Not just GM look at the Lexus ES model. It started with a 2.5L V6 in the ES250. Then it got a 3.0L V6 in the ES300 and now it has a 3.5L V6 in the ES350. Nissan used a 3.0L V6 in the Maxima and nothing but a 2.4L I4 in the Altima but now it uses a 3.5L V6 in both of those models. Honda with its accord use to use I4 only power till they offered a V6 of 3.0L's. Now with the new one they use a 3.5L V6 as the opt engine!--It seems like the ASIANS only know how to make power by increasing engine size, to me!!

Again there is talk of a CORVETTE BRAND split away from CHEVROLET and a mid Engine SUPER VETTE in the future. I think this could work if done correctly. And with KAPPA production moving to the VETTE plant in the future and a possible KAPPA-X BODY merging also it seems even more logical. With the next gen VETTE and KAPPA cars possibly related with KAPPA useing a steal frame (aka todays kappa and base vette) with I4 and V6 power and the VETTE useing a V8 and lighter more advanced aluminum frame (aka ZO6) and other high tech features it could work and cost less then two NEW UNIQUE PLATFORMS. I would hate to see CHEVY lose the VETTE but maby CORVETTE's better future would be that of a unique brand. Let the RWD CAMARO/IMPALA be CHEVIES POWER HOUSES. A CORVETTE BRAND with a base 350+HP V6 KAPPA model with a midrange 450HP-550HP front Engine model like todays then a midengine SUPER VETTE with 700+HP could be ((GREAT!!)) and they could be sold through higher end CADILLAC dealerships.

Will this new 6.2L DOHC 4VPC V8 be like the PREMIUM OHV 6.2L V8 used by CADILLAC/GMC now? That would be my guess that the DENALI GMC's and CADILLAC models will use this engine. Maby GMC should have a entire line of 4VPC DOHC V8's to better split it from OHV CHEVROLET's witch by then may be useing 3VPC OHV TECH! Let CHEVROLET/PONTIAC use OHV V8's and CADILLAC/BUICK/GMC use DOHC ones while CORVETTE becomes its own BRAND useing the BEST HIGH PERFORMANCE versions of BOTH!!

Eventhough I would buy a G8 if I could and LOVE IT I also agree with ocnblu here! Dramatic styling has been lost and replaced with COOKIE CUTTER WEDGE SHAPED LOOKS and unique to brand styling has been lost EVEN MORE these days. His idea for unique PONTIAC styling as listed above "coke bottle sids/full width split grille" ect is GREAT!!

Do a small if not RWD then standard AWD G4 sports sedan with opt Turbo I4 power. Combine the G5 and G6 into one ALPHA RWD I4-V6 midsize sedan model named G6 positioned below the G8. Then rename the Solstice R4 as a roadster and C4 as a coupe. Then bring back the Firebird model to replace the G6 coupe on ALPHA as a slitely retro named RWD GTA with base I4 opt V6/V8 power. Then build a longer then Camaro GTO coupe on RWD ZETA as the 500HP top model!!

So if the Prius actually gets 45 mpg while advertized at 60 mpg then the 62.8 mpg diesel will get 47.8 mpg! Theres more then one way to TRANSLATE JAPANESE to ENGLISH!!

They should have called the Lucerne the ULTRA and the MORE POWERFULLY INCREASED LaCrosse the SUPER! Let the NAMES FIT THE CARS!! With 340+HP the Lucerne could have been called SUPER but it being (((FWD))) that was NOT POSSIBLE so ULTRA it should have been!

Take the CAMARO platform and stretch the weelbase and rear overhang giveing it a longer roof with 67esq GTO styling! CALL IT GTO and only offer a $35K 6.2L 425+HP V8 with a $50K 7.0L 525HP JUDGE version! Then take the KAPPA platform and do a 2+2 version with with MIXXED SOLSTICE/G8 styling useing 3.6L 275HP V6 $17-25K and a 5.3L $25-30K 350HP V8 version and call it FIREBIRD!! That way the CAMARO would be unique from the FIREBIRD witch in turn would be unique from the GTO!!

Automobile mag is reporting that the next Epsilon platform will come in 2 versions. The base version will come with struts fore and aft and FWD only with a more premium version getting controle arms all around and opt AWD! This premium and more flexable next genoration Epsilon platform will be the bases for both the next 9-3 and 9-5 while the base strut suspended version will be used on the Chevy Malibu/Saturn Aura/Opel Vectra ect. With this HOPEFULLY being the case I wonder if the ZETA will be able to be as flexable as the next gen Epsilon in what type of suspension system it can use? That would be good if GM plans to use the ZETA for any future Cadillac or other premium models!

I have liked the CTS as a larger then the competition base Caddy all along but if it is to be a 5 series competitor it needs a opt V8! Then they could drop the STS or move it up market as a V8 only model with a longer weelbase to replace both todays STS and the DTS. Then use the upcomeing premium Cadillac sedan with an opt V12 as the top model. STS is a name that is well known and now the oldest in the Cadillac stable so KEEP IT around as the middel Cadillac model with the CTS as the base car. Then let PONTIAC have the lower cost and smaller BMW 3 series competitor!

My only worry is that it will be a premium model useing a lower cost platform as a bases. That would be a good thing for Cost reasons but not for IMAGE! To compete with MB-BMW ect there should be a premium version of ZETA to replace SIGMA useing duble A arms instead of struts with other inhanced features that the lower cost ZETA wouldent have. Dont DOWNGRADE CADILLAC by eventually replaceing SIGMA with the nice but lower level equiped ZETA platform GM! Keep CADILLAC eather on SIGMA or a new more premium version of ZETA with duble A arms and sound deadening along with other inhanced features like Aluminum suspension components ect. Make CADILLAC the STANDARD OF THE WORLD again not the STANDARD OF COST CUTTING!! The idea of a premium V12 CADILLAC model is GREAT but DONT RUSH IT GM with a STREACHED G8 with a Caddy body!---DO IT CORRECTLY and RULE THE LUXURY WORLD AGAIN!!

I spotted a J the other day and the interior color reminded me of that opt Saturn Aura interior in light brown. It was a little abused but still looked better then I remembered them looking.
