  1. 1966 - Oldsmobile introduces first FWD car for the masses.
  2. Hello Lusitania? This is the Titanic, we're taking on a bit of water over here and thought if we tied up together we might stay afloat.
  3. And in South Carolina, 75% of the population wanted separate (but equal, hahah) sections in restaurants and buses for "coloreds". And in Virginia, 75% of the population wanted a ban on inter-racial marriage. And in Alabama, 75% of the population wanted non-integrated schools. just saying.....
  4. Oil tumbles $4.35/bbl to $96.94 out of the gate on news of Lehman filing for Bankrupcy protection/Bank of America aquires Merrel Lynch for $50 billion. Before you all start cheering.... this is a very bad thing for the economy because it shows that the government is now unwilling/unable to do any more bailouts.
  5. Love it! Love it! Love it! When Karl Rove is shaking his finger at you for getting too sleezy in a political campaign.... man you are GOING places!
  6. Fixing errors is what I do.
  7. The national debt. It's crippling out country. Our next war will (is??) be fought financially. Read about what happened to Britain in the 1950s to understand why that was the final blow to them being a major power. The important bit:
  8. Name your favorite President or political figure. Doesn't have to be for political reasons. Me? My favorite President is Andrew Jackson. Reasons: Kicked the snot out of a British army, 50% larger than his own, after the truce was agreed on, forcing the British to abide by it. He was the target of the first assassination attempt against a U.S. President. An insane, out of work house painter blamed Jackson for his perpetual unemployment. He followed Jackson to the capital rotunda and fired two pistols at Jackson. Both pistols fortunately misfired. Jackson then beat the man with his cane until his aids restrained him. Jackson fought 13 duels, many nominally over his wife's honor. Charles Dickinson, the only man Jackson ever killed in a duel, had been goaded into angering Jackson by Jackson's political opponents. In the duel, fought over a horse-racing debt and an insult to his wife on May 30, 1806, Dickinson shot Jackson in the ribs before Jackson returned the fatal shot; Jackson actually allowed Dickinson to shoot first, knowing him to be an excellent shot, and as his opponent reloaded, Jackson shot, even as the bullet lodged itself in his chest. The bullet that struck Jackson was so close to his heart that it could never be safely removed. Jackson had been wounded so frequently in duels that it was said he "rattled like a bag of marbles." At times he would cough up blood, and he experienced considerable pain from his wounds for the rest of his life.
  9. But you're not actually contributing anything. I'm happy to debate you and would really enjoy if you'd participate if you were going to actually debate.
  10. If you click your heals together three times, Dorothy, and say "There's no place like home"..... well doncha know, you don't need a car anymore?!
  11. Yes, because there is a huge political bias to Econ 101.
  12. It's all yours man. All yours. edit: And yet still no links.....
  13. I'm hoping to be able to help fix error number 43. :AH-HA_wink:
  14. I am not far left and I'm ridiculing him for it. There are Republicans who don't approve of his pick. The point is, had he picked a more worthy VP of either gender, he would not be subjected to this now. Off the top of my head, Whittman would have made a decent choice if he wanted a woman VP. Half of the criticism would melt away because few could argue with her credentials and only her policies would be left.
  15. Hey man, show me links that show I'm wrong. You haven't been able to yet. Burden of proof is now on you. "Lipstick on a pig" is a common phrase and I have proven it using just posts from C&G. Horse and Sparrow theory doesn't work, there is over 80 years of history to prove that. Palin contradicts herself regularly, 15 minutes on YouTube will prove that. A rash, uninformed, purely political, VP pick is not conservative, Webster will prove that.
  16. Greenspan was a major contributer to the mess we're in now so I automatically question his judgment...... but he's still right in this case.
  17. If nothing else, McCain wouldn't have been subjected to all this ridicule.
  18. Fight me all you want, but I still have the truth on my side. I'm link happy.
  19. All of those other actors being wrong/crazy doesn't mean that Matt Damon is also. Oh noess1!!!11 Whitmann said one dumb thing! Can we start counting Palin's dumb statements?
  20. Still gouging. Still no major movement in the wholesale prices.
  21. Well, I'm certain of this much. NO B-PILLAR!!!!
  22. If you really want to take it that way, Palin is the lipstick, McCain is the pig. Useage of the phrase "Lipstick on a pig" on just this website alone: Here Here Here Here Referenced here Referenced here Here Here Here Here Here There are 3 pages worth of results.... in case you're curious.
