US Supreme Court overturns 1937 corporate campaigning ruling
Actually, the case was about whether we treat corporations as individuals or not. Edit: I wouldn't have nearly as much problem with the ruling if there weren't already so much media consolidation out there. Break up the media groups into much smaller "individuals" and then at least the playing field will be level. As it stands, this ruling means that we're going to have Glenn Beck turned up to 11 and drowning out all other voices simply because he'll get the most corporate money. Free speech is great and all, but what's the point if I can't hear it for all the noise.

I'm going to diverge from SAmaldei and suggest that you might have a fuel injector issue.... and if not there, fuel pump.

at the risk of this getting too political, though everyone here seems to agree in principle the court decision is bad, what do you think of one of the 6 new campaign finance bills that just popped up. 500% excise tax on corporation campaign expenditures.

and with the amount of coverage that money buys. Spending $12,000 a year on some "influencer" tweeter will get you a lot more coverage and a lot more infuance than just buying ads in newspapers.

This is more dangerous today than it was back in 1907.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Drew Dowdell replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Opinions are fine. There are opinions and there is bashing. Not personally liking a car is one thing. Hoping for it's failure is another.

Detroit 2010: Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept
Drew Dowdell replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Just remember my age old quote "GM could produce a fully working model of Christ himself and people would still complain about the water to wine function only dispensing Merlot" Just look at the CTS-V. It smacks around the M5 in every measurable way. It took a 20 year old driving a manual M3 against a 78 year old in an automatic CTS-V to only lose by a very small margin, it has an interior that anyone could be proud of..... and yet we still have people whining about pushrods, rear sunshades and the lack of 103 way power seats and bringing up the Cimarron in the very first sentence of reviews. When us "Cadillac Defenders" see people attacking what looks to be a very capable Cadillac for it's target audience, I hope you'll understand why we see the need to push back with... you know... facts and stuff. If this really were a warmed over G-body DTS refresh, and looked the part, I'd be releasing the dogs right there with you. But it's not....

Drew Dowdell replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I have no problems with the XTS as is, but I'd love to see this just be a design study that ultimately ends up on Zeta so a whole bunch of you can drink a nice steaming cup of STFU and still not buy it. I mean really, this much vitriol for a car that 99.9% of you couldn't afford new anyway.

Plans for 1,800-mile
Chicken/Egg The engines that have the fair fuel economy deficit are the relatively low compression pushrod V6es. Ethanol is effectively over 100 octane which means you can dial up the boost on a turbo quite a bit. The new Regal's turbo is going to be flex fuel from the factory which can be exciting from a performance standpoint. Imagine a Taurus SHO or Ford F-150 3.7t running the stuff with the boost turned way up.
