  1. Are you mechanically inclined, if not is your Pop mechanically inclined? Do you have gearhead buddies if not? If the job is 9 hours by the book it will most likely take a mechanic LESS time and you (with help) MORE time, but it CAN be done..... Find out the problem as best you can and report back!
  2. I'm not one for givin up so easy! :AH-HA_wink: I feel bad you feel down and have car troubles, just try your best to fix the trouble! Are you sure it's the timing chain? The 2.7 (I think that's what your is..?) is an interference engine, which means should the timing chain snap the valve heads WILL contact the pistons if the engine is rotated. NOT good. It would be best to try to pinpoint the trouble and fix it. If it's the timing chain I would think it would be an adjuster not able to take up the slack, and the timing chain is actually contacting something- inside of the cover etc.... it's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that would make the kind of noise you are talking about if it is the timing chain making the noise... If that IS the case it needs immediate attention, and no driving. If it is something else, it needs to be found what the trouble is. 2.7 engines are known for their timing chain failures, the last time the sludge issue was brought up (remember I said I had NO experience with them) I went and read up about them. Timing chains breaking and the aftermath is a common problem.... Post symptoms, try your best to combat the problem!
  3. Hahaha That's an AWESOME commercial. Back when cars were cars..... :AH-HA_wink:

    Huh??!?! What "teeth"?
  6. I still haven't seen ONE yet either, and I'm on the road all the time. Weird.
  7. Financial questions can be answered in more ways than one IMO. I don't think you are "stuck" with 28hour minimum wage jobs alone.... What about taking that job, and trying ebaying something you are knowledgable about? Or a local Craigslist, buy and sell stuff for a profit? Try your hand at greedy entrepreneurship !
  8. Do the Broncos have the galvanized inner fenders in 1979 like the pickups did? The earlier Ford trucks didn't have the galvanized inners and turned into swiss cheese, I think around 1978/1979 they changed over... They were decent trucks IMO, not sure of the going rates for them though...
  9. Opposite of me too! I would rather have a Wagon or Ute version, depending on the usage needed for the vehicle.
  10. I like the old car commercials. To ME that was back when cars still had character. Funky options weren't that odd back in the early 70's, that Charger top was non-memorable compared to Mod Tops and the Gator Grain roofs etc...
  11. Might I suggest a 1964-1966 GTO...??!?!

Me too! I can't go long without taking pictures of myself either. I would do a gross looking crotch shot too, but it would have to be in 3D to have full effect..! :AH-HA_wink:
  13. I find there are many different LEVELS of "car enthusiasts". Guys who read magazines and floor their cars on open roads *might* be considered "car enthusiasts" to some. Guy's who rebuild their own engines *might* be considered "car enthusiasts" to some. It depends what you are looking for I guess. "Enthusiast" is a realllllly broad term. A TRUE car enthusiast should be interested in all aspects of their automotive interests IMO. Which means tossing emblems and brand names aside and focusing on the actual automobiles. That's MY prerequisite for a TRUE "automobile enthusiast". It's about the machine, not blind brand allegiance. :AH-HA_wink:
  14. You saw your FIRST new Malibu "on the road" THIS WEEK? Watch out, these guys are gonna getcha!!!!!!!!!! LOL I better go looking for one! :AH-HA_wink:
  15. Sorry, but they were LOL!!!!
  16. Actually, he never used the word ridiculous. He was wondering where I thought the fleet sales cars were (if they WERE fleet sales cars) when I had never seen one. My reply to him is above. Please read before you post! :AH-HA_wink:
  17. Prepping them? Have YOU seen a new Malibu on the road? I haven't seen one. Who knows.
  18. I would bet alot of the cars that "careened out of the gate" are fleet sales. I still have yet to see ONE new Malibu on the road. Haven't seen a single Malibu yet...
  19. THIS concept.... does nobody like this concept? It's a crowd drawing car IMO... Would have been good to have THESE two cars instead of what we got it seems to me....?
  20. Looks better to me than a Camry or Accord too, but I'm biased also, I'm NOT an import fan usually.... :AH-HA_wink: LOL It's not "BAD" looking, but I think I've seen a concept Chevy that looked alot like the 1999 Charger concept somewhere, BOTH of those concepts I think would have drawn customers in just by looks alone....

    New " Cuda "

I would much rather have the first half of your "cars owned" list in your sig than the new Camaro concept...

    Challenger news...

Under 4000 lbs, but not by much, that's the rumor I hear. The original was no lightweight either.... :AH-HA_wink:
  23. Two of your "favorite cars"..? Hahahaha Oh well, lotsa guys in the Chrysler forum here do nothing BUT insult. :AH-HA_wink:
  24. Hahaha Yeah riiiiight. Both aren't attractive, that's the end of the similarities.... :AH-HA_wink: LOL

    Challenger news...

Yup. I still think the Mustang's price will factor in and outsell the Challenger and Camaro, but at least there is interest again in the segment it seems...
