  1. I said "around town" didn't I? Usually in the city, if I'm driving a lot downtown, I get about 18mpg. But I have found the glory of the East Busway here in Pitt that puts me in downtown in 30 mins while listening to my iPod and reading a book for the mere price of $60 a month. Now, that means the remainder of my trips are leisure.... and for some reason, on this tank, I'm getting 24mpg and it's 3/4 of the way gone.
  2. but it has completely different driving dynamics compaired to the 3.6. and being in the lighter epsilon platform, it's still pretty fast. and the Saabers like their turbos.
  3. that's cause every American, that ever had a dream, dreamed of owning a Cadillac.
  4. Heck if that's the case, the W-bodies should be broken up into 4-5 different platforms if they used Nissan's method.
  5. Opps, I though that's where I originally put it.
  6. I love your backhanded compliments Fly.
  7. !!!!!
  8. Are you thinking the J30 and the first gen Altima?
  9. O.C. maybe you shouldn't drive it like it's your 'Vette. It sounds like the above poster does about the same as me. My last long distance run returned greater than 28mpg... and I wasn't gentle. Currently around town, I'm doing about 24... don't know how I'm managing that, but still.
  10. One pic of each part.... or ziplock bag of parts.
  11. PARIS (AP) - The French defense ministry on Saturday called for an internal investigation of the leak of an intelligence document that raises the possibility that Osama bin Laden may have died of typhoid in Pakistan a month ago but said the report of the death remained unverified. "According to a reliable source, Saudi security services are now convinced that Osama bin Laden is dead," said the intelligence report. linkity just in time for the mid-term elections
  12. Why is Nissan acting this desperate?
  13. Come on guys! Everyone grab your pitchforks and pile into the Avalanche!
  14. Buick wasn't always a full line division, in the 40's and 50's they had maybe 4 models. In the 60s that number when up to 5 or 6. It wasn't really till the 80s and 90s when Buick got a version of nearly every platform GM made. So if anything, Buick is returning to its roots.
  15. OOOooh. Tortoise shell wood. I'm sold!
  16. When is this due to arrive?
  17. I voted "yes" with the same disclaimer as Booyah and Croc and Detroitnut
  18. I'm not arguing with his credibility, he might be able to see the entire Toyota lineup till 2020, but that doesn't mean the GM, or anyone else for that matter, can't match it. But more importantly, when we here these "We are Toyota of Borg, Prepair to be assimulated" messages we end up with just a "ho-hum" product. Sure it's blandly styled, sure it's resonably reliable, but GM, Honda, Acura, MB have all shown they can easily "match" Toyota when they put their pencils to it.
  19. Priming the pump a bit much? If he's refering to the Tundra, the GMT-900s at least match, if not exceed it. The Cobalt is catching up to the Corolla, especially in profitability. The Cobalts MCE will fall very near to the all new Corolla, which by the looks of the spy shots, isn't something to write home about. The new CTS looks to match the GS The Lucerne is already outselling the Avalon I have my doubts that a new RWD Impala will come close to the sales of a Camry, but it will at least gain on it. So yeah, Toyota isn't that far ahead of the game.
  20. Wasn't the Sky a new for 2007 model? why isn't it in the list?
  21. Haven't you seen Motorola's new naming scheme lately? It'd be the Motorola Penr
  22. I agree that the smoking cliques tend to have all the drama going on. Most of it seemed to be internal workplace drama though. I'm so glad I'm my own business these days and don't have to deal with people like that.
  23. Another point to be made: The Cobalt making money now means two things: 1. Vehicles that were previously profitable are now more so. Apparently GM made a LOT of money on each Avalanche sold. So now with legacy costs reduced, the GMT-900s will be able to provide even more profit back to GM. 2. The lower MPG vehicles that tend to be more profitable <trucks/suvs mostly>, now can still turn a profit at a lower volume <thinking gas prices here> because they are no longer subsidizing the compact cars that weren't profitable before. The cobalt making money *really* indicates the over all health of the company at lot more than just that one platform. It's this that will allow Buick and Pontiac to sell at lower volumes with fewer platforms and still be viable.
  24. haven't you done the same with the GMT-900s?
  25. awesome!
