And comparing Acura to longer standing and venerable brands was not fare. Infinity unlike Acura at least has something to offer the buyer with a luxury and sporty flair. It was a great show last night.
  5. Ford could have made Mercury something special with a little creativity but instead they KILL IT??---Stupid!! I am SICK of long standing American brands dieing while useless ones like the silly Acura remain!!
  6. I would LOVE to see GM bring the Holden Commodore wagon here as a part of a new Chevelle line by Chevrolet of sedan/wagon and El Camino body styles.
  7. I like the idea except for fords 365HP Turbocharged 3.7L V6 and its superior Torque advantages. I would just Turbocharge it to 400HP while saving its fuel economy advantage in the process and be more competitive in its Torque #'s. Interesting idea though. I like the way you think!
  8. ((((B.S.))))!!!!
  9. Well the 4.5L V6 based on the bore-stroke of the 6.0L V8 would obviously be 90 degree and would be FAR BETTER then the ancient 4.3L version used in the trucks today. I think properly refined and advanced it could be a wonderful torque advantaged and slower turning and efficent premium V6 over its DOHC high revving competitors. If your stated OHV advantages are true (and I believe they are) whats good for the OHV V8 could be good for a OHV V6 as well.
  10. I think the LS3 could become a premium engine and going further I could see a nice new V6 version of around 4.5L becoming a new base truck engine as well. Remember the V16 Cadillac concept engine was built around two small block V8's and everyone DREAMED about that being built. A premium, smooth and quiet DI AFM OHV Cadillac V8 and even V6 could be something unique and great for them.
  11. I think a Regal Wagon with opt AWD would be better then a small crossover. Do it GM for the U.S. market!!
  12. I wish the 2.0L DI Turbo I4 had not lost 40HP in this mid size model. With that level of torque at that level of RPM it having 260HP would have been taken more serious as a more efficient V6 replacement then it will be with only 220HP.--Oh well;(.
  13. New SRX and upcoming XTS and yet another FWD based Cadillac?--Whats going on here GM?
  14. I can see many makes that before used 3.0L V6's in their mid size offerings going back to that from todays 3.5L's. Using the latter as a performance opt makes since instead of the base V6. A higher geared 3.0L with DI and more power then before would be more frugal. I wonder if GM is working on AFM for the HFV6 line?
  15. What is this second RWD vehicle to be added to production alongside the Camaro? G8 to move production? Zeta Impala and Buick have been canceled.---GTO?---Firebird?---Or an Alpha model?
  16. That side profile is MUCH BETTER! The shape of the side windows is FAR SUPERIOR to todays verson!
  17. So the way its looking now this will be the bases for a next generation SAAB 9,5 and CHEVROLET IMPALA also! They should offer the SAAB with A base TURBO 2.0L I4 and an opt TURBO 3.0L V6. While the Chevy has NA 2.4L I4 with opt NA 3.6L V6 with the BUICK having a regular 3.6L V6 base and a DI 3.6L version as an opt.
  18. Give me a G8 wagon diesel with AWD and a manual!!

    Lumina MPG

I am afraid GM has lost this efficency advantage trying to be Asian with the DOHC 3.6L V6. This efficency advantage that was NEVER talked about by the media-(I WONDER WHY HUMMMMMMM COULD IT BE BIAS)-and NEVER refered to by GM itself properly. And the last of this line of OHV V6's will be gone soon and so will the NEVER RESPECTED efficency advantage of this 60 degree line or the 3.8L 90 degree V6 eather!----SAD!!
  20. A DOHC 4VPC 90 degree V8 can only be so small on the outside N* based or UV8 based. But a SB OHV 2VPC 90 degree V8 will be smaller alwase on the outside with the ability of being dramaticly LARGER in displacement!----SIZE??----Meaning EXTERIOR DEMENSIONS OHV WINS!!
  21. Yes closer to the consept would be good for future versions. I agree!
  22. I have LIVED that CAR for MANY YEARS!!! It INSPIRED the later 68 VETTES and even the first Gen FIREBIRD a little!! What a BEAUTY!!
  23. They should keep the SOLSTICE looking close to todays model for several genorations like the original 911 did. Its beautiful as it is and BETTER then any 911 EVER WAS just refine it from the inside out while keeping the same over all looks with SLITE TWEAKS here and there! Its a BEAUTIFUL CAR AS IS!!
  24. G8T---G8U---G8TU---G8PU---G8PT---G8UT---G8UP.--------AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!--------UTE will not work as well here because people expect a UTILITY to be inclosed in the U.S..---------I like (G8 Trans Sport) also!
  25. Strange name!!
