Well, right now they don't have the dealer network.... but if Toyota can sell the xB over there, I'm sure Chevy could sell the HHR there. There once was a time when American cars were highly desirable to the ultra rich in Japan. Apparently, there were many B-body wagons and sedans imported by wealthy customers.

That is a picture of a pushrod engine.... therefore, not one of Toyota's... from any recent year anyway.

Interesting.... but I find it laughable that the FIT won over all of those other excellent choices both foreign and domestic.

I don't even both with Pittsburgh auto show anymore. The never have any concepts or future production cars. It's just a huge dealer expo and nothing more.

I don't see any "catch up" with the stats you posted at all. The hondas are tuned to providing more HP at the expense of torque while the Cadillac is tuned to produce more torque at the expense of horsepower. I'm sure if Cadillac dialed the torque to reach it's peak at 5000rpm instead of 3200rpm it would have a much higher horsepower number than it does now. It's not about catch up, it's about two different styles. Personally, I wouldn't want an engine where torque reaches full boil all the way up at 5,000rpm. You may want that. That doesn't make either engine "better". Of course, once DI is available in the Cadillac and A-Vtec in the Honda, all bets are off.

This is a case of Honda catching up to GM in engine technology. The HF3.6 has this technology now. Of course, by the time Honda gets it to market, the 3.6 will also have DI.
