  1. Not a fair comparison. The W-body Impala essentially took over the job of 3 nameplates. Lumina, Caprice and Impala SS.
  2. You're looking the wrong direction GM. Look up! See those shiny new Z4s and SLKs and that empty spot in the Cadillac showroom? Fill it.
  3. The only time the CTS goes to the dealer is for regularly scheduled service and snow tire change overs..... sometimes I drive over there just to get a free carwash out of them.
  4. That's a tough one. I think in the long run you'll be more personally satisfied by the Lucerne. As smooth as the 5.3 in the SS is, the Northstar is smoother. The rear seat of the Lucerne will probably be easier to get a baby seat in and out of. In 5 years, the Lucerne will be more exclusive then the Impala SS. The Impala SS may be more practical for your overall situation. With a little one around, the storage spaces will be useful. If they manage to sell at or better then the previous one's rate, you'll see lots of Impalas around.
  5. 79 Eldorado/Toronado Turnsignal/headlight/highbeam indicators on the fenders and just turnsignal/brake light over the rear window
  6. Mule, what that picture can't show you is that there are layers of buttons there. You can pull a button for certain functions. I've used a similar setup in the new DTS and it's actually quite intuitive and useful. Yes there are lots of buttons, but they are easy to operate.
  7. I really don't understand why the Yaris <dumb name> isn't sold as a Scion.
  8. Does the Corvette really need more publicity though? GM should have sent the CTS(-V), Solstice, Sky, GTO, or heck even the DTS out there.
  9. .... at taking away American jobs? .....lawnmowers? .....cars for idiots who know nothing about cars?
  10. <--- retired
  11. I know it's FWD Sixty8, but the front end extension is already done for you on this one.....
  12. Well if nothing else it will help cut some costs having one less steering wheel to produce. Greater economies of scale and all that.
  13. I could call the order of results without even opening the article. Oh... and Balthy the CTS would come in 4th because the steering wheel is too big.
  14. I only spend other people's money, but I still do it conservatively.
  15. I was going to suggest Saab 9-3 to him.
  16. 13.6 liter V-16 mated to a Dynaflow.
  17. This was the pretty one: The one I posted earlier reminds me of those VW Beatles with a Rolls Royce grill pasted on.
  18. Off topic.. but I was just scrolling through pics of Desotos and came across this: It reminded me of how ugly the '58 Mercury was: And then I though to myself.... were all the late 50's mid-range brands that ugly? Yep:
  19. I think those numbers may be a bit high for "from the factory" Loki. I think 260hp 260lbft and 290hp 280lbft are a bit more likely.
  20. That would be the '89 Toronado:
  21. Doesn't matter to me as long as they name the hybrid versions of Buick models "Electra" Lacross Electra Lucurne Electra Enclave Electra
  22. GAaaaH! @ that front end! Tail end is unique.
  23. The 300 may have Grace, but that's only because Dino and Bam Bam won't let her out of the trunk.
  24. There's plenty of Benz, mostly of the E-Class variety, in these large machines. The aluminum five-link rear suspension on all 300s is based on the E-Class design, but the 300 has a wider track and bigger wheels and tires, with a steel cradle in place of the E's aluminum one. Link The new 300C and Dodge Magnum both share the Chrysler LX platform, which features components derived from the previous-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Such components include the suspension design, front seat frames, wiring harnesses, steering column, the 5-speed automatic's design, and a derivative of the 4-Matic AWD system. Link
  25. I used to work as a network administrator. It was always embarassing having "insufficient dick space".   I frequently type "and" when I ment to type "an".
