  1. UAW, why don't go do something useful.... like unionize Toyota.. after all, they're American now.
  2. The fed rate cut last week is only going to make things worse in that regard. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw an additional cut before Xmas.
  3. if the trooper wanted you, he was going to get you from behind anyway..... wait.... that didn't come out right.
  4. Cheap in a Timex clock sort of way? Or cheap in a way where you can pull the center stack apart with your bare hands like TED! did at an autoshow on a Camry?
  5. You can't handle the fruit!!
  6. I keep a pot of hot Earl Gray on my desk till about noon then I switch to cans of Dr. Pepper. Otherwise, I'm non-functional.
  7. Never was big on the look of the Aero-bird. I liked the Aero-Cats and Mark VIIs, but they handled like a pig on rollerskates. The whole platform felt very front heavy... something you wouldn't expect in a RWD car. I remember going around an elevated clover leaf in the rain and feeling the rear end slide out just a little every time we passed over an expansion joint. As for the Taurus... it was a completely new look for the era. It also proved that bland sells. It was the best selling family car in America till it's redesign.. when it was replaced by the equally bland Camry.
  8. Arnold is not pro-gay rights. The legislature has passed a pro-gay marriage bill twice and he's vetoed it twice.
  9. What do you make of this? Well, I could make a broach, or a hat, or a pterodactyl....
  10. If the next one is cute like the last one was, I may try hitting on him.......
  11. I was watching CSI Miami today on OnDemand and they play two '08 CTS ads. The first one's tag line is "You can either be the nail that sticks out.... or you can be the hammer." but the best one goes "In the luxury car game, it no longer about if your car has a 40 gigabyte hard drive, it's not about pop up navigation screens, it's not about ultra-view sunroofs, or Zexxxxx wood trim..... The question is... when you turn your car on... does it return the favor?" Then the hot woman behind the wheel gives a smirk and raises her eyebrow. Run' em everywhere GM
  12. Whoops, thanks. I've taken the Acela to DC before too.
  13. Very true. If a classic car is running poorly, usually owners opt not to drive it till it's repaired. that is... unless you consider a 1983 Dodge Caravan a classic.....
  14. 3 to 5 years ideally. depends on if I meet a nice German guy and settle down. Whatever happens, I'm not returning to Pittsburgh to live.
  15. I bought the CTS new, Avalanche used. Having just learned that the Camaro will be for sale in Germany.... that makes my purchase decision in 16-18 months a little more difficult. What better to prowl around on the Autobahn with than America's best sedan or best coupe?
  16. GM was just joshin ya when they called it an Aurora.... it's really a Toronado 4-door coupe.
  17. have they all be the same or similar engine/vintage?
  18. I've been suffering every day since I've been back even though I eat Clariton like they are M&Ms.
  19. I think it's time to revisit a steam powered car. The ricers would hate it though because it'd have a redline about about 500rpm and the torque peak occurs at 0 rpm.
  20. Because where is the flair in riding on a coal train? Streamlining was an effort to attract passengers with the boldest designs. Few of the freight engine <only the F-series EMDs, FA series Alcos, Fairbanks Morse C-liners, and Baldwin Sharks> were ever really streamlined. The Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster was one of the most powerful freight engines of it's day back in the early 50s. It's essentially a rolling brick. The Union Pacific Big Boy wasn't exactly a looker, but certainly was a sight to see. It was the largest steam locomotive ever built. Today we have the Acela that runs on the North East corridor between Boston and NYC. It's quite streamlined.
  21. I would have suggested that they keep the Lucerne and position the Zeta Park Ave above it. The Chinese version would certainly be more premium than even a top of the line Lucerne.
  22. My motivations completely. plus, I hate seeing waste.
  23. If I don't get a CTS-D, I'll get a 159.
  24. you left out the "after your major appliances" part.....
  25. Apparently he brought a chunk of the Toyota Spin department with him.
