Toyota, Honda, and Nissan need to go. there are too many brands! I hope Fiat and Chrysler merge. They both need a partner desperately.

Dump all of the brands except for Chevrolet and Cadillac. Everything else is not needed. Cadillac needs new product fast. Cadillac is the only brand that anyone takes seriously. Chevrolet is still the volume leader so it must stay. GM should not spend a single dime on anything other than Chevrolet and Cadillac.

This car is hideous. That interior is far worse than GM has done in years. It looks like a bad Chrysler rip-off. The new exterior Mercedes looks is uninspired and blocky. Lets see if they can keep the quality up. The E series two gens back was named "the least reliable car ever tested" by Consumer Reports.

This car is great. I hope Lincoln builds it! This is more proof that GM still doesn't get it. Ford is definitely the American car company of the future. GM please take notes. People want technology and luxury in small cars. They dont want crap boxes or SUVs, CUVs or any of the other nonesense that you are pushing.

Since there is no mention of Daewoo, Holden, Vauxhall or Opel, Why is everyone assuming that SAAB is going to be axed? There is talks with the Swedish government to get additional funding for Saab. Just get rid of Pontiac now. It makes no sense to continue that brand. Losing Saturn is fine. It can always come back as Opel in the future. Hopefully they can convert some of the Saturn dealerships to other brands since Saturn generally has nice modern facilites compared to the old run down Pontiac and Buick dealerships.

I have to disagree with you on the S60. The new 2010 Volvo S60 is a better looking car.

Welcome home Pontiac. The above statement clearly represents the heritage of Pontiac. Unless, you happen to be of a certain age (mainly seeing Pontiacs of the 60's and early 70's), Pontiac has always been boring, ugly and craptacular. Why is everyone so revisionist about its history? It was started as the poor man's Oakland and not meant to be a high performance car. Pontiac needs to get attractive and interesting quickly or IT NEEDS to GO!

Pontiac should be the economy brand for GM. Chevrolet is a full line brand so it shouldn't go to far downscale. Pontiac should be bare bones, radio optional, entry level.

Science puts forth theories in order to find the truth. Its not political. Its the right wing religious zealots in this country that have to make everything political. With that being said, I would like to point out that The Daily Telegraph is one of the most conservative news organizations in the UK. The religious right screams "the world is flat" and then argue that some scientific study found a perfectly flat part of the world someplace. The consequences of global warming include more erratic weather such as terrible snowstorms, huge hurricanes, etc. Its not just about the earth getting hot. This article is a fluff piece at best. It just serves to confuse the feeble minded.

If GM can last until Bush is out in January, it sounds like help is on the way. Why is Paulson so against helping the automakers?? Let Pelosi and Reid send some money to the Big 3. Get a clue Bush administration! Sorry for the politics. It just seems like if we can spend billions on AIG then why can't we send some money to GM, Ford and Chrysler considering how many jobs are at stake.

I had 3 bumper stickers on my car. I took one "Obama 08" sticker off and one "vote democrat" sticker off. I left the Obama-Biden sticker on and I plan on leaving it on until the transfer of power. I might find a small Obama window sticker to use for the duration of his term. I removed all yard signs within an hour of the polls closing - except for one illuminated Obama sign which I left for an additional 24 hours in tribute and celebration.

Umm... McCain basically ran his whole election by saying "Vote for me or you are all screwed" so it was nice to see him concede like a gentleman.
