  1. doesn't diesel always fluctuate opposite gasoline? High in the winter, low in the summer because it is also used as heating fuel.
  2. Actually, it's obviously dated because it actually fits in any major port or through most major locks.
  3. There would be from me. I haven't seen the article about it, but I would bet that the Norwegians aren't sailing under the guise of "scientific research" with orders to kill 1,000 whales. Apparently the Japanese government and the whaling industry is borrowing Toyota's PR department for the weekend.
  4. Lancer + Eclipse + Mazda 3 = Mazda 2 I wonder when the Mazda Mazda2 MazdaSpeed 6-speed will be released...
  5. Time for Greenpeace to buy a submarine..... and torpedoes.
  6. why all the concern about price per gallon?..... think about it in terms of price per mile. In terms of a Tahoe, the highway mileage is 21mpg. At $3.29 per gallon you're talking 15.6 cents per mile if the Tahoe's highway mileage was 30mpg, at $3.49 per gallon you're talking 11.6 cents per mile. After 15,000 miles you've used 605 gallons less fuel and saved $1,641 dollars assuming the price difference remains the same. If selecting the diesel over the gasoline engine costs $2,000*, once you pass 18,276 miles, you've paid off the price difference. *amount based on my observations of VW and MB diesels.
  7. I still would like to see some "performance" diesels, I think the 4.5 diesel in a Zeta would do quite nicely, and hey, if it gets 30mpg in a full size truck, imagine how it will do in a lighter more aerodynamic Zeta.
  8. 2.9 litre V6 diesel and 4.5 litre V8 diesel I haven't heard the specs on the 4.5, but the 2.9 makes 255hp and 403 ft/lbs. of torque. It may not be exactly the recipe that Camino was hoping for, but I think he'd be quite content with a 4.5 litre diesel Ute stump ripper.
  9. I agree with you here. Most platforms should be globally compatible and built on each continent. The extremes of full sized trucks and micro cars would have to vary by market.
  10. yet all global
  11. GM Europe - wasn't epsilon mostly Saab's doing? GMNA - Sigma, Kappa
  12. uh, isn't it cheaper to build cars on the same continent they are to be consumed on?
  13. GM's marketing got their head out of their ass about 10 years too late to save olds. Edit: Where did you get these BTW?
  14. I wonder if that's the same model my parents have and still use.
  15. big oil line fire kills 28 in Saudi Arabia..... which way do you think gas is going to head?
  16. I'd love one if it wasn't in a VW.
  17. Actually, I think it looks like a 5-series/Lexus LS photochop
  18. uh... wasn't it agreed on at the begining that the other business would be in on the deal. I'm pretty sure they kicked in some development dough.
  19. damn missed....
  20. Give it a face lift and I'd agree with you Fly..... until then.... they're wasting T/C ecotecs on THAT?!?
  21. ....and then you get behind the wheel.....
