  1. oil supply isn't the problem causing the current run up in fuel costs.
  2. hybrid systems do most good in the least efficient vehicles. Getting a 35mpg vehicle to go 40mpg isn't as impressive as getting a 17mpg vehicle to go 20mpg
  3. It was my understanding the it was the Rendezvous that started the age drop for Buick
  4. Mercedes has had a lot of problems with reliability recently notably the C-class, M-class, and S-class when it first came out but I think things have quieted down for the S-class...
  5. a little over 300 for the transmission?
  6. None of my non-concept dream cars are unattainable.
  7. BV has chest hair? You're like.... 12!
  8. BMW = 2 RWD roadsters, 3 RWD/AWD sedans,2 RWD/AWD wagons, 2 RWD/AWD coupes, 2 RWD/AWD convertibles, 2 RWD/AWD SUVs <with another on the way>, 1 mini-van on the way. Mercedes Benz = 2 RWD roadsters, 4 RWD/AWD sedans, 1 wagon, 1 Minivan, 2 SUVs, 1 convertible, 1 coupe <I think I missed something> Audi = 1 hatch, 3 Sedans, 1 SUV, 1 roadster, 1 convertible Lexus = 4 sedans, 1 roadster, 3 SUVs Is it any wonder that Cadillac is getting their ass handed to them in terms of sales when their product mix is 4 SUVS, 3 Sedans, and and ultra priced roadster? Cadillac needs to match at least MB but preferably BMW, model for model.... except perhaps for the minivan part.

  10. That settles it.... time to e-mail bomb Jill L then.....
  11. How did this turn from a thread about Wilmington and the Kappas to a thread reminiscing about the Chevette!?!
  12. I don't think Ford's plans ever included replacing NYC's 13,000 yellow crown vics with 13,000 yellow escape hybrids. This is a law passed by NYC in the past week. Give Ford some time to react.
  13. And here I thought this was a thread about CD....
  14. it's probably something more like methadone....
  15. I would be in Lansing in a heartbeat if they did this for the Sigma factory.
  16. I have to give it to Buick..... it takes balls to say "The finest luxury crossover E.V.A.R"
  17. woah, that opening shot is HOT
  18. Balthy, that assumes that the domestics end up offering no more than what's on the table today. I could see a 300/Charger hybrid using the GM/DCX two-mode system. I could see a Taurus hybrid <in fact I almost expect one> I could see a Zeta Impala hybrid using the GM/DCX two-mode
  19. I think he must not like his mother in law.
  20. now would be a great time for Ford to announce a hybrid Taurus....
  21. NEW YORK — The city's yellow taxi fleet will go entirely hybrid within five years, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Tuesday. Link to Newsvine Nearly 400 fuel-efficient hybrids have been tested in the city's taxi fleet over the past 18 months, with models including the Toyota Prius, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, the Lexus RX 400h and the Ford Escape. Under Bloomberg's plan, that number will increase to 1,000 by October 2008, then will grow by about 20 percent each year until 2012, when every yellow cab — currently numbering 13,000 — will be a hybrid.
  22. While I expect the Astra to cost more than an Ion, I don't think you'd be looking at A4 money. It really comes down with your priorities. If you're looking for lowest cost, go with Aveo hatch. Most bang for your buck, go with Vibe. Most bang for your buck in a semi-premium package, go with Astra. If you can spend a little more coin, Carsdirect.com is suggesting that a Saab 9-3 wagon with 5-speed auto and 2.0 litre can be had for around 25k.
  23. Sorry guys, I've been reading this for a while now. I thought you knew about it.
