  1. See, read "Eau Claire", but my mind sees
  2. Invision Power Board v.3 is Here! A big thank you to all of the members who have contributed towards the upgrade of the CheersandGears.com forum software. I purchased the software last night and it was delivered to me this morning. Watch this space for updates on downtime and maintenance schedules over the next few weeks. Many thanks for your patience and here's to an even better Cheers and Gears! -Oldsmoboi P.S. Feel free to comment in this thread.
  3. Oldsmoboi's Birthday Challenge Contest open till November 21st, 2009 at 11:59pm Since I was a kid, I've always felt that Pontiac should have gotten an E-body, but a sportier version. You can see hints of sportiness in the Buick Riviera T-Type and the Oldsmobile Toronado XSC. What I want to see is what a 1979 - 1985 Pontiac E-Body would have looked like had GM produced one. So sketch, draw, or chop me up a car. Any 1979-1985 Eldorado, Toronado, Seville, or Riviera is an eligible base. I'll be judging the entries myself. Every entrant will receive a C&G related prize for entering the contest. The grand prize is a 1:18 scale model 1966 Toronado The rules: 1. The contest is open to registered Cheers and Gears members with a valid email address and an account in good standing (not suspended for bad behavior). 2. Multiple entries are allowed, but only one prize per entrant. 3. The picture must be posted in this thread using the upload feature. 4. URL links to other websites will not be accepted. The prize details: Brand new 1:18 scale diecast model of 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado diecast model car by Road Signature. Has steerable wheels. Brand new box. Rubber tires. Made of diecast with some plastic parts. Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment. Dimensions approximately L-10.5, W-4.25, H-3.25 inches. Oldsmoboi's Birthday Challenge

  7. Just a question because I'm so big on supporting local business.... how come you don't use the local independent more often? I can understand the tires from Costco, but the local guy can probably handle most anything you throw at him.
  8. Size. The new one is smaller.
  9. Hey folks, CheersandGears.com is in need of an upgrade to the next version of the IPBoard software. We do have some advertising revenue but not enough to cover the price for the software, and I'm aware that many of you have supported the site through a yearly subscription. I am asking for a volunter donation of 1 dollar to supplement the advertising revenue. As always, your support is appreciated as I continue to improve CheersandGears.com Regards, Drew Update: This is why I'm so proud of Cheers and Gears and the truly dedicated membership here. In just 24 hours, many members have joined in to contribute 50% of the total cost for the software upgrade! You honour me with the trust you put in me as Cheers and Gears' new owner. I hope I do you proud.

  14. Speed. Windows 7 runs 64bit edition VERY well if you've got the ram.
  15. amazing what happens when you put out a product that doesn't totally suck
  16. Generally easy to do. Spend the little extra money for the high end ones.
  17. He's the melancholy version of William Shatner.

  19. I wish I could make it out there for this.
  20. Well, we're not quite as glamorous as you think.... but yeah very few of those cars appeal to me. You can completely wipe the Asians off the list. Of the Germans, only large ones really appeal to me, so I'd have to buy CPO anyway 7-Series, A8, S-class in that order. The strongest non-GM suggestion for me in SMK's list would be the Mercury Milan.
  21. If it were up to me, I would certainly go with an Enclave, but I'm certain it's too big for Albert. For the same money, we'd go SRX first.
  22. Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying the old one was all peaches and cream, I'm just saying that the powertrain was plenty good and in many ways superior to the Honda offering. One of these days I'll have to post a picture of my driveway so you guys can understand why AWD is such an important feature for me.
  23. Some recent good ones: Boston Legal West Wing Law and Order The CSIs Six Feet Under Weeds House
