Two bad choices for President - do you agree?
Drew Dowdell replied to trinacriabob's topic in The Lounge
80+ years of trickle down economics have led us to where we are today. You keep posting this erroneous statement over and over as if repeating it will make it true. But tell you what... I'll support a tax cut (not really a cut, but an extension of the Bush reductions) if you support a MASSIVE increase in the minimum wage for full time workers. Income has STAGNATED for the past 40 years in this country. CEOs are now making 400 times the salary as your average workers... and for what? For driving this country head first into the iceburg. By infusing the middle class with funds they will have money to spend on "stuff". A CEO doesn't need a tax cut to buy a new car, "Joe Sixpack" does. My great grandfather was the President of a multinational cooperation. He did well, but he wasn't pulling down anything like what these CEOs are getting today. He and my great-grandmother had one car, a 1983 Caprice Classic V6, and a modest town home. We don't have balance today. The republicans have created an unregulated free for all in the banking industry. McCain wants to do the same for your healthcare. You are so off the mark with your "Obama killz bidneessses" it's laughable. Most small businesses do NOT make over $250k a year AGI. Most small businesses will get tax CUTS. Companies ALREADY don't have money to pay their employees but it is NOT BECAUSE OF TAXES!!!!! Holy crap you're getting aggravating by repeating this over and over even though I've corrected you already. REPEAT AFTER ME: THIS IS NOT A TAX PROBLEM. THIS IS A CREDIT PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT A TAX PROBLEM. THIS IS A CREDIT PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT A TAX PROBLEM. THIS IS A CREDIT PROBLEM. Please please please PLEASE learn this and understand it! If you think that was anything other than a purely political move, you're more out of it than I thought. McCain was SMART not to take that bait. McCain is unlike Bush in that he can form complete sentences. In case you missed it, pictures and video of McCain at an ACORN function surfaced over the weekend. Large donors that funded and endorsed McCain have also funded Ayers. McCain's head of transition team was a lobbyist for Saddam Hussein. You are now simply full of it. McCain has been to ACORN functions. McCain has accepted money from people who have funded terrorism <Ayers> McCain has man on his campaign staff who was a lobbyist for Saddam Hussein. McCain has Borrow and Spend policies that will only further this nation's currency crisis. -

What in sam hell are you talking about? Most small businesses DO NOT have an adjusted gross income higher than $250,000. How do you account for the 11million people now out of work in this country? Are they now so affluent that they were middle class, but now don't have to work? You want to see Socialist? How about this bank bailout? $700 Billion dollars going to the richest people in this country... and even in other countries. If you're going to go on uninformed rants, at least have the decency to link to things to back your $h! up. -
You gotta hand it to McCain, he doesn't do things half way. While Obama may have been paling around with washed up former terrorist funded by Republicans, , the head of McCain's transition team was a lobbyist (*gasp*) for a genocidal dictator.

When you say "don't think it should be legislated", what do you mean by that? I'm curious where you got the idea that you cannot be incorrect on this matter even when opposing evidence is shown? Acknowledgment of fallibility is humbling, but it is also the first step in learning. -
Look who is posting on there....
-
Nothing here either? You have to have something to say about McCain accepting endorsements/money from people who have funded the terrorist Ayers.
-
Nothing Balthazar? I was hoping you were going to comment on McCain participating in ACORN events like you said you would......

1. 16 years in office is "completely inexperienced"? 2. The details behind his rhetoric is laid out for all the world to see on his website, if you'd take the time to study it you may have a better understanding of what he wants to do. 3. If sounding like a Bible church preacher is the worst you can come up with, I think we'll be ok. Obama/Biden '08 - Bringing phonics back to the Whitehouse. -

So... wait. You won't vote for Obama and one of the reasons you cite is lack of experience, yet you're interested in a washed up action movie star who happens to be conservative yet has never held a public office ever! -
PCS said everyone at GM's email changed. So what I have probably no longer works. I did get a personal reply way back when though.
-
I emailed Lutz. He said no. But that was a year ago at least.
-
Damn those are hot shots! Thank you for finding/posting them. GM is making a HUGE mistake not bringing this over in diesel form...... Even if they only did it in limited numbers, there'd be a waiting list for them!

Looks like you and I have something in common after all!

from what I hear, Midland Mortgage is TERRIBLE.

Ask Subaru how their Legacy Outback with the rear roof chopped off worked out for them...... .... actually, it wasn't a bad vehicle... it was just much too expensive. -
?? Plumbbomb was in the kiloton range. Castle Bravo was 48 megatons.... I still win! But just for good measure.... Tzar Bomba: Largest nuclear device ever exploded.

Republican machers Walter and Leonora Annenberg gave the former terrorist $50 million. They also gave money to Rick Santorum, Strom Thurmond and Mitt Romney. Annenberg was Nixon's ambassador to Britain. If Obama is "palling around with terrorists," the Republican Annenbergs are funding them. Yesterday, the McCain campain put out a press release boasting that Leonore Annenberg had just endorsed him for president. Why is McCain happy to accept the endorsement of a funder of terrorism?

So there I am hanging out on the Quad during break in my raincoat, Prada of course, looking for fresh recruits. I spot the campus jock walking across the field. I saunter up to him and say "Why don't you be gay? You get lots of sex, but your family will disown you, your teammates will beat you up, landlords won't rent to you, and bosses will fire you" To which he replies, "WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!?!" I tell him, "First you need to get out of those old stonewashed jeans an into something more form fitting so that it shows off your package better and meet me at the Starbucks across from the gay bar to prepare for initiation... oh.. and bring pomade.... we'll have plenty of lube." I radio the GAY AGENDA for this evening back to Homo headquarters in San Fran for approval..... and include pics. New Homo-jock shows up at the Starbucks at 9pm..... I stroll in around 9:20, fashionably late of course, and order myself a grande, spiced pumpkin latte, soy milk, no whip, with a shot of vanilla. New Homo-jock, looking a bit nervous, glances around to see if anyone is watching. "I'm not so sure about this.", he whispers. "Oh HUSH!", I say, "With that hair, that ass, and those cheekbones, you were just born to be gay!" "But I don't even like Cher!" he whines. "That's ok sweetheart, you have plenty of divas to choose from. There's Madonna, Celine, Babs, Judy, Liza..." The rest of the initiation gang shows up... unfashionably late (rolls eyes dramatically)... and after putting in orders that make the Starbucks baristta want to gouge his eyes out with yesterdays petite vanilla scones... begin their assessment. Pomade is applied generously. Ike offers new homo-jock some tina (god that joke never gets old!) but I wave him away. "Girls!" I shout, (not a female in the entire store), "It's time to take him over to Babylon. First one to get him into bed is the winner! First to get him to dance on the catwalk with his shirt off covered in body glitter is 1st runner up!" and so the night of initiation for a new member of the most fabulous clique in the world begins..... -

Fallacy of assumption. You assume that homosexuality is something that needs to be cured. This is incorrect, thus the rest of your argument falls apart. Any person with a brain would notice that homosexuality occurs in all societies across the entire time line and in many many many species. It is a variant just like left handedness and red hair. To say that homosexuality doesn't occur naturally is to ignore the data. Homosexuality harms no one. Not the practitioners and not the people surrounding them. Thus there is no problem to address, no disease to cure. Please don't go down the "if everyone was gay" slippery slope.... I'm tired of that argument even though I win it every. single. time. -

Because it's quite well known in the gay community that he's one of us.
