Acura News: Acura Looks Towards All-Wheel Drive As A Differing Factor
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Acura
Why not have AWD as standard along with more standard and opt power then competitors using Direct Injection and Turbocharging? If done correctly Acura could be the Powerships of affordable Luxury cars! Where BMW has 240HP and Cadillac has 272HP with their Turbo I4's Acura could have 300+HP and up from there! Their 3.5L V6 could do 400HP easly with Turbocharging! Then they could rename the RLX the Legend and have the power to back up the name!!- 12 replies

What about the Sport sedans like the ATS and CTS remaining named as they are with the coupe versions getting C and wagons getting W at the end? Then a next gen smoother riding XTS and the upcoming large Luxury sedan getting real names? XTS could become the DeVille with the upcoming premium sedan becoming Fleetwood! That way the sportier Europien like modes and the Traditional American Luxury Models could be named differently like two distinct Cadillac lines? Europien Inspired Line. ATS Sedan. ATC Coupe. CTS Sedan. CTW Wagon. Traditional American Line. Sedan Deville replaces XTS. Coupe Deville. Seville as a stretched version of the CTS. ElDorado as a Seville Coupe. Fleetwood Large Sedan. Broughm as the Top Version of the Fleetwood!

Cadillac News: Peeking At Global Cadillac VP's Wishlist
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Let the Sub-compact luxury market be serves by Buick for Reasons sake!! No more FWD based should have been a Buick Cadillacs!! For all that is HOLY!! -
I dont think the CTS should be called DeVille! That name better fits the XTS with the new and larger CTS better fitting the Seville name! Then a more premium packaged and longer CTS coupe could be called Eldorado positioned between the CTS-to-Seville and the XTS-to-DeVille models! Calais for the ATS is interesting as well!

I think they should rethink the FWD based SRX and do taller bodied and lifted versions of Alpha! That way they could do a compact ATX and a mid-sized CTX! Along with that I would like to see them do a slight name change of the Coupe versions ending the three letters with C for Coupe instead of S! And if they do a wagon version of the ATS or CTS they should use ATW and CTW for those models! And with this naming perfecting they could rename the XTS eather DTS or bring bach the traditional real names for Larger Cadillac models! ATC,ATS,ATX and ATW CTS,CTX DTS or DLS or De Ville LTS or STS or Fleetwood

Chrysler News: Rumorpile: Chrysler Could Be Announcing New Minivans
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Chrysler
I do not see why they would not do new models! They could still have two of them with the Dodge Caravan being a more affordable model and the Chrysler Town & Country being a more premium offering. Perhaps bring back the SWB models as the standard Dodge with LWB as a Dodge opt but Standard on the more Luxurious Town & Country! If done correctly there is still a market for both of them!---Are you listening GM for a like treatment for future Lambda based Chevrolet and Buick Minivans?- 10 replies

I read that the next Defender was going to be unitized and FWD based. If this is true it will make a subpar bases for a pickup!- 4 replies

Chevrolet News:More In Store For The Chevrolet Colorado
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
A new Syclone would be awesome! I could see the RWD LT1 powered Colorado SS and the twin turbo V6 AWD GMC Syclone having two unique market and priceing positions as sport trucks! The Chevy could start out as a regular cab stripper model and go up from there with the GMC being a more premium offering!- 16 replies

Talking about risks? How about a lowered performance suspended LT1 powered Colorado SS with a manual trans? That would be the makings for an AWESOME performance Truck!!- 16 replies

What this tells me is Subaru does not want a convertable version of this model while Toyota does!

There was Jetta VR6 too. Yep! I forgot about that VW narrow V6!
-
If they did this it would be the first non premium compact sedan to offer a V6 sense the Chevy Cavalier Z24! This could be the makings for an interesting 3.2L 270HP AWD Dart RT!!

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: Cadillac ATS-V Could Pack A 3.2L Twin-Turbo V6
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
The only issue the HF 3.0L V6 had was it was competing with larger more torquey 3.5L/3.7 V6s from other beands! With twin turbocharging it could become something special for Cadillac replacing todays NA 3.6L V6! And remember it was putting out 260HP using a unique from the 3.6L high compression ratio but with a lower compression ratio its economy would improve significantly as well as its power with turbocharging!- 31 replies

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: Cadillac ATS-V Could Pack A 3.2L Twin-Turbo V6
Carguy replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
I hope they also do a lower boost turbo version of the 3.0L V6 to replace the NA 3.6L in the regular ATS,CTS and even XTS models! Then they could also build that 4.5L DOHC 4VPC Turbo V8 to use in the upcoming large Cadillac and the next CTS V in different stages of tune! An all DOHC 4VPC Turbo Cadillac engine lineup would be properly competitive in todays premium market!- 31 replies

I would like to see GM do something like that as well create a true family of engines. They could do a more simple multi sized version of Alpha with the drive line mounted like in a RWD car but driving the front wheels or the rear wheels or all four! Position the front axle before the engine and send the power to what ever end is required for each model!

Marchionne: New Five-Year Plan For Alfa Romeo :Comments

I (LOVE) the idea of Alfa Romeo returning to RWD then spreading the cost by using the platform for other Dodge,SRT and Chrysler models! This could be very worth the delay!- 9 replies

They should use the LS7 or its replacment and call it the 427SS while replacing the blue trim with red!
-
If they did this, I think it should only be AWD CUV for an Escalade Touring or Escalade Sport model. There was talk at one time in the first generation of Escalade about a V edition. You could use Escalade Sport for an AWD CUV with a HO Twin Turbo V6. Escalade Sport sounds cheap but Escalade Touring sounds reasonable for this proposed model. I dont think the word Sport should be used on any Cadillac including the silly V sport name! If they used a crossover version of the Omaga platform they could do a TRULY high performance V version of this model with a proper high powered V8!
-
The Escalade Touring name could work so as to not degrade the Escalade name? The problem is it will end up being just another FWD based Lambda based model that Cadillac just does NOT NEED! NO MORE FWD BASED CADILLACS!!
