  1. We got a Hebasto 1-touch programmable sunroof installed in our 06 Escape when we got it back in March. Before I really didn't see the big deal about sunroofs, didn't ever really want one, but my wife did. Now, however, I've really grown to like it and will likely try to get one with my new car.
  2. I'd imagine that on the black box with the digital recorder you will here minutes of the crew preparing for take-off and starting the plane down the runway. And then, seconds too late, the terrifying realization that they are on a shorter runway than they thought. Its been SAID, and I don't know whether its true, that the jet that crashed would be capable of taking off fully loaded within 3500 ft IF THE PILOT IS AWARE that 3500ft is all the distance he has. However, if the pilot is preparing for a 7000 ft runway, he's going to slowly ease onto the throttle instead of hammering it.
  3. The longer runway that they were instructed to take is lit, the shorter runway that they actually attempted take-off from was not.
  4. Actually from the recorded conversations between the flight tower and crew, they were told to take the longer runway and acknowledged that instruction. But for some reason, they took the shorter runway by mistake. Comair has stated that in take-off, the co-pilot is responsible for guiding the plane to the runway and getting it off the ground, so if/when the co-pilot is able to answer questions about what happened, we may actually get an answer. From the coverage I've seen, apparently due to recent repavement of the longer runway and the way which planes are routed TO that runway, the pilot/co-pilot of any plane taxi right BY the shorter runway. It may be decided that there wasn't enough differentiation between the two runway entrances and so the co-pilot went down the shorter runway by mistake.
  5. I'm sure you all know of the deadly plane crash here in Lexington yesterday morning. When something like this happens so close to home, it really touches you personally. When a newly married couple and a couple flying out to get married both die in a fatal plane crash, it really made me thankful that I have my wife with me today and that I still have a life to live with her. I know we bicker and pick at each other and disagree and sometimes get a little too rowdy, but I think we all need to take a minute to remember how lucky those of us who haven't lost someone tragically are today and to make sure we keep those who aren't so lucky in our hearts and thoughts over the next few weeks.
  6. Indeed. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...topic=10550&hl=
  7. That Belvedere was friggin HUGE!
  8. Keeneland is Lexington's horsetrack. Its easy to have a car show there, I'm assuming, because the grounds is large so they can easily get 400-500 cars in and out. And it was a great show, it really had something for everyone. There were lots of cars, domestic and foreign, from the 30s-to-present.
  9. Alright, pictures are posted in C&G Featured Articles board. They're clickable thumbnails, so all the posts should be 56K safe. Go check them out!
  10. The 3rd annual Keeneland carshow was today. These are pictures of everything except the featured make, Corvette, which have their own posts. Enjoy!

  14. The 3rd annual Keeneland carshow was today. Featured make was the Corvette, all makes and trims welcome for the Corvette, so there were supposedly over 200 Vettes at the show. I took pictures of the classic ones, since any of us can usually walk outside and see a C4/C5/C6. Strangely, there were no C6 Z06's, which struck me as odd. Also at the show were 5 Corvette Concepts on loan from the GM Heritage Museum: Mako Shark, Mako Shark 2, Aerovette, Sting Ray 2 and Sting Ray 3. BEAUTIFUL cars. Here are my pictures!

  16. Spent a couple hours at the Keeneland Concours d'Elegance this morning and I have to say that it was one of the best experiences I've ever had! I wish those of you in the area that post on here could have met up there with me, it was well worth the $15 entry...WELL worth it. I overheard that over 200 Corvettes were there, it was the featured make this year, plus Packards, Porsches, Ferraris, Austin Healeys, Maseratis, Lambos, Minis, Miatas, Audis, Bimmers, Benzs, Alfas, GMs, Fords, Chryslers, racecars, and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Including!!!!! 5 Corvette concept cars on loan from the GM Heritage Museum in Detroit!! More cars than you can shake a stick at! And YES, I got pictures. There were too many to get a picture of absolutely everything, so I focused mainly on rarities and tried to get something for EVERYONE here (sorry BV, no Fieros ). I'm getting them uploaded now, and since you guys know more about them than I, I'll just make a huge picture post and not bother organizing and posting what little info I know about them. It will be in the C&G Feature Articles section when I'm done.
  17. That Foose Edition is HAWT! Diggin those wheels and the two-tone paint!
  18. No, looks like a photoshopped Holden VE SS V. And why is it that everyone says this is "bland" but I think it looks fantastic?
  19. But when Zeta operations are copy+pasted in NA for Camaro/Impala production will their be enough for Grand Prix?
  20. Well there's your problem. This bitch wouldn't know a good car if it ran her the f@#k over, which I really wish someone from GM would do so she'll stop writing "reviews." She needs her journalistic license pulled.
  21. 07s get the new GM corporate radio, I do believe.
  22. 07 information and specs with 06 pictures?
  23. C'mon, NO ONE?!
  24. The big question is, can GM keep Pontiac on life support long enough to turn it into a division with a unique identity, an identity that people will care about and be relevant to the industry? Because, my friends, Pontiac as it has existed for the past 20 years cannot survive in GMs future. In my opinion, if Pontiac is to survive it will HAVE to become something completely different within GM, offer things that other divisions do not. The Solstice is a good start, its a nice entry-level roadster that offers something different from the rest of GM. The Sky has its own target, as its more expensive and VERY different in style. The Pontiac as we know it today will not exist 10 or even 5 years from now. It will either be gone, or be completely different.
  25. I like The Rock, Bad Boys 1 & 2, Pearl Harbor and Armeggedon.
