  1. McCain was for community organizing before he was against it.
  2. wouldn't look half good either.
  3. There is almost always a jump after the conventions. Obama didn't get much of a jump because the conventions were so close together this year and McCain essentially steamrolled over the DNC bounce with his own convention. Things will level out again in a week after swinegate has run its course. Polls right now are going to be volatile until the debates.
  4. "Well if you were going to take it that way, Palin is the lipstick.... McCain is the pig." The End.
  5. yup, and that's wrong
  6. Again, I'm not saying permanent subsidies. I'm saying that government help the technology reach critical mass. Farming isn't a new technology and is well past critical mass. I'm not asking you to agree with me, just to understand the logic behind my reasoning.
  7. Speaking of easily refutable......
  8. Forget about Obama, I don't think McCain saw her coming. Her biggest problem is that she tells easily refutable lies. All politicians lie, but at least be smart about it. I'm curious why the media hasn't called her out on the "I was always against the Bridge to Nowhere" lie the way they did with Clinton's "Ducking under sniper fire" lie.
  9. Remember when the whole country was a free speech zone? The real kicker? The RNC took out insurance to cover any police brutality or improper arrest lawsuits.
  10. This is beyond karma at this point. Here's John McCain with one of his endlessly repeated, grandpa-at-Thanksgiving, punchline provided, anecdotes: "We're not going to spend $3 million of your tax dollars to study the DNA of bears in Montana," McCain said earlier this year, referring to a request from Montana for federal money to study the endangered grizzly bear. "I don't know if it was a paternity issue or criminal, but it was a waste of money." Here's what Sarah Palin brought home to Alaska in pork: According to a “summary of requests for federal appropriations” posted to her budget office’s website earlier this year, Palin requested millions of federal dollars for everything from improving recreational halibut fishing to studying the mating habits of crabs and the DNA of harbor seals. Sure, he vetted her. But all this is only really instructive when you listen to Palin on the stump: “In just three years our opponent has requested nearly one billion dollars in earmarks. That’s nearly a million dollars for every working day,” Palin told a crowd in Lebanon, Ohio, Tuesday. “So as we reform the abusive earmarks in our state our opponent was requesting nearly a billion dollars in earmarks as a senatorial privilege as I was vetoing half a billion as an executive responsibility.” The DNA of seals?
  11. Look back to where I feel that energy is a national security issue and you may understand my position better. I feel it is a far better investment to spend money on new wind power than it is to spend money to lob a bunch of cruise missiles at middle eastern wedding parties.
  12. Just for Europe. We won't get it here.
  13. Now, as much as we all have a need for speed, wouldn't it make more sense for Cadillac to offer the diesel in all of the CTSes rather than making a CTS-v wagon?
  14. Kinda like what McCain was in 2000.
  15. It's still mock outrage over a hundred year old phrase.
  16. 1. We already have a fairly decentralized grid. Yes there are weak spots that need to be strengthend, but you'll never be able to ship wind energy from the Mid West or solar from the South west without the large national grid. The problem with the grid now is that no one wants to pay for it. There is no profit in shipping electricity. The rest are just details. What I was trying to show is that on the whole, you and I are a lot alike politically and I'm not some "damn dirty liberal".
  17. Once Palin says something, it becomes off limits? Is that because we have to be deferential to her?
  18. Quite simply.... no. He shouldn't correct himself or apologize at all. He said nothing wrong.
  19. I can imagine a world where there is no war, a world where there is no strife..... .... and I can imagine us attacking that world.... because they'd never expect it.
  20. Useage of the phrase "Lipstick on a pig" on just this website alone: Here Here Here Here Referenced here Referenced here Here Here Here Here Here There are 3 pages worth of results.... in case you're curious.
  21. What Obama should say:
  22. The status quo is the Bush admin, McCain, and the Clintons. He's taking them on just fine.
  23. Considering the Cobalt was the fastest FWD around the ring until 2 months ago and beat out BMWs and Ferarris........ it could certainly be worse.
  24. by that you mean Audi and Lexus?
  25. uh, whatever happened to "taxes are bad", "taxes on the rich are bad", and "taxes on corporations are bad"? Her tax cut is exactly the opposite of Horse and Sparrow theory. I'm not even against her tax cut, I think it was a good thing. I'm just against you using it as an example of Palin "Taking on the Oil Companies" because it is directly contrary to your entire economic policy. Geeze, at least keep your flawed arguments consistent!
