  1. Yeah, my wife took it really hard, started crying when we got home.
  2. So me and the wife are 5 miles from our exit to get to our apartment on I-75, when we noticed a pickup on the side of a large bridge. As we pass him my wife gasps and says, "Oh my God, he's gonna jump!" I turned around and sure enough he was standing on the concrete wall on the edge of the bridge, wrapping a jacket around his head. As we pulled off and my wife is dialing 911, I turned around and I watched him fall off the bridge. Police finally showed up, took our information, and informed us someone from Lexington Metro Police would be in touch for a statement. We just got the call from a homicide detective who took our story. We actually found out we got the better end of the deal, some people were fishing on the river below the bridge and watched him hit the water and were the first to find him afterwards. He had his mind made up though. He didn't stand there for 20 mins, he was up on the wall and off the bridge in probably 30 seconds. Crazy day.
  3. Its the odd placement on some cars that irritates me.
  4. I wonder how hard they would laugh if I said, "Don't change a thing, and sell if for less than the RX330."
  5. I haven't been to Ocean City, MD in YEARS. We use to go there every year when my grandmother, who lived in Severna Park, was still living. Haven't been since she passed away in 2000, though. Anyway, love to go, but I just started a new job two months ago and I don't get any paid vacation days until my anniversary.
  6. Not anytime soon. You must realize that people who can afford $40k+ SUVs aren't really concerned about the price of fill-up.
  7. They matter to people who know better. It never mattered to me, and then I sat in a Ford Fusion, and then an 06 Maxima and I thought to myself, "Yeah, I can see the appeal of having smooshy dash material and woven headliners." And you have to remind yourself that, as well as those cars are selling, they're still not even close to Camry, Accord, Civic or even Impala sales. They're all great looking cars, granted, but that only takes you so far. The best thing about the 300, Charger, Magnum and Calibur is that they're managing to sell them without heavy discounts/incentives, and so Dodge is making lots of money. The Tahoe is an example of a vehicle that is aggressively styled AND has a fantastic interior. Which is why it will continue to outsell every vehicle in its class, and with ZERO incentives.
  8. You're probably right!
  9. And I think they look fantastic.
  10. Thats what really gets me. I remember when I first started posting here back in Feb 02. I remember considering Josh someone to respect and as someone that was always super nice and who never seemed to have a problem. Yet, for the past 18 months or so, all that changed. At least Brian still makes good jokes!
  11. Yeah, new Camrys are becoming more and more common here in Lexington, the number I see increases daily. And Yarii are becoming more numerous as well. Hell, at least its better looking than the Echo.
  12. Yeah, it was bad. Only thing that evened out the day was the SRT-8 Charger and Grand Cherokee I saw earlier in the day, that I mentioned above. I tell ya, I don't care which is faster, but the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 is one awesome looking SUV, much better looking than the Trailblazer SS, of which I saw TWO of today, oddly enough. Low-slung, wide tires, big rims, and centered exhaust. MMmmmm... The Charger was awesome too, but the Charger is such an aggressive looking car anyways, you can't tell a difference unless you look really close. The one I saw was all black except for the rims. And the Chrysler Aspen is the most ridiculous rebadge ever. The Mercury Mountaineer is more differentiated.

    BMW

I get the feeling its not going to be as good-looking as the E46 M3 was.
  14. What this thread has been trying to point out is that with GM, its no longer large glaring blemishes on their cars that make them bad. Its the half-dozen little things that GM just can't seem to get right. Like fake wood in the Escalade or no express-up windows or mouse-fur headliners or good interior design (GMT-900s and select Saturns excluded) or INTEGRATED center consoles, and the list goes on. The half-dozen little things that in a Toyota, Honda, or Audi are so well thought out, you KNOW that they spent their time making sure everything was perfect (anecdotal Toyota stories aside). Yet in a GM, you know that they're after-thought considerations, at least until just very recently.
  15. I think what he's trying to say is that when you look at how BMW and Mercedes differentiate their M- and AMG-cars and then look at how Cadillac has chosen to differentiate their V-cars, Cadillac can, to some, come off as a little juvenile and boy-racer-ish. I agree, to a point, but I also think the CTS-V is a damn good looking car, one of the best looking GM makes. Of course, I also think the E46 M3 is one of the best looking cars on the road as well. So go figure.
  16. Oh, forgot a couple of other more sickening sightings. First, a deep purple Chrysler 300 with gold trim, gold rims, and a lavender cloth top. Blegh! Then, not too much later, a champaigne Lucerne with a brown cloth top. Just...ew. Driven by Methuselah, no less. Or someone near to the same age.
  17. Not to say the Challenger is a BAD looking car. But I mean, when you have an almost EXACT carbon copy of a classic muscle car, its going to look good by default. HOWEVER, I would much rather see a modern version following Dodge's current design theme. And I think the same for the future Camaro and, if it happens, GTO.
  18. Ok, how about this! Make me acting CEO. We continue to take donations and all the admin staff that ponied up their dough will continue to pay for the site as well, except I'll be responsible for making sure everything gets paid. I use all the money to buy a Toyota Camry, the site goes offline July 06, I skidaddle out of the spotlight, leaving Brian to take the rap, and we have our own miniature Enron! Huh? Huh? Yeah, I knew you guys would be on board!
  19. 08 Malibu is, apparently, just a major refresh and remaining on Epsilon I. Now, the 2010, I think, Aura will be on EpII. I think. As for the others mentioned, I think the LaX is going on EpII after the Aura, but before the Malibu. The only vehicle(s) that will likely be moving to RWD will be the Impala and maybe Lucerne. Impala BY 2009 CY, Lucerne shortly after. Grand Prix, no clue. Of course, Croc may pop his toothy head in here and make my memory look like crap, since I pulled all of the above from my head, but thats what I seem to recall from bits and pieces scattered about in half a dozen threads.
  20. The EXT would be my Escalade of choice, if I were to suddenly become uber wealthy.
  21. There's less political back-biting in Congress. Interesting that all of this has taken place, but also fantastic to have an administration staff who cares enough about a bunch of weirdos they've never met to pony up their own hard earned dough to keep the site running for TWO MORE YEARS! Amazing, fantastic, superb. A big hand to them all! :sign0200: EDIT: I'd have more emotes, but the board said I had too many. 3 cheers for the administration!!! Hip-hip, hooray! Hip-hip, hooray! Hip-hip, hooray!
  22. Interesting siting today on I-75N. Stopped at a Shell station on the way out of Lexington. Saw my first Chrysler Aspen, Dodge Charger SRT-8, AND Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Kind of an odd thing to see at once yeah? Apparently they were doing some kind of testing for Chrysler, they all three had Michigan Manufacturer tags and all three had funky looking equipment in the vehicles and dashboards. Left the Shell station before they did and sure enough by the time I got to Covington, KY, they passed me all at once. Pretty neat day for me.
  23. A specialty used lot, you know the used dealers that sell used imports, mainly BMWs, Mercs, Audis, Porsches, etc, has a used Phaeton on their lot now.
  24. New GM vehicles have gotten to a point where the complaints people have, valid or not, make the reviewers sound like spoiled children.
