I totally agree. GM doesn't need the Shelby Camaro. How many of these cars could they possibly sell? And all the people moaning that it won't be built would never have bought one anyway. The Cadillac V series and Corvette have this niche market covered.

Actually, its news like this that is getting to me... Cheney's office tried to alter greenhouse gas testimony, former official says and all those dang, forest fires as a result of global warming... oh well, beats flooding any day.

This is highly unlikely. California is a very mountainous state. Luckily, most of the low-lying "rest of the country" will disappear into the oceans first. What makes people outside of California so ignorant? Really, I am serious here. Is it in your water or what? Global warming may not be definitively proven but it’s the best theory out there. What theory do you guys ascribe to? That we have absolutely no effect on the atmosphere? Were your forefathers the same people that thought the whales and buffalo would last forever too? Luckily, someone stepped in and stepped up. America and the rest

That's just wrong! hehehe Well, live and let live I guess.

Happy Canada! Congratulations on winning your long fought battle for independence... err.. well, however you guys did it. How many more years til you get the queen off your money? Je me souviens

AP News StoryBy TOM KRISHER and DEE-ANN DURBIN – 1 hour ago DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Corp. outsells Toyota Motor Corp. in June to retain its traditional U.S. sales lead, even though GM says its sales dropped 18 percent for the month. Toyota sales had fallen 21.4 percent for the month. Both companies were hurt by a sluggish economy and poor sales of trucks and sport utility vehicles. GM on Tuesday reported selling 265,937 vehicles for the month, compared with Toyota's 193,234. For the first half of the year, GM sales were down 16.3 percent compared with the year-ago period. Toyota sales were down 6.8 percent for the first six months of the year. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below. DETROIT (AP) — High gasoline prices and a weak economy took a toll on U.S. sales of Toyota Motor Co. and Ford Motor Co. vehicles in June, with Toyota reporting a 21.4 percent decline and Ford dropping 27.9 percent. Industry analysts had predicted June auto sales could drop by double-digits to their lowest monthly rate in 16 years. Toyota, however, had been expected to fare better because it has a lineup more tilted toward small fuel-efficient cars and crossover vehicles. But it didn't. Toyota said Tuesday its car sales dropped 9.4 percent for the month, while its truck sales slipped 38.9 percent. For the first half of the year, Toyota sales were down 6.8 percent. Ford shares sank to a new 52-week low, while rival General Motors Corp. shares were trading near their lowest level in more than a half century. Dearborn-based Ford blamed the latest sales decline on high gas prices and low consumer confidence, which sent buyers to the sidelines. It reported steep drops in June sales of pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, including a 41 percent year-over-year decline for the F-Series pickup, a perennial best-seller, and a 52 percent drop for the Ford Explorer SUV. U.S. auto sales had already fallen for seven straight months as of May, the longest period of consecutive monthly drops in eight years, according to the auto information Web site Edmunds.com. When customers do buy, they're picking smaller cars, crossovers and hybrids. The demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles has been a boon to Japanese automakers such as Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co., which rely less heavily on trucks and sport utility vehicles than the Detroit Three. For the first half of the year, Ford's sales were down 14 percent compared with the year-ago period. Ford said sales of its smallest car, the Ford Focus, rose 28 percent in the first six months of the year, although Focus sales fell in June. The automaker said last month it plans to increase production of the Focus as well as the Mercury Mariner and Ford Escape small SUVs. Ford shares tumbled 32 cents, or 6.6 percent, to $4.49 in afternoon trading after sinking to a 52-week low of $4.41 earlier in the session. They have traded as high as $9.64 over the past year. The Associated Press reports unadjusted figures, calculating the percentage change in the total number of vehicles sold in one month compared with the same month a year earlier. Some automakers report percentages adjusted for sales days. There were 24 sales days last month and 27 in June 2007.

It has a very Saab feel to it. I like it. I wonder if thats what the next 9-5 will look like
-
Die Mitsubishi Die! This car looks like *ss and the interior probably is full of all the cheap plastic that GM used to use.
-
1. None but almost bought the 9-3. I went with the CTS because it was US made. 2. I would seriously consider it if the new models make it out in the next 2 years. I like the smaller size of Saabs.
-
1. 0 2. Maybe. I would consider the Sky especially if they get a coupe version. Also, I like the next gen Aura.
-
1. One 2. Probably not. I don't really have a use for a truck anymore.
-
1. ZERO. Proud to say none. 2. Never, ever. I couldn't even imagine it.
-
1. No 2. It'll have to be a very cold day in hell.
-
1. None 2. Probably not. I might consider the Solstice Coupe if it gets Navigation... otherwise, a categorical NO!
-
1. 1 - 1998 Cavalier, the most reliable car anyone in my family has ever owned. Problem free for 60k miles until I traded up to Cadillac. 2. Maybe I will by the Volt if Caddy's offerings aren't to my likeing.
-
1. 1 CTS 2. Maybe it depends if the CTS coupe is as ugly as the autoshow car. Will the small Caddy be out in 2 years?

GM/Opel flagship will recognize traffic signs

Finally GM understands that the future is about technology! Yes, this is a pretty worthless thing but at least its going to be in GM cars. There are so many other worthless things in cars that we come to expect now. Such as, outside temperature, tire pressure, useless compasses that point to magnetic north instead of true north, etc. oh and btw, Navi is essential in a vehicle. I would never buy a car again without it. GM needs to stop listening to the idiots who tell them to develop huge trucks, bare bones cars, stick shifts and all the other throw-back b.s. of 1960's America. -
All I see is Seas of Cheap Plastic. At least throw some wood veneers in there to make it seem more pre-GM SAAB
-
That's the uncamo'd chevy volt coming in 2010. Not bad for an electric car.
-
another boring Acura. Yawn!

It's the profile. Besides that, don't ALL Hummers look like ridiculous clown cars?

Worlds Smallest Hummer BBC link Based on the pensioners' favourite, the Suzuki Wagon R, the dwarf Hummer is now turning heads when Andy drives it around his home town of Poole, Dorset. The 1,000cc engine can reach speeds of nearly 100mph, but takes an age to get there. And while rap stars who are keen to be seen with the original Hummer might sneer at Andy's creation, it has become a hit on the streets among young lads. Sprayed in Pagan Gold, the 10ft 6ins long and 4ft 10ins high motor took 300 hours to create from a variety of vehicles.

Is GM taking too much of a PR hit for the domestics?
SoCalCTS replied to regfootball's topic in General Motors
I am pretty sure that Ford is taking the most bad press. You NEVER hear a positive Ford story. GM still is getting great press for the Malibu, Volt and flex fuel vehicles. -
It's too bad that GM doesn't have any cars to export to take advantage of the week dollar.
