  1. People have been waiting decades for a mid-engine Corvette, now the wait just got a little longer; the C8 Corvette has been officially delayed. You can blame the 40 day UAW strike and the fact that Chevrolet still has C7 Corvette orders to fulfill before Bowling Green can be switched over to build the new car. Once the C7 orders have been filled, the plant will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time in order for new tooling to be brought in and training on the new car is completed. As of now, the scheduled start of production is February 2020. View full article

  3. The Aston Martin DBX, the first SUV for the brand, will be debuting on November 20th in Beijing, China. However, some information and pictures have been released early. The starting price of the DBX in the US will be $189,900. A lot of money, but from the looks of the interior, it could be money well spent. The interior is draped in high quality leather, suede surfaces, and brushed metal trim. AM says they spent 6-months just to determine the optimum seating position for 99th percentile male to the 5th percentile female. This was done to make sure that all of the screens and even the hood are visible without restriction. The center console is the floating bridge type that allows for storage underneath. Order books for the DBX open with the debut on the 20th of November. View full article

  5. Due to some stock dealings recently, Toyota now holds just over 20% of Subaru's stock. As the two companies grow closer together, we can expect more platform and engineering sharing to happen. Case in point, the next WRX. The next WRX is still a few years away, however, Toyota and Subaru are already collaborating together on a shared platform the WRX would use. There is also a rumor that the pair are working on something new called "Super AWD", but it doesn't go into detail as to what the technology would be. There is also the possibility of an AWD compact sports coupe that would have the same performance level as the WRX STI. The current STI is fading out in Japan where production ends in December with the EJ20 Final Edition. The WRX STI runs with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 304 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft of torque. View full article

  7. The next 6-cylinder from FCA will be a turbocharged inline 6.
  8. Well the CX-5 went back to Mazda this morning. I'll have my full review up on Monday, plus possibly my first video review to follow. Next up will be the Hyundai Palisade the week of U.S. Thanksgiving.
  9. I don't think we have many dirt bike riders here, but I guess we'll see.
  10. Urea injection doesn't do either of those things.
  11. QX50 was last year. QX30 was two years before that.
  12. I've seen it where the Camry is rated better than the Accord. It's a difference of opinion of course, but the Camry has been having some noticeable "creaks and rattles" issues lately where the Accord is solid as a rock and has better engines.
  13. IF they can sell it at all.... the QX50 hasn't exactly been lighting up the sales charts. I'm not sure I've even seen more than one in the wild.
  14. "You can't dump <X> amount of <bad thing> into the air" is not an unjust law.
  15. If you think so, you should definitely call me out on it, and @William Maley too. I'm not saying that all writers do it, but there are some pretty clear biases out there.
  16. Infiniti is planning on launching five new models over the next 3 years. The first will be the QX55 that we reported on the other day. It is a crossover coupe version of their QX50 crossover and is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-liter variable compression engine. Next up is the redesigned QX60. Expect it to look much more SUV like than that of a crossover. Infiniti says the styling will be dramatically different than the QX60 on the lots today. They mention that the gas powered model will have a large grille, which implies there will be an electrified model coming as well. They are also planning on offering two 12.3-inch touch screens and a two-tone roof. The QX60 is Infiniti's best selling vehicle. After that, Infiniti will be launching three electrified vehicles, a crossover and two sedans. The vehicle will be offered as fully electric or with serial hybrid technology which is similar to that in the Chevy Volt where a gasoline engine recharges the batteries which power the car. Styling is expected to take after the Q-Inspiration concept shown at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. The three vehicles are following a "three vehicles, one platform" concept and will all be related. 18. eh... they clearly have their favorites. It's obvious when excuses are made for certain brands that are criticisms of others.
  19. Ford has unveiled the Bronco R race prototype at the SEMA auto show today. This prototype strongly hints at the direction the new Bronco will go in terms of appearance and shape. Bronco won at Baja in 1969, so for the 50 year anniversary, the prototype will go back to the Baja Peninsula later this month to take a near 1,000 mile off-road course to challenge the powertrain and architecture. The Bronco R is built on a modified version of the production body-on-frame platform. Watch for more Bronco news in the coming months.

  21. Ford teamed up with Webasto to build a new Ford Mustang EV concept car for the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas. The car is a showcase for what is possible with electrification and emerging technologies in that field. The show car comes with more than 1,000 lb.-ft of torque and 900 horsepower routed through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car has been lowered an inch and sits on 20-inch staggered forged wheels. Under the hood is a dual-core electric motor with dual power inverters. Power comes from an 800-volt Webasto battery system that can discharge a mega-watt of electrical energy. At 800 volts, the Mustang Lithium runs at twice the voltage that most electric cars on the road today use. That allows the system to be lighter, more powerful, and generate less heat. The transmission is a drag-strip version of the Getrag MT82 6-speed with billet internals to handle the huge torque. Mustang Lithium features a unique set of drive modes that apply a controlled amount of torque for different driving scenarios including: Valet, Sport, Track and Beast, and are instantly available on demand via a custom in-dash 10.4-inch touchscreen display. Ford is investing $11.5 billion in electrified vehicles by 2022, including an all-new Mustang inspired EV SUV and a Ford F-150 BEV.
