  1. Then no, it has not. Though with the sightings that have popped up, patent drawings that have leaked, even the keyfob has been shown, I'm inclined to believe that it is coming. Concept cars aren't typically seen out on proving grounds because they have nothing to prove. Not in the last 20 years anyway.
  2. I've never known my Android to have better battery life than my iPhone, though I use my Android a lot heavier than my iPhone. The nice thing about Apples is that if you do have a defective/dying battery, it is easy to just take it to an Apple store and have it replaced. I had to have the battery replaced on my Nexus and it was a production. The different vendors for Android is a downfall in my opinion these days. I'm a #NeverSamsung kinda guy, I've been burned by their phones too many times. You're at their mercy for getting software updates and then the carrier also potentially blocks a software update also. I'm assuming this phone is for @balthazar and not "a friend". One of the things you're not going to like is the cost... An iphone 8 will suit you just fine, no need to go all the way up to the top of the line phone.. but if you do, an XR is what my partner has and he likes it a lot. iPhones last longer than Androids do simply because Apple supports software updates for a lot longer. Unless you're looking to replace a phone every 2 years, go with iPhone. I was planning on moving to iPhone about 6 months ago, but then I dropped my Android Nexus 6P and it was replaced under insurance with a newer Pixel. The Pixel has been fine and is just something for me to use till I'm ready to upgrade. I have to change carriers also because my carrier only works on certain Android phones. Balth, if you do go with Android instead of iPhone, go with Google Pixel instead of Samsung or LG. Motorola is a good second place pick because they don't muck up their OS with garbage like Samsung does.
  3. Over 8 Million Ford Taurus cars have been built over the years as U.S. Taurus production came to a close yesterday in Chicago. The Taurus was first introduced at the 1985 Los Angeles Auto Show. The original Taurus changed the design landscape for family cars in the U.S. from a traditional boxy shape to a very rounded aerodynamic one. Offered in sedan and wagon variants, the popular model became the best selling car in America by 1992. In 1989, the SHO was introduced, a 220 horsepower V6 engine provided by Yamaha. There was a two-year pause from 2006 to 2008 when the model was called the Ford Five Hundred. While the Taurus is ending in the U.S. an unrelated Taurus continues production in China. The Chinese Taurus was introduced in 2016 and is based on an extended Ford Fusion platform. Though production of the Taurus has ended in Chicago, Ford is investing $1 billion to expand their Chicago Assembly Plant and Chicago Stamping plant to get ready for the 2020 Ford Explorer , Ford Police Interceptor, and Lincoln Aviator. Ford is replacing or updating 75% of its U.S. lineup by the end of 2020.

  5. The GLC refresh didn't do anything visually. It's the same car with a different grill, very slightly more horsepower, and MBUX. Nothing that will move the needle.
  6. That's pretty disappointing. I feel like my Encore does better than that.
  7. I'm not seeing many of the Silverado, but the Sierras are plentiful, especially the Denali. I'm surprised how many Denalis I see... almost as many as the Silverado entirely.
  8. I have been on Android as my personal phone pretty much ever since they came out. Before that I was on Blackberry and on Windows phone. I carry a work iPhone so I have experience with that as well. For years I have stuck with Android in spite of its less than steller compatibility with other devices. My current Android is likely my last Android. Next time around I will be going with iPhone simply because I no longer have the interest or desire to hack my phone just to make it work with other things. My music is spread out over several apps just so that I can have all of it. It's annoying and it will be a project to consolidate all of it once I switch, but it will be worth it. Android Auto is decent for vehicles that don't have an Android Auto compatible head unit because you can run it as its own head unit for easy use of Navigation, Music, texting, and calls. Apple Car Play can't do that. While you may not have a vehicle now that can handle either of these systems, if you buy any 2017+ truck, it will have them. Once you have a head unit that can handle Car Play or Android Auto, the advantage for Android goes away. TL/DR - get an iPhone.

  19. FCA US Reports 2019 February Sales Ram brand reports record February as sales rise 24 percent. Jeep® Cherokee sets February record All new heavy-duty Ram begins to arrive in dealer showrooms Auburn Hills, Mich. March 1, 2019 FCA US LLC reported today that the Jeep® Cherokee set an all-time February sales record, despite another month of bitter weather across key selling regions for the brand. The Ram brand scored another record month as well, on the back of award-winning products in the hot light-duty and heavy-duty markets. Following 11 straight months of year-over-year sales increases, the company's overall U.S. February sales retreated 2 percent to 162,036 vehicles in a soft market, compared with sales of 165,903 vehicles in February 2018. The Jeep brand is returning to a more "normal" sales cadence after benefiting from both the new and old Wrangler coming off the production lines this time last year. "The overall industry is starting off slower due in part to weather, the U.S. government shutdown and concern over tax refunds,” U.S. Head of Sales Reid Bigland said. “We still see a strong, stable economy and anticipate any lost winter sales will be made up in the spring. For us, the Ram brand was the standout in February, and Jeep Cherokee set a February record as well." See the attached table for the breakdown of brand and nameplate sales. Method of Determining FCA US LLC’s Monthly Sales. FCA US’s reported vehicle sales represent unit sales of vehicles to retail customers, deliveries of vehicles to fleet customers and to others such as FCA US’s employees and retirees as well as vehicles used for marketing. Most of these reported sales reflect retail sales made by dealers out of their own inventory of vehicles previously purchased by them from FCA US. Reported vehicle units sales do not correspond to FCA US’s reported revenues, which are based on FCA US’s sale and delivery of vehicles, and typically recognized upon shipment to the dealer or end customer. As announced on July 26, 2016, FCA US has modified its methodology for monthly sales reporting as follows: Sales to retail customers by dealers in the U.S. are derived from the New Vehicle Delivery Report (“NVDR”) system and are determined as the sum of (A) all sales recorded by dealers during the month net of all unwound transactions recorded to the end of that month (whether the original sale was recorded in the current month or any prior month); plus (B) all sales of vehicles during that month attributable to past unwinds that had previously been reversed in determining monthly sales (in the current or prior months). Fleet sales are recorded upon the shipment of the vehicle by FCA US to the customer or end user. Other retail sales are recorded either (A) when the sale is recorded in the NVDR system (for sales by dealers in Puerto Rico and limited sales made through distributors that submit NVDRs in the same manner as for sales by U.S. dealers) or (B) upon receipt of a similar delivery notification (for vehicles for which NVDRs are not entered such as vehicles for FCA employees). Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. “We are proud and humbled by the accolades our brand and vehicles recently received including Consumer Reports’ naming Subaru the “Best Overall Brand” in their annual Brand Report Card, as well as our Crosstrek, Forester and Ascent SUVs each ranking first in their respective categories in Consumer Reports’ latest car ratings.” “In February, we benefitted from strong sales results for the three-row Subaru Ascent and the all-new Forester which received top marks in the IIHS’ new test of pedestrian crash avoidance systems,” said Jeff Walters, Senior Vice President of Sales. “We’ve been fortunate to generate a lot of excitement throughout our line-up, particularly with our SUVs, and expect that to continue with new additions to our lineup later this year.” Carline Feb-19 Feb-18 % Chg Feb-19 Feb-18 % Chg MTD MTD MTD YTD YTD YTD Forester 13,133 11,640 12.8% 26,451 22,488 17.6% Impreza 4,291 5,130 -16.4% 8,474 10,481 -19.2% WRX/STI 1,987 2,244 -11.5% 3,738 4,163 -10.2% Ascent 6,160 0 0.0% 11,141 0 0.0% Legacy 2,683 3,319 -19.2% 5,086 6,607 -23.0% Outback 12,328 14,021 -12.1% 23,269 27,300 -14.8% BRZ 242 270 -10.4% 501 505 -0.8% Crosstrek 8,257 10,625 -22.3% 16,493 20,062 -17.8% TOTAL 49,081 47,249 3.9% 95,153 91,606 3.9%
