  1. Did the 5.3 or 6.0 have VVT before? According to this article.... it's there now in at least one of them
  2. I would have liked to see a smaller amount.... but the idea is to entice soccer moms out of their RX330s and MDXes and into something classier. The Enclave is rather expensive, so $1000 isn't that much as a percentage of MSRP. 4.9% isn't that much of an amazing rate.... I can get 5% at the credit union.
  3. Lambda is traditionally a gay symbol.
  4. My favorite lambda feature. :gay:
  5. There is a simple solution to this .....
  6. yes.... but we love you for it.
  7. the difference is... once he gets his pants on, he makes gold records.
  8. without hijacking the thread, there is more to environmentalism than global warming. I'd rather err on the side of caution in regards to global warming, but my main cause for environmentalism and alternative fuels is in regards to energy independence from the middle east. My <former> partner, two of his brothers, and his sister have all served in Iraq. I would like to see the importance of that region minimalized as much as possible.
  9. I think a majority of Americans need to make smarter <for the country and globe> choices. Suzie SoccerMom needs to wake up and realize that driving a suburban for daily errands is not a smart choice and that an E85 fueled, 4-cylinder Saab 9-5 wagon would be much better. Leave the Suburbans for those who truely need them.
  10. is there a double standard? sure is Don Imus a doof? yes do I care if he got fired? no, he'll be back, someone will sign him
  11. no no... #1 Harvey Fierstien #2 Big Gay Al
  12. Camino gets the square.
  13. I'm going to hold you to that.
  14. why my gaydar went off..... it's usually fairly accurate on Americans, but can be confused if used on a European.
  15. Regardless of the truth of global warming, I feel it is prudent to use the cleanest fuels most efficient methods of energy generation while having a focus on diverse sources. I feel no need to waste resources simply because I can. What I think needs to happen is a change in mentality of the American public. Unfortunately, most of the American public <on both sides> has the mentality of a two year old child. I fear that John F. Kennedy's famous words ring hollow today. It is no longer "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country", but "How much can I acquire for myself regardless of the cost to others?" No one is willing to make any personal "sacrifice"* for the good of the state/country/world. Sacrifice of "wants" needs to happen before we start having to sacrifice "needs". *I don't really believe driving an E85 Saab 9-3 turbo-4 wagon rather than a Trailblazer any sacrifice at all.
  16. It was my understanding that the Rendezvous had a surprisingly high number of conquest sales. It would be great for Buick to take those conquest sales and make them repeat buyers.
  17. Don't fret. You'll be getting an MCE Cobalt soon, substantially superior Malibu, and a Lambda of your own.
  18. Oh... you're european.... I guess that explains it then...
  19. you mean... not counting the gay hair?
  20. I think China is just re-engineering other continent's designs for Chinese tastes....... sadly they end up being better than the originals.
  21. As a current platform, I'm not a fan of W-bodies. As a former owner of a Cutlass Supreme Convertible, I can appreciate the cars for what they were when they were built. In the case of the Cutlass Convert.... it was the largest, most powerful, most usable every day convertible in it's day. When the top was up, the trunk space rivaled that of some modern sedans. It could seat 4 very comfortably. With the DOHC 3.4, it could eat the V6 mustangs of the day and keep up with the V8s.
  22. Oh... and in the spirit of this thread.... Was Holden your former gay lover when you lived over seas?
  23. I think Pontiac-Custom-S doesn't have issues with the engineering of the Holdens themselves.... just with the people who are doing the engineering.
  24. It's a loophole around the stupid CAFE laws. Besides, the sales of an imported car built by GM still helps my GM stock.
  25. That part of the Wiki entry is wrong. There was a way to disable the cylinder deactivation, but I don't think it was a GM sponsored or condoned event.
