OMG! This is the first time in years that I have felt like things will go in a good direction! We finally got our country back!
-
It must be a county by county thing. I know in some areas the ballots are in Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese and Russian but usually they are separate ballots and not bilingual.

I hope all Obama supporter's don't think this way...

Domestic drilling is a stop-gap measure it is NOT a long term plan. Obama's plan include renewable resources like wind, solar and geothermal as well as improving our efficiency to save the oil/energy that we already have. -

" I won't have to worry about paying my mortgage" and " I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car" These are crazy statements? Or are they out of context as part of a larger conversation or in response to Obama's plans on mortgages and his energy plan. Perhaps what this lady meant was that she won't have to worry about $4 gas and she won't have to worry that her adjustable rate mortgage will keep being re-adjusted upward until she can no longer afford the payments. This is just another pathetic right wing attempt to tarnish Obama. This is like the dirty commercial Elizabeth Dole is running. Stop with the BS you dirty-trick Republicans! -
Lexus, Hummer, any grossly large SUV or republican bumperstickers. I would dump them the next morning.

GM delays all development spending through 2010
SoCalCTS replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
Hummer is a damaged brand and is going so Jeep should stay with GM. Dodge should replace Pontiac which is also a damaged brand and Chrysler and Buick brands are essentially the same so the least damaged brand should survive. -
Thats my point. "All you have to do is incorporate to get around them" "Oooh. I'm a small business - I make my money legally. Don't tax me cause I EARNED my money!"
-
Maybe where you live. BTW which state might that be? In California the amount is 10% annual interest but there are exemptions for Credit Card Companies, Banks, Real Estate Brokers, pawn brokers and finance companies. In essence, Corporations have been given special rights (over individuals) to exempt themselves from usury laws. This is probably the case where you live as well althought the interest rates vary from state to state. These laws need to be changed at a Federal level and I hope Obama and the Democrats will start to cap interest rates.
-
Some interest rates are over 100% annually. Think "check cashing"... The government should step in and shut that kind of lending down. In your view... that is a fair way to earn money. If you made a private loan with that kind of interest, you would be arrested for loan sharking and yet the Republicans have rigged the laws to allow banks to do it.
-
Republicans have used the political advantage that they had to keep the minimum wage down, deregulate industry to the benefit of the corporations over the consumer, loan money to banks at 2% interest while the banks charge others up to 21%. All of these things are ways that the Republican government has helped take money from the working class while making the rich even richer. They use lobbyists to change the rules of the game to stack the chips in the favor of the wealthy. They allow golden parachutes for executives while allowing companies to steal money out of pension funds. The middle class is smaller now than it was 8 years ago. The number of poor has increased. To this John McCain proudly proclaims, " Michigan the Jobs are NOT coming back " Gosh! How Presidential you sound Mr McCain.
-
A tax is a tax. It is not redistribution. When people pay taxes, the money goes to pay for services such as the military, interest on the national debt, social security, etc. No matter which rate you pay... that is where the money goes. The money does not go to individuals. This isn't Robin Hood. No one is taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Corporations, small businesses, welfare moms, and the middle class all share in the benefits of government spending.
-
I was never going to vote for McCain but I was ok with him winning until he picked Sarah Palin. Then I thought, "OMG he really doesn't stand for anything. What a hypocrite!" and then I lost all respect for him. If he wins it would be the biggest tragedy that this country has ever seen.
-
This whole "Redistribution of Wealth" and Socialism allegation against Obama is a bunch of bull. Here are the facts: Under the Republican presidency and administration the wealth in this country has been redistributed from the working class and middle class to the wealthiest 1% of the people. The wealthiest people in this country often pay less in taxes than solidly middle class people because the wealthy have been given tax loopholes by the Republicans. Under John McCain money will continue to flow from the poor and middle classes to the rich. This is Redistribution of Wealth. Republicans rig the system to take money from the poor and then claim that they earned it! That's not earning anything... that's called stealing. Having people pay a fair share of the nations expenses is not Socialism. Taxes are not socialism.

+1 yes a 4-cylinder only Cadillac would suck butt
-
I've had issues with my CTS too. I won't get into all of it because its off topic but the biggest one was the rear-differential being replaced. My Cavalier was much more trouble free. As far as VW's, I know quite a few people who have had problems with various sensors, brakes and exhaust control problems.
-
If no one got to Dubya... no one is going to get to Obama. I have faith in the secret service.
-
I think Palin launched her gubernatorial campaign in a convicted felon's living room!!! Senator Ted Stevens has been convicted of 7 counts of violating ethics laws. What will McCain and Palin say now? Both have been cozying up with a crooked politician. Talk about something coming back to bite you in the butt. You betcha!

We definitely would need a V version of the RTS. That would be awesome.
-
We are all in this together. I'd work without heat or AC to save my job/company.

kicking tires blog2008 Los Angeles Auto Show: Mini E Electric Car Competes with: Honda FCX, Chevy Volt, Tesla Roadster Looks like: A Mini Cooper Hatchback Drivetrain: 150 kW (204 hp equivalent) electric motor, lithium-ion battery, single-stage helical gearbox Hits dealerships: Limited offering to 500 in California, New York and New Jersey BMW is getting on the electric-car bandwagon with perhaps the most stylish alt-fuel vehicle to date. Yes, it looks just like a regular Mini Cooper, but is that such a bad thing? This is the type of exercise the industry truly needs to execute: a popular gasoline-powered car with an electric powertrain trim level. The Mini E will be a limited rollout of 500 cars in just three states. The car will have a range of 150 miles on a single charge. Performance specs are quite good, too; it can hit 62 mph in 8.5 seconds. We’d guess it would be faster if it didn’t have to haul the lithium-ion battery pack, which takes up so much room that there’s no backseat in this Mini. All this extra gear bumps the Mini E’s weight to 3,230 pounds, up from a Mini Cooper’s 2,568 pounds. With a special charging adapter installed at an owner’s home, the Mini E can fully recharge in two-and-half hours. It also can plug into a standard wall socket, but it’ll take longer to recharge. The Mini E would also meet the same standards as the Chevy Volt for a maximum tax credit of $5,000 if it ever goes on sale to the public. If you live in California, New York or New Jersey, get to your local Mini dealer and try to put your name on a waiting list for the test series. There hasn’t been any word on its cost, but we’d expect it to follow similar programs from Honda where the automaker charges those in the lease-based test program for its hydrogen FCX.

Actually, I heard that both the Dodge and Chrysler brands would be going away in addition to Hummer and Pontiac. Only Jeep would survive out of Chryslers brands.

I wanted to watch but then I saw that John Stossel was the host. To me he is like Geraldo Rivera, Nancy Grace and Andy Rooney rolled into one useless newscaster.

I think dating ONLY someone younger indicates a desire to have some kind of control or upper-hand in the relationship. Since, supposedly at an older age, one would be more financially secure. You are more likely to pick where you would go to eat or which movies/plays you go see. Also, could it be some kind of insecurity? Do you have a need to feel younger or are you trying to have one of those " I still got it" moments? Only you know for sure why you date younger guys. I date younger, older, same age... as long as they are hot.
