Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Now they need to call todays RWD 1 series in coupe and convertable forms the 2 series! Then they can offer the new and NIGHTMAREISH FWD models the 1 series! -

Economics means they have to continue to share FWD platforms w/ Fiat as they have done for decades.. though this possible new sports car platform with Mazda is promising. If they would just delay the return of a line of Alfas till Chrysler completes the mid-sized RWD platform they are working on then they could return to the U.S. in real RWD Alpha Romeo STYLE!! The brand deserves better then FWD!!

GM plus?............. who should GM partner with? (Mazda?)
Carguy replied to regfootball's topic in General Motors
Part of me would like to see Mazda and GM come together due to Mazda's unique way of doing things! But how would that work with their seemingly growing relationship with Fiat? I wish GM and Lotus would join so as to develope a new DI Turbo 4VPC DOHC V8 for both to use! Cadillac truly needs a premium Turbo V8 as does Lotus for their future models! -
Its just sad that FWD has to continue at Alfa Romeo! I thought they could have become a more "Passionate" alternative to BMW and the like! With Italian Flair and sports car handling as an all RWD line!!----OH WELL!!!

Bentley News: Bentley To Utilize Platforms From Porsche In Future Vehicles
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Bentley
This could be a wonderful thing for both Bentley and the upper crust Audi's! With the platform being a TRULY RWD based one and hopefully a longer nose with the front axle moved forward to improve styling and weight distribution they could be wonderful drivers! And I hope thats not a misprint and the W12 is to be replaced by a nice new V12! -
ILL BE BACK!!!---Says Trailblazer!!

Infiniti News: Coming To The Geneva Motor Show: The Next G
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
Nissan isn't giving up the V6s.. This is for the Mercedes-Benz four-cylinders Well that makes even less sense then the V6's! The G model is a V6 powered model not an I4 powered one at least not yet! What wonderful I4's does MB have that are so much better then the Nissan units?---This is getting weirder by the moment!!---First I was hearing MB platforms would be used by Infinity and now its V6's and I4's! None of this makes sense unless Nissan and Infinity are in serious and unreported financial trouble!!- 4 replies

Infiniti News: Coming To The Geneva Motor Show: The Next G
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
I still dont see the Nissan based engines as being so inferior to the MB engines! Could they not afford the next gen of their own engines so they move to MB engines instead? Will they be smaller say future 2.5L DI Turbo MB V6's to replace the older NA 3.5/3.7L nissan based units so as to save both cost and fuel for the upcoming regs? This still seems like a strange move to me on their part!- 4 replies

Carguy replied to wildmanjoe's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
I guess I missed this strange fad somehow! That little 57 coupe is kinda SWEET though!! -
I wish they would not use the SS or Super Sport name for this model! It should be Chevelle in what could become a Chevelle sub brand for Chevrolet! An all RWD brand of models with the return of El Camino as a Chevelle model as well! Use the SS for what it was intended for a V8 high performance variant of of this new Chevelle!

Cheers or Jeers: 11,000 Mile 1940 Riviera
Carguy replied to wildmanjoe's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
((HA!))--I knew Buick did not make a Riviera in 1940! This little ride looks fun though! Dare I say Classy? -
The LS7 is one of the best and most flexible engines out there! They need to use it to do a nice 427 Camaro to position between the SS and the ZL1!! And while they are at it do a 427SS Silverado sport truck to boot!! I could even see a Colorado 427SS with it before they stop building today's version!!

I don't know about you Balthy, but 98% of the police officers I have met in Jersey, both locals and troopers are pretty fit, and would have no problem doing a one-on-one unarmed take down on the Internet desk jockeys who's wittiest comments involve donuts. If they read the article, the previous vehicles were Zafiras... 15 inches shorter and 3 inches narrower... but 6 inches taller. The Zafira's fit the police fine. Sounds like the Insignias are severely ergonomically compromised. Of course, its typically a good thing to have beefy, tall police. It helps establish authority and helps them take down criminals. One dude I knew in a drug induced jumped off the 3rd floor casino garage, broke both legs, yet still ran another couple blocks and it still took about 15 AC police to finally stop him. He hurt a few of them in the process, too, IIUC. If the police are expected to shrink with the CAFE-required cars, about 2025 we're going to be hiring only 'little people' to be police officers and crime is going to skyrocket. Good points!! Little spindly Cops are a BAD idea! I remember several years ago an older and strong black cop was attempting to train a little 100LB beauty queen to be a fellow cop! It was the silliest thing I had ever seen and I could see the frustration in his face! I am sure he looks forward to retirement so he can leave behind that P.C. crap! Cops need to be imposing to be taken seriously!

I remember those! Rare then and even rarer now! Put a modern LS3 in that baby with the new 6sp trans and you would have one unique and stylish ride!
