  1. I called Ms. Cleo. She said to expect lots of turbo charging, direct injection, smaller displacements and some 2 mode hybrids thrown in for good measure.
  2. Something is up with your fonts. The letters are all out of alignment with each other. But overall, no, too Apple. It still needs to have a brushed steel look in there somewhere.
  3. I've been staying out of this because of my relationship history in 2007 but the urge to comment in this thread is overwhelming. Take the keys. Change the locks. Throw his stuff into a box. One doesn't get defensive about going to visit a friend. He's lying and he's not even good at it.
  4. G6 or GP tied for 1st. If it were me I'd go GP just because it's a familiar platform and I like larger cars. Cobalt last but.... a GP... to big and cumbersome?! It's a compact by 1960s standards.... then again, I'm driving a car that rivals my former avalanche for cargo capacity and it's size feels just about right, so my views may be slightly skewed.
  5. The Germans.
  6. At a rally a man shouted at Obama, "You'd make a much better President than G.W. Bush" Obama shouted back, "So would you!"
  7. you mean... before you get around to doing it.....
  8. Wealthier Japanese used to import B-bodies.
  9. How can I miss you if you won't go away?
  10. I can't put my finger on it... but why does this look a bit more upscale than the regular Cobalt. Body shape hasn't changed... but something is different.
  11. didn't the new saab 9-4x concept have a 300hp Ecotech?

  15. Was PCS working for BMW then?
  16. Did you click the links? I posted the times. As far as the Lucerne looking better... I think the sales numbers back me up on that one. Boring or appliance means that the item in question has no personality, there is nothing remarkable about it, and if you scraped the badges off, non-enthusiasts wouldn't be able to identify the brand. The Lucerne, while conservative, does invoke the looks of a Buick.
  17. You are sooooo getting one of these decals for the ST. Even if I have to sneak into the barn at night to do it.
  18. It's not... however life will be considerably more exciting with the extra $3,000 in my pocket that I don't spend on the Toyota.
  19. or small ones.... it all depends on your point of view...
  20. but is the dashboard soft enough to wipe my ass with like in a Passat.
  21. Look up some of my posts then.... I harp on VW/Audi all the time due to prior experiences with them. My complaints about BMW's actual cars are minimal, I just find them to be stylistically unremarkable. The only BMW that catches my fancy is the 7-series. My real beef with BMW is that the badges are worth more than the cars themselves. Jeremy Clarkson has a really good quote in the segment where he compares the Vauxhaul VXR8 and the 5-er. He points to the BMW badge on the hood and says "This right here is worth 30,000£"... because he finds the Vauxhaul and the 5-er to be sooo close in everything else. If GM threw a BMW badge on a CTS they'd be able to sell for 25% more. After the 300c, Chrysler really took some big steps backwards in design.
  22. just sayin....
  23. So what? You're in So.Cal.... even the bums there drive rusted out BMWs. I see A-body Cierras and Centurys all the time. It seems most of the Celebrities and 6000s have gone to the great junkyard in the sky. I'd say it's a 30/70 garaged/ghetto ratio on the A-bodies I see. The nice ones are very very nice. The ghetto ones range from "well used" to "rolling environmental hazard". Cierras seem to have a better survival rate and are usually puttering along at 10 mph under the speed limit with Edgar or Mable Bluehair behind the wheel. Camries and Cressidas pre '92 are basically non-existent. So much so that Dominic and I found it remarkable to see a Cressida on the road last week and even admired the good condition it was in. The older Toyotas simply could not survive the winters in Pittsburgh. The 1992 and above body style seems to be their turning point. The A-bodies, many being ghetto, are still... unfortunately... on the road.
  24. Because that would have been so different than all the other ads with cars driving around mountain roads or down long stretches of empty road......
  25. define "real"
