I couldn't agree more. I think we need to take a look at all religious extremism. Maybe the 9-11 attacks could be a fair warning of what can happen when religion becomes fanatical. I think the Christian zealots in this country are also only a decade or two away from being totally nuts.

Didn't the Dodge Omni start out as some kind of Volkswagen also?

What is the big deal about this cartoon? Are Muslims just a little too sensitive? Go to Iran or any Muslim country and you will see anti-American and anti-Christian depictions on walls and publicly funded murals desecrating the American flag. How is this any worse? Why is there so much outrage over this cartoon? Shouldn't the Muslim world be fixing their own behavior instead of trying to limit our freedom of expression? I say the Muslim outrage is nothing more than hypocrisy.

How in the world will they ever fit a Hemi in that?!? :AH-HA_wink:

Thats great. If we could grow the total number of cars so that the percentage is 50% than that would be an awesome achievement. Fleet sales support the rest of the company.

If it s a warranty repair they usually give you a rental car. What is the problem with having a rental on a weekday?

Kirk should crawl into the earth and becom fossil fuel. He is a dinosaur after all.

I would normally agree with this but if SIGMA can't give us a coupe and convertible than bring the BLS here now. An Epsiloncoupe/convertible Caddy is better than none at all.

I just saw one of these on the road today. It looks so great. If it had a NAV system I would trade in my CTS in a second.

For me it's Daphne's and IHOP.

The food is good and its not usually packed. Its a burrito place that is kind of like Subway Sandwiches. You pick the type of tortilla (burrito, soft tacos, hard tacos or none) then you select your meat and toppings. The Chipotle chain is owned by McDonald's so the food is consistent and the restaurants are clean.

Just how much better is the XLR-V than the top of the line Corvette?

1. English 2. Spanish (I'm from California and Latino) 3. French (college) 4. German (more college) 5. Japanese ( weakest of all but 4 of my friends growing up from Grade school- on were Japanese or 1/2 Japanese so I had a lot of parents speaking to me in this)

Bring it here. It'll be great as a G2. Should sell thousands and bring people into Pontiac.

This is pure specualtion but these guys are just down the street from the Chrysler Pacifica Design Center in Carlsbad, CA.

Businesswire story A 330 MPG Car for Everyone Three San Diego Engineers Form Company to Build and Sell Revolutionary 330 MPG Hybrid Car January 18, 2006 10:05 AM Aptera website CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2006--Accelerated Composites, LLC, has designed a two-seat passenger car that will achieve up to 330 MPG and sell for under $20,000. The lightweight composite, hybrid car will post this fuel efficiency in normal city and highway driving and demonstrate acceleration and handling similar to that of a Honda Insight. Dubbed the Aptera©, the vehicle achieves these remarkable numbers through the use of cutting-edge materials, manufacturing methods, and a maverick design mantra. Unique, optimized aerodynamics gives the Aptera© a drag form factor that will be lower than any mass produced car in the world. "It looks like nothing you've ever seen because it performs like nothing you've ever seen," says Accelerated Composites founder and CEO, Steve Fambro. "What we've done is changed the way cars are thought of and designed. Rather than designing to a styling aesthetic, like the big auto makers do, we hew to an efficiency and safety aesthetic. When you do that, math and physics mostly dictate the shape of the car, and in this case, math and physics look awesome." But aerodynamics is only half of the equation. The other half is weight. The Aptera© is made almost entirely of lightweight composites, making it one of the lightest cars on the road. Yet this savings does not come at the cost of safety. In fact, the construction of the car is based on the driver-protection "crash box" found in Formula One race cars. "Composites are enormously strong and lightweight," says Fambro. "That's why all the aircraft manufacturers are switching to them." So why aren't the auto makers switching? "Cost," says Fambro. "They haven't figured out cost-effective manufacturing processes for composites. But we have." The Aptera© utilizes proprietary composite construction that significantly lowers manufacturing cost when compared to most other composite construction methods, and even steel. The patent-pending "Panelized Automated Composite Construction," or PAC2©, lends itself to parallel assembly and has a very low initial capitalization. Additionally, AC's patent-pending hybrid technology allows off the shelf engines and electric motors to be seamlessly integrated for a very low cost. Another reason the big automakers aren't jumping to composites is corporate inertia. "They have many billions of dollars invested in factories and infrastructure for making cars the old-fashioned way. They couldn't walk away from that if they wanted to. This is something that only a new company can do, and that's where we come in. We are going to disrupt the status quo." "We're very serious about this. We're going to produce and sell these cars," says Fambro. "We've got a perfectly timed, market busting product. We have a great team of world class engineers and designers, high-powered marketing and sales experience, and a solid business plan." Accelerated Composites, LLC, is a Carlsbad-based startup that is disrupting the car design status quo by developing a low cost, 330 MPG hybrid car to be manufactured in Southern California. Well the interior is gross. I'm sure that lost some votes.

These cars are so sharp edged and "arts & science", are we sure that Cadillac didn't get screwed over just so there could be a new camaro?
-
How much of the $300 million was created by the decision to leave Trollhatten? I bet a lot of this "loss" was a one time accounting loss as a direct result of shifting production out of Sweden.

Who has ever heard of the patent holders of most inventions?!? I mean seriously, who is to say that this company hasn't been working with other companies for years trying to get this technology off the ground. Just because you invent something, it doesn't mean that you have the means to bring it to market.
-
Well, for all the harsh words, let's be fair and compare it to the CTS coupe. Oh, there isn't one. I guess BMW wins again. The 3-Coupe is not that bad and the rear kind of reminds me of a Monte Carlo. (In the sense that its "off" somehow but defies explanation)

Didn't Chevy make something like this 2 decades ago. This looks tired already.

GM doesn't need to invest much more in Hummer. Jeep went on for years and years with a basically unchanged Wrangler. Hummer could get minor updates on the headlights/grill and interior every few years but other than that the designs are classic enough to just leave alone.

Ghosn thinks Nashville is so gosh darn great, he should build Renaults out there and send them back to Europe. He could take advantage of the dollars slide against the Euro and he could do one of those PR campaigns like Toyota. "Renault-Nissan" has invested billions of dollars in America... B)

The ULS should be at least 450hp range and at least 6sp auto (8 speed if you must but honestly what can an 8 speed do fo you?) It should feature only high end materials on the interior. Real wood, expensive leather, maybe leather dash, giant nav screen/radio, rear high definition lcd displays, built in dvd, satellite television/internet and every other high tech goodie. Who cares how it corners at 50 m.p.h. or any of that blah, blah, blah autorag stuff. If you can afford a ULS, you can afford a driver. The car must be about passenger comfort and high style.
