None of the newer cars listed will be CLOSE to being a true "classic" IMO except "certain Mustangs". The first car that is modern that would get a "future classic" designation already IS basically a "classic"- the Ford GT. How it could be separated from the GT40 though would be interesting. It's not "one and the same" car, but it is to those who don't know much about cars. The Chevy SSR would be looked at in the future I'm sure, because it would be radically different. The Plymouth Prowler would be looked at for the same reason. Performance vehicles like Corvette Z06s, MoPar SRT's of any sort or supercharged Mustangs will be DESIREABLE, because of their performance and looks, but "classic" isn't the right term for them IMO. *shrugs*

Hot Air Balloon catches fire and plunges to earth in B.C, Canada!
CMG replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in The Lounge
My buddy was there, he was camping in "Hazelmere" (?) campsite. He said the woman who jumped out and hit the trailers was VERY high up when she jumped, maybe 100 feet or so. He said she looked like she was in ROUGH shape too. -
Saturn Sky Flying High, Pontiac Solstice Flagging?
CMG replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in The Lounge
Couldn't agree more. The Sky looks great, the Solstice has a face.... well.... it's got "love it or hate it" styling. There, I said it without saying the Solstice is ugly in comparison... (Ooops!) -
A true SUPERCAR in every sense of the word IMO. The only negative for me is the super PRICE. It's looks great, and the performance numbers are astounding.

Update of cars owned (43 as I can remember)
CMG replied to Dsuupr's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
I've owned hundreds of cars. Maybe 250+ including trucks. The most I ever had at one time was 11 cars and two trucks. NOT including beaters. LOL I've had a 1966 Cutlass to a 1963 Dodge 330. Most of my stuff was pre-1980. Only a few imports total, I've never been an import fan. Lots of cool cars in the lists though, good readin! -
Mid engined Corvette may get the go in September decision
CMG replied to prinzSD's topic in General Motors
Depends on what it looks like, and what the cost would be for a car of that caliber. I saw the video of the "mid engined" car, not sure if it was a Corvette type experiment or not, but it sure looked good. A mid engined Corvette with GOOD looks for not much more than the existing Corvette would sell surely, jack the price up to Ford GT territory and it would be dead in the water after the first batch sold IMO...? -
I've met many, but to be fair the majority of SRT4 owners I have met were at the track at the time, and their timeslips didn't lie. All seemed pretty knowledgeable to me, and the modded cars sounded and looked stock, but were running impressive times- low 12's one was. I've met soooo many "jerks" as Flybrian has described it ain't funny, just never met an SRT4 driver like that. (yet). One 1973 Mustang owner told us he just TIMED his car in the 1/4 mile with a stopwatch. 6 seconds. SIX SECONDS!!!!!!!! hahaha We couldn't stop laughing. Or a guy in a BIG buck engined Impala who said he had "never been beat" at the street races- he then ran an identical run beside my mother's 360ci Cordoba LS. He jumped out of his car back at the starting line and was visibly upset- he yelled "Do you think your car is fast?" at me, in front of all my buddies, all his buddies. I laughed and said "Nope, I've been beat LOTS of times." The crowd laughed. Jerks own every brand imaginable. So do "normal" guys.

"World's Fastest Dollar Weekend Airport Special" "World's Fastest Pizza Delivery Car." Maybe YOUR attitude is what brings out the SRT4 owner's attitude? Seems you show little respect for "other brand" cars, and frequently call names and belittle..? It's a fairly cheap entry level car with alot of performance for the money. I've seen stock SRT4s run 13.9 second quarter mile times. With my own eyes. That's impressive in my books for a 4 banger sedan. "Street cred" is a "Fast and the Furious" term IMO. For good reason..... LOL

What a bunch of exaggerators! That kinda stuff could NEVER happen! Could it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu6YHADrPJ8 They are quick little cars dead stock. Modded they can move pretty danged good...?

I find- and found when they came out- that Fieros were terrible cars. My opinion of course. Poorly thought out, they are service NIGHTMARES. Change a clutch on an early Fiero, see what I mean... :AH-HA_wink: They look like an overweight and unappealing version of an X1/9 IMO. They don't perform well, don't really do anything well. My brother was in lovvve with them when they came out, he drove one and never had any kind of fondness for the car again! LOL To each his own, the Fiero ranks VERY low on any scale I have, or have had. (It was awful IMO) The Caliber isn't what I would call "my taste" in styling, and unless it's an SRT4 version it doesn't really interest me in the least. It's not a typical vehicle though, it's a "new age" styled confusing-to-me type of mini crossover SUV, and it's bought by those who like that type of styling. The OLD style SRT4 was the best "bang for the buck" little sedan around. I've seen a few dip into the 13's stock, and I've seen a couple of low to mid 12 second cars with "stage something" kits, still covered under warranty too- at our track. Stage 1 or stage 2, something like that. Sorry... not into them so much that I know what it is...
-
Could be the exact same description for a Fiero, could it not? Only the Caliber has better performance...
-
Hahaha This forum is pretty funny. Comments about the Caliber's "looks", yet nobody says anything about the butt ugly HHR you compare it to. If GM was making the SRT4 this thread would be under Chevrolet Cars praising how great it was, bang for the buck couldn't be beat, performance unmatched, etc etc etc..... Strange forum for sure!

HUH??!?!?! LOL- better keep searching, I think I posted that pic twice in my lifetime. LOL!!!!!!

I sure hope somebody is joking........

I think ALL the Camaro concept interiors I have seen are ugly, plain and simple. The outside looks head and shoulders better than the interior shots I have seen, the interior will scare away possible buyers IMO it's so ugly.... I am NOT a fan. Can you tell? LOL
-
What's with the ugly big square "retro look" dash gauges lately? YUCK!!!!!!!
-
I think the dash cluster is ugly, much like I think the Camaro concept car dash is ugly. Both look terrible IMO, and they remind me of one another...
-
This is NOT a Chrysler drawing, it's just a cool rendering by a young talent that's floating around the internet, not sure if anybody has seen it.... It's being called an "SRT8 GTX", but it's got nothing to do with a possible production car that I know of....
-
Adding a B pillar in a performance sedan is cheap structural support. Take the B pillar out and you either add weight or suffer structurally.
-
I brought up liquid tire chains to my Chevy buddies years ago at the races (before the internet) and they all thought I was lying! LOL Then the conversation quickly turned to "we could fill it with bleach for burnouts....."

Top one looks like a 1951 Packard. Patrician.

1919 AV Monocar/Cyclecar...? That's an ooooldie is it not? I had to google search Cyclecar... I couldn't remember!

I've sold a ton of cars over the years and not really missed many of them. Lots of people have THOUGHT I would be devastated at selling certain cars and usually those were the ones I didn't even care about. LOL I've had ONE car I reallly realllllly liked over the years, and like a dummy I've kept it. The costs of keeping are sometimes a great reason to NOT keep. Sad to hear you liked the car so much and let it go, but it's got to be thought of as a "way to achieve" it sounds like. A stepping stone hopefully.

Chevy- Monte Carlo SS mid 80s - some Corvettes, but only on a "comparison" basis. The 80's wasn't the pinnacle of the Corvette... Buick- Grand National Ford- Mustang 5.0 (later 80s the better) -Thunderbird SuperCoupes Dodge- Mirada CMX/ Cordoba LS Some of the Shelby MoPars were cool too, the VNT turbo Daytona as well How about imports? BMW M1 stands out for me.... it was made until 1981 I think.. Quite a few decent imports

Cadillac CTS-V. Not in love with the exterior looks though. The Camaro, if and when it comes out I would have to look at. Nothing much brand new really.
