  1. Imagine if instead of spending 3 trillion dollars on the Iraq war we had: 1. Fully funded, no, OVER funded Amtrak to redevelop itself into a system with an infrastructure that would make the Germans, French and Japanese envious? The reduction in petroleum used for airlines and cars would be huge. 2. Executed a MASSIVE deployment of wind energy across the nation. A recently approved wind farm project is supposed to cost $450 million and produce enough energy to power 100,000 homes. Extrapolate it out, and a $3 trillion wind farm project would power 660 million homes. 3. Offered 100% rebates to homeowners to install alternative energy on their homes, be it solar, wind, or geothermal. 4. Built 100 BioButanol plants throughout the US <assumes a very expensive $3 billion each>. BioButanol is a drop in replacement for gasoline.
  2. The article is wrong. Sales of Mini-vans <Mazda 5, Kia Rondo, Dodge Journey> are way up. VW would be wise to bring the Touran over here. Saturn would do well with the Opel Meriva, Zafira, and an Insignia Caravan. Likewise Ford C-max, S-max, and Mondeo wagon. It's the Full sized vans <Odyssey, Sienna, Town & Country> that are way down. Nothing that tips the scales over 4,500 lbs deserves to be called "mini"

Model year or calendar year? Just curious....

I want the diesel and I have money in euros already.

Speaking of which, I just priced out der neue CTS in Germany. Configured the way I want it is 42,000 euro... quite doable. But the diesel doesn't appear to be available...... STILL. oh... sorry. This is a GM site, I suppose I should price out a 3-series instead.
  7. only if you're planning on holding for a long time... probably more than 5 years.

A Cadillac salesman who talks his customers into BMWs?

It's no wonder GM is struggling when they have salesmen like you.....
  10. I think you've been sniffing gas too much......

DOHC V8 <for those who can't handle the thought of pushrods> More conservative styling both inside and out. The STS does feel slightly bigger inside. The new CTS feels smaller inside than the first model. not saying I would decide in that direction... just listing possible reasons.

I just don't see it, they're both conservative and subtle: How is this Driver oriented and Teutonic? While this isn't? The both are horizontally oriented and flat with no canting towards the driver. The 1st gen CTS and both generations of Aurora have more driver oriented interiors than either of these vehicles. The center stack of the 5-er looks really jumbled to me. The center stack's buttons on the STS look a bit small in their packaging. btw, Teutonic means Germanic... so BMW forwarding "teutonic" as a desirable trait is a bit like Listerine inventing "chronic halitosis". By definition, this counts as "Teutonic" also: arg... I'll fix the picture links later when I'm not hindered by the webnazi at work.
  13. Seriously! I rarely drive into work but today it was just a mess!
  14. Screw you and your ability to tie up traffic in my town by depressing all the Pens fans! :AH-HA_wink:
  15. Where can I find fleet numbers on the Yaris?

You were expecting George Lucas? Interiors need to be functional and handsome.
  17. PCS implied Alpha for Buick
  18. Is Toyota having problems with production or something?
  19. Have you picked out where we are registering for our wedding yet?
  20. It's a shame Chrysler can't keep the Sprinter. It's an fuel economical alternative to Econolines and Safaris.
  21. Cancer just targets whatever is closest and consumes it. No, this is more like long range biological warfare launched by leaders of much smaller countries attempting to spread their way of doing things inside the US.
  22. Wow, what happened with the Optima. Was there a refresh I wasn't aware of?
  23. Wow, Lexus got pwned! Tundra is going to barely crack 120,000 at this rate, weren't they shooting for 200,00? They praise the Corolla, yet it's YTD sales are down 9.5%..... For all the noise Toyota is making about the Pruis, down 39% in a month where gas prices have jumped nearly 50cents is amazing. 2.2% YTD increase is nothing special. Camry is doing well, but Malibu must be taking sales. Total 'Bu sales are up 34% and retail 'Bu sales are up over 100%. Yaris doing very very well, but I'm surprised by tC numbers.
  24. Only 1 percent retail increase for Cobalt? Time for the Delta II was yesterday GM.... I am honestly surprised with how well the Lambdas are doing. I expected them to really hit the skids. Good to see the Malibu and CTS still doing well.
  25. Hardly. To neglect means to ignore. When a body takes steps against another, it is abuse, malice, or revenge.
