  1. Thanks for the explanation. In my head I was thinking about the design you described for the diesel, but I forgot that valves are at an angle in gasoline engines.
  2. @dwightlooi - I had an off-topic question for you. Why couldn't a pushrod engine or even a SOHC engine still have 4 valves per cylinder?
  3. 6 minutes for what capacity though?
  4. Mercedes-Benz has debuted the third generation of plug-in hybrid GLC with a tongue twister of a name. The Mercedes-Benx GLC 350e 4Matic EQ Power... yes, that's the whole model name...will have its formal debut at the Frankfurt International Auto Show this month. The GLC 350e gets an increase in all-electric range to 28-30 miles on the NEDC rating, EPA rating is yet to be determined. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder rated for 208 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 258 lbs.-ft of torque at 1,200 - 4,000 rpm. Inside the 9-speed automatic is an electric motor that adds 121 horsepower and 325 lbs.-ft of torque for a total system output of 315 horsepower and 516 lbs.-ft of torque. Acceleration to 60 is estimated at 5.6 seconds. Level one charging (household plug) from 10% takes 7.75 hours to reach 100%. On a level two charger, that time drops to just 2.25 hours. The MBUX system can help drivers find a charging station by simply saying "Hey Mercedes, find charging stations nearby." View full article

  6. I'm buying the next two, I want to be able to take them on the long trips I do without worrying about lease mileage. We already do 14k a year on the Buick and that hasn't even been to FL yet.
  7. I've driven one.. They're a bit bouncy like the Wrangler is.
  8. Exactly. It matters more that it is a Porsche.
  9. The wheels you're talking about are the special "efficiency wheel" design. It's supposedly for those people who want to eeek every last mile out of their range.
  10. I'm really wanting hard to like the Gladiator... but not for the price.
  11. You should be all set now. Thanks for notifying me of the issue.

  13. Well yes, but you don't think any modern car is sexy, so you don't count. ?
  14. One thing that confuses me about the Bolt. It would have cost precisely $0 more to make it look sexy. It could have been a sedan like the Model 3, for slightly lower price, and actually looked good. Or it could have been a proper sized crossover... either way, it would not have cost more for them to build it that way.
  15. I think you're basically right. We're one more cycle away from having a really good selection of EVs. 2022 is when GM is going to BEV all the things. VW is starting next year. Ford should be out with some BEV SUVs and Trucks soon. The list goes on.
  16. The only things at Chevy I really like and would put in my hypothetically flat driveway are Corvette, Suburban, Tahoe, and Volt.
