  1. You have as much insight into improving General Motors as the #1 Grand Marquies salesman in Florida has into improving Ford.
  2. I have about 3 minutes of laptop battery left..... here's the link to my pics Hershey 2006 sorry about no explainations so far.
  3. If Wagoner missed the boomers with any division, he missed it with Oldsmobile. The Intrique was to be aimed at the Camry drivers, Aurora to the ES and GS drivers <of the day>. Olds came closer, at least in product, than Buick ever has... and in this one regard, you are correct. Oldsmobile hadn't been marketed correctly since about 1987. Good marketing of Olds might have saved the brand considering their versions of each platform were the best of each respective platform.
  4. Give me 400ft/lbs of torque at 1700rpm with a 2-speed powerglide in a 3,300lbs car and I'll show you ripping to redline.
  5. it lost about $1.80 today and has since stabilized with volume back to normal levels. Still above $31
  6. You know what is odd? In announcing this move, Kirk has killed any chance of getting out of his GM stock profitably. He should have just kept saying "yeah, I'm planning on buying more stock" while quietly selling bits and pieces and calling it a "portfolio adjustment". I'm calling his bluff, this is just a retaliatory move on Kirks part.
  7. If that did occur then it will be time to buy more stock. The stock isn't at 32 because Kirk is a shareholder. At worst there would be a temporary dip and the stock would rebound. Sounds like Kirk is going to help me make even more money.
  8. understood, I'd just watch out for Catera stigma, since that's what I immediately thought when I saw it. <though I've always thought the Catera was attractive>
  9. in case you haven't noticed, we produce much of our own counter point. How many times have we heard the RWD rants, the Pushrod rants, the anti-badge engineering rants? While those same people generally will also have good things to say about GM. They are GM's biggest fans and harshest critics. Toyoguy, on the other hand, does none of the "biggest fan" part. His sole purpose here is to critique and spin.
  10. Awesome chops guys. The only thing I'd change would be the headlights, they need to be more vertical so you don't get a "It looks like a Catera" I realize that would be hard to do in the chop, but you guys did such great work as is.
  11. I think the LX cars are an example of thinking inside the box.... a big one.... with a waffle iron for a grill.
  12. Chris, are those tail lights L.E.D.?
  13. There is a motorcycle "gang" that frequently follows the WBC around to the funeral they attend and drown out and visibly block the Phelps gang. It originally consisted of just veterans, but now has grown to a national network of motorcyclists who gather simply to thwart Fred Phelps.
  14. Definately interested in the dinner. I'm going to be traveling with a Buick freak friend of mine <chas is staying home> and we'll be staying in Harrisburgh with Chas's brother. We're leaving Pittsburgh around 2am because he works nights, we expect to get to hershey around 6am. We're taking his '94 Roadmaster wagon he picked up at the Goodwill Auto Auction for $900 with 40k miles on it.
  15. yeah, it should be the 330TL, that'd go over well with Acura ;-)
  16. That's nice, but I really wish you could get a CTS with a mid-range V8 as well.
  17. just send it off to some museum somewhere
  18. Oh good, now I have something to replace the Avalanche with
  19. Stratoliner?
  20. Oh yeah, cause aiming for profitability is some mumbo jumbo preached by Miss Cleo
  21. They have to get back to profitability first, then concern themselves with market share. It's not like they're in a free fall, they have kept fairly steady. Market share was actually up for August.
  22. GM could get to 50% market share by giving away all the cars for free.... yeah... that's the ticket!
  23. They no longer have the infrastructure in place to support 30% at this point. Delphi couldn't keep up and neither could most of their plants. Marketshare isn't a measure of company health.
